I live in a 1bd, and although the living room and bedroom are nice, the walls/floors/ceilings in this building are questionable to say the least. There is a part of my apartment which physically slopes down a noticeable amount, and in fact, I've noticed the entire apartment is actually slightly uneven. The sound bleed from doors and walls/ceiling are immense; I can hear people talking upstairs/ watching tv through the ceiling often over my own conversations/ tv (same goes for next door). The elevators are concerningly broken (no buttons light, it goes up instead of down, the doors will shutter, etc). I have found only a small portion of the apartment that doesn't squeak when even I walk (I'm only 120lbs). The electrical is a danger, several switches and outlets have sparked or simply no longer work. THE BEST: there is a fist-sized hole above my shower, and maintenance shrugged it off saying "they fill it when you move out anyways," so for going on 6mos now drywall and water from upstairs (and rain) have been leaking into my shower. Icing: the kitchen has space, but it is closed off meaning it is walled in with no access to natural light and it gets HOT and LOUD; and the gas stove is "iffy" to say the least.

One of the worst places I have rented. PPM staff is very rude and not cooperative. One time , I complained about floor noise from tenant above my unit and I was told to move to high rise building if I have a problem with squicking floor noise. My apartment had heating issues and had to beg them to provide me an electric heater . They refused to pay additional electricity bill later. Wooden floor is very noisy and I was unable to sleep without putting cotton buds in my ears.

One of the reasons I picked this apartment was the style of building and the way the units looked. It just has a very classic Chicago feel to it with the stonewall, green awning, and inviting lobby. My apartment has nice hardwood floors and the doorways a big. This helps everything feel much more open. The windows are large, letting the light in. I also appreciate the unit came with window treatments. The 24/7 maintenance is an amazing thing! This is my first time living in a building managed by a company and I am very satisfied with it. I have only had a few things come up, but Val also comes by immediately and is very pleasant. I know another tenant who had an emergency in the middle of the night and he was there to help immediately. What great service! I was hoping to live in Lakeview since I work in the area but worried about the cost of living. Very happy I ended up in such a nice apartment for the price. I am really close to lots of public transportation so I barely use my car. Getting around this big city is pretty easy from Lakeview. It is also easy to get to, so lots of my friends come to the neighborhood because there are so many things to do.

We really enjoy the size of our apartment. The floor plan helps make it feel even bigger. Because the living room leads into the dining room, it feels like a large main space but with enough distinction to make it feel like we have two separate rooms. The bedroom is also large with a big window with very pretty trees outside and lots of closet space. We each get our own side! It feels very private and it's also very quiet. The kitchen is also very good. It is removed a bit from the dining room. We like the appliances that came with the unit including a microwave. They all work very well. Everything was very clean when we moved in. The entire building is also very clean and we like knowing there is a maintenance man on call 24 hours a day. We haven't had any issues since moving in but it's still a good feeling. He does a great job taking care of all the common areas. Lakeview is amazing. We're surrounded by really good restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Grocery stores and other necessities are a short walk away. Public transportation is excellent. We enjoy going out at night and on the weekends and Lakeview always delivers.

Our one bedroom is the perfect size for a couple. The living area and dining room are open, which makes the whole place feel very spacious. The bedroom itself includes an entire wall of closet space! We also love the kitchen. It is a nice size with updated applicanace, clean cabinets, and a good amount of counter space. Another feature that helps make the place feel big is the fact the kitchen is separated from the rest of the area. We have five distinct spaces in a one bedroom apartment. Keeping track of rent and utilities is a breeze. We enjoy the fact we can pay rent online and that heat and gas is included. The heat is maintained throughout the building so we never have to worry about being charged extra. It is also nice to have our own air conditioning in our unit.

537 W Melrose is a very nice, modern building that is very well maintained. The building engineer, Val, takes great care of it. I like coming home to a lobby that isn't full of junk mail, peeling paint, and just a general sense of disrepair. All the common areas here are spotless. This includes the hallways, laundry room, and package receiving area. My own apartment is also in a great shape. It looked great when I moved in and because Val is around to fix any issues, it still looks great. I like how spacious it feels with nice big windows and plenty of closet space. The kitchen is also big and there's space to cook. I don't like feeling cramped and this unit is definitely nice and open. When I need to get around Chicago, I have plenty of options to choose from in terms of public transportation. It's very easy. I also like having parking at the apartment. The neighborhood is very good. Lots of families live up here and everyone is friendly. It is fairly quiet at night despite the fad we live so close to Wrigley Field and all those bars. I like living near some good restaurants as well as the two or three grocery stores in walking distance.

I love the fact that anytime something breaks or needs maintenance or repair, my building engineer, Val, takes care of it right away. Even when it means that he has to come back late at night to take care of it. I've never lived in an apartment where such diligence and care is taken to make sure each and every resident feels like their needs will be attended to. What a relief! All in all, the building and my apartment are in great shape, but you never know when the faucet will start dripping. The lobby and hallways are also always free of debris, dirt, and other things that make a place feel dreary. 537 W Melrose is nice and shiny! Other things that make living here easy include the on-site laundry room, parking (!), and the fact I can pay my rent online. I also love that I have my own air conditioning in the unit since we know how hot it can get in Chicago! Everything I need is steps from my door. Grocery stores, bus stops, dry cleaners, plus a great selection of restaurants and bars. Lake Michigan and some great walking trails.

I am very happy living in a Planned Property building. My unit is very roomy and spacious. It has lovely windows and each space feels defined. I love all the closet space and the updated cabinets in the kitchen. The building is modern and well maintained with several security features. There is controlled access to the lobby and video surveillance. I feel safe here. I am also very pleased with Val, the building engineer. He is always there when I call and ask for his help. He is pleasant and professional at the same time. I always know he'll take of any issue I may have. You do not see this kind of service in some other places, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Besides living in such a nice, large apartment, I also enjoy the surrounding neighborhood. Lakeview is full of fun things to do and all the necessities I need. We're close to grocery stores and drug stores. I like walking to the lake when it is warm out. Public transportation is always easy to use. There are plenty of lines going up and down Broadway. It also feels pretty safe in this neighborhood too. I like that everyone is pretty friendly. They also love living up here!
