So, I read the past few reviews and number one I think that all the positive ones come from the same person (possibly the building manager) and number two, I absolutely agree with the other negative postings. My actual apartment and the doormen are amazing. I love the layout of my apartment and the updated kitchen, and the doormen couldn't be nicer. However, I just had the worst experience with the building manager. She was highly unprofessional and rude. After we had our disagreement, I apologized to her for being rude. Instead of accepting my apology (the professional thing to do) she proceeded to roll her eyes and turn away from me...I work for a Fortune 500 company and have never seen such unprofessional behavior. She manages a building for goodness sake and WE are her tenants that I believe should be treated with the upmost customer service...because yes...WE are the customers. Based on the experience that I just had with her...I would NEVER rent from a Horizon Building again! In addition...just to add...I think it's ridiculous that we have to pay for gas, cable, internet, and electric separately (and not to mention they are raising the gas bill...again). I have seen SEVERAL apartments over the past 2 months and none of them made you pay for ALL of your utilities. Also, there have been SEVERAL instances where the water either does not turn hot or it comes out pure rusty orange...that happened for over 24 hours twice!!!

OH MY GOD - Just went to look at a "luxury" unit...NO WAY... this is no way near luxury. New floors...ok. I'll give you that, but the bathrooms are HORENDOUS! Brown 70's tile and a really bad caulk job around the tub, toilet and wall soap dishes. This building needs a lot of work before you can call it "luxury". The lobby is OK, but the door staff need some training in customer service. Not the friendliest of people, but then again, look at the neighborhood. Stay away until uptown has a total over haul! (as well as the hallways in this building - no light sconces anywhere - quite SCARY.)

I moved in in July of 07. Yes the building was/is under construction but the management could not have been more helpful during the/this time of transition. Althought there were things that were specifically beyond the managers control, the manager did her best to keep the tenants informed of various short inconviences. I loved my apartment itself and was thrilled to be the first to live in these newly remodeled apts. The hallways were not quite done when I left(moved with job relocation)but could absolutly see the vision of completion. The price was right and considering the location to transportation (bus&train)it just couldn't be beat. If you are a person who sees the glass half full then yes!!!!absolutely move right in,,,you will love it and you will get and see the value. If you are not a glass half full then don't! I am sure you will find some other place to be just as unhappy.

I just moved in as of 3/1/08 & I'm loving it so far. Beautiful rehabbed 1-bedroom; of course there's still construction going on in the common areas but that's to be expected. So far I've had no problems with management; anytime I've had a request it's been taken care of right away. And Kenyon Krause has been nothing but courteous, respectful & easily approachable. Don't believe everything you read!

I worked for years in the property management business with ------. I found her to be professional and polite. She always went above and beyond the call of duty for coworkers and residents as well. Some people are just ugly inside and have no idea the good fortune they have to have such a dedicated manager. I would say try the job for a day and see how you do before making further complaints. Karma is a strong concept. Also how silly to think just because one "wants to" they can get out of a legal and binding contract!!! Next time rent on a month to month if you are so difficult to please.
