What everyone says is true, it’s an average, clean apartment building with friendly people. However.. there has been construction noise from the building north of us for six months now and it has made it almost unbearable to live here. I’m leaving in a month because of this and because of the outdated elevator system/package system. I have had packages stolen and so have many other tendants. There is zero ventilation system so in the bathroom black mold will grow if not tended to carefully. Now, construction has begun in the apartment right next to me with zero heads up. It’s even louder than the other one. Kind of funny they almost harmonize every day with their screeching saws. Go somewhere better for your money. Also you’re paying 300 more a month than what was last year…

This building has undergone a lot of renovations and the upgrade to the interior is nice. The apartments themselves are okay. The area is safe. I really love the neighborhood. Its very difficult to communicate with the building superintendent. I normally dont have a problem with a language barrier but its incredibly frustrating when something needs addressed in your apt and they respond with something you have to take time to decipher. Theres no sentence structure, words are missing, etc. Hes mixed up “can” and “cant” which caused a huge headache in fixing something in my apartment. He also doesnt seem to understand when Im explaning an issue. Its so bad that Im trying to find someone to sublet my apartment. The fallout from his miscommunication is not worth it.

The neighborhood is great. Easy access to bus and red line Addison station. Plenty to do. The building itself is safe. It’s generally full of tenets but with the pandemic, there are a lot of empty apartments. The property management company (Peak Properties) started this “beautification” project with the empty apartments. The whole month of April has been nonstop noise Monday-Saturday. It’s not bad if you have a Mon-Fri 8-5 type job in an office, but if you’re a student or work from home, it’d be awful for you. I can see this project going through summer-fall ‘21 as people move out. The property management company usually rents out to students. Most of them are quiet but there are some who think this is a dorm. That being said, if you’re bothered by cigarette/weed smoke/smell, this place isnt for you. If you complain, the property company will MAYBE send an email notice to the whole building but that’s it. The previous building supt was awful and fake. The new building supt just started in April and seems ok. Overall, you’re paying about $1000 just for the location. The studio apartments are worth more like $600-$700.
