I've been living at Hawthorne House for a little over two years and am extremely happy with my apartment, the building and the staff. I have found the Front Desk, Managers Office, package room and maintenance/engineering staff to be friendly and attentive. Having worked in an apartment building for many years, I know it's hard to please everybody (some people want heat when others want a/c and you can't have both). It's also about how you treat them; you get back what you give. It is expensive, but the views are incredible, the building is well-maintained and the location can't be beat. Apartments are huge and there's tons of closet space. Roof has pool as well as grills you can use. Great location for getting the bus and easy walk to stores and restaurants on Broadway and Halsted.

I recently helped a friend move into Hawthorne House. The office staff was patient & helpful with the myriad of move-in questions. The maintenace person was so very accommodating helping us with parking & positioning of the moving truck. The freight elevator was available as we prearranged & the maintenance person lent us a flat bed cart to help haul boxes. The apt itself was absolutely spotless...not so much as a breadcrumb or stray hair. The walls,carpet,tile,counter tops,looked brand new. The valet parking staff were friendly and helpful as well.

I've only recently moved into HH, but so far I am very impressed. All the staff have been friendly and professional, helpful and efficient. Management and the office staff (in addition to the service elevators) made my move in very easy, and the parking staff have been great to work with as well. Maintenance staff has a visible presence, and the condition of the building shows they have been busy. The sundeck and pool area, weight room, hallways, laundry room and elevators are kept very clean. And though there are 40 floors, I never hear neighbors' activities. I am very satisfied with my choice to live at Hawthorne House.

I've lived in Hawthorne House for over 2 years and am throughly happy with my apartment. When and if I need anything done the staff is always happy to accomodate me. My apt is so quiet, with a great view of the marina, lake and neighborhood. It's so close to everything I need; resturants, grocery stores, shops, nail salons, etc. The bus stops right out front and there's always a cab available. I couldn't be happier. Parking staff is exceptional, my car is always ready when I need it, I don't know how they do it.

I was shocked to see a negative review of Hawthorne House. I've lived here two years. My lease is up for renewal, so I decided to take a look around the neighborhood to see what else there was. NOTHING! I have a gorgeous unit that is insanely quiet, with a gorgeous view. The staff is always very attentive and helpful. I've never lived anywhere before now where you can enter a work order and the staff is there with everything fixed within 24 hours. It's amazing. I can't move because I would never find this type of quality/luxury in the nieghborhood. Five stars all the way!
