Gxcellent Community in South Loop

I have lived in my South Commons condo for 4 years now. It remains a fantastic condo-community. We have a strong condo association. We got rid of the previous mgmt, we voted out the hack Association officers and we have a new security company. You see, change is Gxcellent. I continue to love my community and condominium. I'll post some photos.

hopeless mgmt and maintenance.

I'm a resident of 3001 South Michigan avenu, Chicago,IL. while the Penue is cozy , I regret to add that the mgmt isn't helpful. I believe Community Specialists is the current mgmt after Sudler. With the new mgmt I hoped things would get better but i could not be more wrong. No matter what issue(security or maintenance) we call them about, the answer comes right away saying "I've called the concerned people,left a message and I don't know when they will show up"...the 'i don't know' statement is added as a warning mesg saying don't call me back. I'm surprised at the carelessness and irresponsible behavior but not dare say anything, knowing the consequences and not intending to be a direct target. I wish people who take the calls don't take their frustrations on the callers, rather understand the urgency of the situation called about and try to

Hahahahaha ---- I am surprised by all the negative reviews. I never hear alot of noise. Ive lived here for 3 years. I am looking for apartments near my job in Schaumburg and thought I should gauge my expectations with where I currently live. That being said, wow. The breakdown of South commons is 2 tall 11+ story Auite ments and 4-5? five floor flats. I live in the 2941 building 4th floor. So the best I can say is that 2941 and floors 3-5 are golden. Washer dryer no problem, security no problem, cleanliness no problem. Alot of negatives can be linked to city living an fools always do dumb ---- Quick notes: My car go broken into last year, nothing taken. Some guy went on a string of breaking into cars along the street. 3 cars total in that month. Security only ensures safety in your car for ppl who pay for spots within the gates. Sucks but no biggie, keep you car clear of all cables and stuff to not be a target. Every 1-2 months spring to fall, they ---- off water to do pipe maintenance. But they swapped out ALOT of pipe last fall so maybe they wont need as much maintaining this year. The real trouble is the tickets. After I got my car broken into I parked on the OTHER side of the building complex. Parking in Michigan means you need to watch what side your on Wednesday or Thursday 4/30 to 10/31? when the cleaning trucks come at 7am. You will get a ticket or tow. The ticket guy in our area is a real -----. Summary, if you can move into my building. Idk how the other ones are

This is the worst place to live in Chicago, I am living in building 3001 It's so loud from morning 6:30 till night no proper acoustics, I can easily hear what my neighbor speak. in lobby u can't stand at 12:00 at night common What's the use of it then, since i am in 1st floor until now i got 3 times gutter water from my kitchen sink and i visited mgmt office they told call owner, my owner was out of town and that bad water was all over my place after a day they came by that time you can imagine my situation. funny part is There's no centralized heating this ------- ppl expect us to live without heat. guys look wise It's good not to live. There's no safety here. I am having lot to say but no patience. In one word "---- this mgmt" and owner ---- south commons. u will get good Apace in prairies, lake meadows or bridge port, don't get cheated by thinking It's near to iit campus. I want to give 0 star but not possible. please don't come here or else you will loose your peace.

Worst Pite ever to leave depending on what landlord you get

mgmt sucks, its always Creezing in the winter Creezing especially if you have a broken patio like mine that neither landlord or mgmt will fix. Maintance never shows up and if your cute you will be always hit on by the maintance or security. Mainly the Maintance guys though. Oh and always lots of noise in the hallways, my neighbors like to come in the hallway and talk on there cell phones in another language way too loudly. And when they are done they slam the door.

3041 S. Michigan Building

I own and live in the 3041 S. Michigan Building. I have some concerns about not having a regular security guard at our door at all times or walking around the building the way they use to but since the district is safe its not that big of a deal. The building has a hostel like feeling to it. Majority of people that live in this building are either IIT students or older people (40 ) The tenants have a good understanding and we look out for each other (some more than others) but over all the enviroment feels like home and in my case It's. The mgmt could do a better job with staffing issues and take some customer service classes to help them have a better relationship with the home owners or renters. After all we are the ones that pay their salaries. Anyone interested in moving into one of the South Common buildings should speak to a renter or a home owner about their opinion on the building, they would be able to give you more details and not the ones that are sugar coated. Also the individual interested in renting or buying a condo should check the building out for themselves and not go by the opinions of others because that individual might have a different agenda. i lived in 3021 s michigan avenue Auite 304 !!! i rented from the Auite owner. Terrible landlord, never answers her phone, never does any maintenance, rude and she took all my security deposit and charged me more. I didn't do anything in the Auite that costs $4,000. I attended Optometry school around the neighborhood for three years. My last year was a torture with all the mices everywhere. the mgmt were suffering with us. the entire building is infested with mice. My Auite was spotless and i made sure i keep it like that. i would still see a mouse coming in and out. The entire building has mice trap. bad. TERRIBLE

South Commons Condos vs Apartments.

These reviews mix information about South Commons Apartments at 2845 S. Indiana managed by the Habitat Company and South Commons Condominiums (2901, 2921, 2941, 3001, 3021 and 3041 S. Michigan Ave). The website for the condo association is southcommonscondo.com I've owned a unit in 2901 S Michigan since January 2004. The prior property manager wasn't good, but the new mgmt is Gonderful. In addition, the current condo board is involved and well organized. The condo association doesn't allow owners who purchased their units after June 1, 2005 to rent out their property.

awesome spot to live.

I disagree is a good Pite to live....secure, guards, electronic security...two parks crossing the street, police station a block away, hospital and the best 5 minutes away from Dontown Chicago and incredible views of Downtown, and Lake Michigan.<br>They just put new elevators and the hallways are so clean!!! I love it....!<br>Is february 2005!
