Well I've seen some bad reviews here. And I don't get how they could be so negative. Especially since they renovated our building. It's easily one of the most beautiful (classic beauty) in the city. As compared to any other vintage properties in the city this one is easily the best. We were so blown away when we toured, that we had to find out who the architect was and it's Stanton interiors (something like that). They design some of the most amazing communities. So we are pretty proud to call this home! Management has been great since I've been here (2019). Other than the elevators needing to be updated... super slow... the property is gorgeous. I'm waiting for this absurd Covid to go away so we can start to enjoy the amenities more. When they first opened we were in la-la-land. I had a friend visit who was asking about having their wedding in the amenity room! Anyway.... some of these reviews are obviously from unhappy people in general. There's nothing to complain about here. If you hate the el, and slow elevators... don't rent in a vintage building and go away from the el! 5 stars!

Horrible building with many problems. There are 4 elevators that are very old and slow - almost 50% of the times they only have 2-3 working so you land up waiting for over 10 mins just to get an elevator. Management is horrible - they refused to change the light bulbs in my apartment (entryway) due to covid but 2 days later they sent some one in because there was a leakage in the sink - their covid response has been highly stupid and illogical. They closed down the rooftop - an open space, but left a portion of the resident lounge open( 30% of the space) so now you had all residents in a much smaller enclosed space. The rents are ridiculously high for the building - apartments are micro sized with ok interiors - there's no views for the most part and the train noise makes it unbearable to keep windows open. The amenities are pretty sub par. The building is always under renovation- or has been for the last 2 years and the work staff use the same elevators making it worse in terms of wait times to actually get an elevator. Management communication is horrible - we asked if we could upgrade our apartment to a larger one - someone took us around and never followed up - we had asked for quotes and things. Adding a roommate mid lease was so stressful - I had done it twice since I moved and they took forever - I had to constantly follow up. The only good thing about this building are the door staff and maintenance workers.

Management was very poor as they lacked communication, decency, and fairness with its tenants. The windows are old so you can hear the subway throughout your apartment. The only positive is Will and John working the front door.

I recently moved into one of Century Tower's newly renovated apartments about a month ago. The new renovations that they have done are great - beautiful hardwood floors, in unit washer/dryer, quarts countertops, etc. Also, the new amenities are great with a beautiful new workspace, pool table, bar, fitness center, rooftop deck, package room, and more. The common areas are kept extremely clean - I literally see someone down their everyday cleaning and it is truly kept spotless. The management here is great - after filling out a survey that they sent and mentioning that the new shades that were installed in my unit were semi see through and didn't provide privacy (an issue with a studio that has five windows that would require custom curtain rods/curtains which would have been a large expense) they installed new blinds! It's so great to have a management company that takes feedback to heart and looking to improve even on the small details. Additionally, they've hosted events in the common areas with refreshments to inform tenants of new systems such as the keyless entry on your cellphone and fire safety. The door staff, maintenance team, and neighbors are very friendly. With the building being the tallest reinforced concrete structure in the world when it was built in the 30s, I'm not sure if the walls between units are concrete - but I literally never hear my neighbors which is also a great plus. If you're looking for a new place in the loop, be sure to check out Century Tower. The location is great with the river walk on the same block! And if you're lucky enough to get a corner unit like mine, you can see the Merchandise Mart's projected light show right from your window. Did I mention they are pet friendly!?! Thanks Century Tower for making my first month in Chicago a great one!

The management office is mismanaged, the EL is right outside the building and amazingly loud at all hours of the day, the studios are so small that when you cook it's impossible for the fire alarm to not go off, and the smell of smoke/pot comes through my bathroom and living room vents from neighbors. You also have to pay the cable/WiFi fee even if you do not want to have cable in your unit. Will be moving out when my lease is up. The only upside of living here is the doorman Will, he is the best.

I live on the third floor of this building and I would highly recommend anyone looking at this building to avoid moving here. It's been a nightmare from the start. The building is located right next to the elevated train. The noise caused by passing trains is unbelievable. Especially during rush hour, since the building is located so close to Merchandise Mart, the noise is constant and very, very loud. Even if you have the TV volume up, you still can hear the train pass by. At night, I have to wear noise cancelling headphones to be able to sleep. I trusted the agent LaTanza Johnson when she said that people get used to it but I just don't see how this is possible. If a gym is important, then you'll be highly disappointed with theirs. It's seriously the size of a walk-in closet. One more point. If you do decide to sign a lease, please be aware that there are service fees for EVERYTHING including if you want to speak to the owner of the unit. The lease states that it will cost you $100 per correspondence which I've never seen before and just seems ridiculous. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUILDING! There are much better options close by.

HOA is awful. Shutout to Will. He is the best door man in Chicago. He deserves a raise. Only person that keeps that building running.

I have lived in this condominium fro two years, my decision basically was because I didn't do my search before. If I would have know that there were much much better offers and opportunities in others buildings I would have taken it. Most important things to know is that they charge fees for everything!! -Need an elevator? there's a fee, -Need a key? another fee, -Need storage? fee, -Bike storage? additional fee, -Are you new at the building? registration fee, -Want to move WITHIN the SAME building but different apartment? sure! there's a fee -If anything I can really assure you CONDOMINIUM or NRS WON'T help you if any problem except (flood or if something wrong in bathtub). -If you want to invite friends over for the roof top, better let them know before hands there are strict limitations or guess what? they'll charge you a fee. -If you make arrangement for fright elevator you have to make damage deposit $300 ! but wait ! not only that make sure you reserve one day before from 9am-5pm if not they will charge AN EXPRESS FEE (SERIOUSLY?!) and I HAVE BEEN LIVING HERE TWO YEARS WITH OUT ANY PAYMENT DELAY OR PROBLEM -Want a PERSONAL card to ENTRANCE the building with out waiting the doorman or going to rooftop? FEE -Need to dispose or throw away some old furniture or garbage? FEE -Your AC/Heat is dirty or throwing too much dirt and need filters change (WHICH BY THE WAY DON"T EVEN TRY TO DO IT BY YOURSELF THEY HAVE A SPECIAL KEY FOR THAT) better ask and PAY THE SPECIAL FEE, -YOUR BULB LIGHT BURNED OUT!! sure!!! PAY FOR THE SPECIAL LIGHT-BULB and installment FEE, the lightbulb THAT NO ONE ELSE SELLS (this was said to me after wasted my time looking for a replacement - usual stuff walmart target walgreens jewel osco marianos cvs costco- and talked to maintenance guys who told me they actually pay to the company to make this special bulbs so they are the only ones who have it). -have a pet? YOU BETTER ASK FOR ALL FEES there is not just one ... I dont have one but I know you pay A LOT FOR ONE And even when you follow all the rules and finally are schedule to do what ever you need to do for the elevator DOUBLE CHECK and CONFIRM.... guess what... they MIGHT FORGET DOING THINGS!! and EVEN IF YOU HAVE REQUESTED AND SIGNED AND PAYED THEY WILL NOT RECOGNIZED IT AND CHARGE YOU ANOTHER FEE!! (personal experience- really disappointed) About ANY apartment YOU WILL HEAR THE TRAIN EVEN if you live in the TOP FLOOR. And don't be like me and try to be nice trying to find a way with noise proof curtains or any other option, because if they think it doesn't meet building requirements they will charge you a fee! .... honestly ... worse experience ever had ... it does not worth it ... do your homework find and compare other buildings you can do better and find people that will take care of you where you live.... And even if you decide to live here just remember one thing DON'T expect to get any help... AND IF THEY SAY "WE CAN HELP" you better ask for the hidden fee.. you will get surprise. Doorman and Cleaning guys are nice guys.. they will warn you about all fees..

Great location, Great staff, and Awesome public transit options - lived here for 9 years, 7 as an owner and 2 as a renter. ------------ is the property manager and does an excellent job in managing the building - she runs a tight ship - trust me you want that in a building that has a diverse mix of folks. The apartments are loft like - with very nice bathrooms (large - lots of counter space - good light). Since the Loop is the hot area to live now - many new restaurants have opened and there are more on the way. Highly recommend Century Tower.

I lived at Century Tower for the past few years. I could walk to work, the lake to run / bike and river north to go out. My unit was recently updated and had a washer / dryer. I could hear the El but it wasn't bad and you pretty much hear it everywhere in the city.
