I really had a decent stay there but if you are at all frustrated by phone tag or feeling like a low-life renter, you may want to look elsewhere. I lived in this building when it was new construction and my repair requests were typically passed from landlord, to me, to developer, to builder, to management staff, back to landlord. It was so incredible. I kept a list of items that needed repaired and some of them went unrepaired for the entire time I lived there. Now to be clear, the maintenance guys are AWESOME - very friendly, good guys. But the staff just can't seem to place a work order to actually get them there. For example, the locks to my door didn't latch - I ended the lease only being able to lock 1 of the 2 latches because the rest of the locks didn't line up properly with the door frame. It was just lots of little stuff like this. Also, expect a fair amount of Columbia college students. This place is right across from their dorms and some students lived in the buildings. Occasionally, parties on the balcony kept me up at night. Lame. OH! About feeling like a lowlife renter - they don't give you access to the roof or the gym. They kinda try to pretend they don't exist. But I had friends in the building who owned and apparently, they all have access and have no problems getting repair work done. Hmph. Goodluck!
