I moved to Midtown 29 (before it was AMLI) in 2018. I loved my apartment, the amenities (especially the pool), and the friendly maintenance people. After COVID and AMLI taking over, the place went downhill unfortunately. First, the ground floor parking used to be free, but they installed parking gates with exorbitant hourly rates after some residents were found using it for their daily parking instead. Next, maintenance around the building slowed down. The pool grills and pool showers were broken weeks on end. Finally, the management and leasing staff. The first group I dealt with when I applied and moved in are not the same people working there now. I remember how friendly and accommodating they were. The group now plays favorites and only cares about money. I was hit with a $600+ renewal proposal for my lease after being a good tenant for the past years when my yearly rent raise would be about $100 each year. When I was moving out, I saw other tenants leaving large furniture outside in the dumpsters and getting picked up. There were no email alerts about it. So, when I was moving out, we left a small bookshelf and a rug outside. The manager Francesca comes up to us rudely and tells us she will charge us unless we remove the furniture. I told her I've seen numerous people leave all sorts of large items there. She kept rudely insisting so I told her we'll find a place to dispose and we did. However, they STILL charged me the $500 for "furniture disposal" on my move-out statement! Thankfully, I took pictures before and after we took the items and disputed the charges. They really are only about money. Also in terms of location, I do give it that it was very close to my work and you could walk to Midtown or Wynwood. However, the soccer field is a problem and causes a lot of traffic when driving to the parking garage after work. It is also very loud all times of the night.

I left my drivers license there when I toured one of the units. When I went back to get it the manager Crisia was very rude. Gave me an attitude because she couldn’t find the license and I asked to speak to the manager. Started yelling at me saying I needed to respond her questions and calm down or she wouldn’t help me. Kept repeating that I must have left it somewhere else. Turns out it was there in the end. Terrible experience, I left the place shaking. This is unacceptable behavior from someone dealing with potential customers. Do better and get this woman some much needed therapy.

Let me start by saying I’ve only been living here 4 months almost. #1 On moving day, my bf and I drove 14 hours on the road with our uhaul. As we were approaching Miami, we caught traffic on the express. This caused our arrived to change from 4:00pm to 6:00. We called and management- Yandri- told us he would not stay past 6pm. We were extremely close to the complex and this point 15 mins away with an ETA of 6:05. After calling again he confirmed he would not stay. We then had to navigate through Miami with a uhaul, after stopping at many hotels, we finally found a hotel that would let us park our uhaul there. We then had to search for a store that had lock to secure our belongings and pay over $300 on a hotel that night. ALL OVER A 5 MIN STAY OVER! #2 construction and changes. They had their outdoor grill station closed for an extended period of time and had the whole back section of the pool closed off, changed all their outdoor furniture -including their daybeds- to wheeling in uncomfortable single lounge chairs- which was the selling feature for this apartment. The blue fluffy daybeds they have online do not exists anymore. ABSOLUTE disappointment. #3 constantly shutting off water because of construction issues #4 elevator #2 has been down for weeks now and the wait for an elevator to reach us- going up or down- is an absolute headache. Good thing I’m in shape and no health problems- because I have been taking the stairs regularly so I can stay on schedule. #5 MY CAR WAS BROKEN INTO IN THE “SECURE” PARKING GARAGE. I park in the very top level-6. Someone broke in, scraped the side of my car, and stole my LV sunglasses and my unused dash cam. This has to be by a resident since we need keys to enter .We- my bf and I-investigated and there’s no cameras in the 6th floor near the building entrance where we park which we never noticed til after the break in . After speaking with management- Yandri - about feeling unsafe in that specific area and wanting another space, he tells me that they cannot guarantee my safety in that space or different one and if I feel unsafe then I need to contact the police. Which beings me to #6 #6 MANAGEMENT the worst management I’ve experienced by far. If you cannot assure me a safe environment in a “Luxury” tiny $3.4k/mo one bedroom apartment, or come up with any kind of solution, then drastic measures need to be put in place. The next 8 months couldn’t come fast enough. we WILL NOT be resigning another lease here. I have always given people slack for messing up or simply having a bad day. But when you are telling people you don’t give a crap about their safety, and it’s not your problem- go to the police, then you don’t deserve to be in the hospitality service. I work in healthcare and I know how to empathize, care for, and treat people. They need to clean house.

BEWARE - Worst apartment complex to apply to. When I was applying one resident said "whatever you do do not live here there is mold in my apartment and the management is incompetent". She was there for a meeting to terminate her lease and the management person didn't even show up. She was crying over the issue in the lobby. Another person walked in and said management had lost two of her packages that week. Avoid at all costs. They are impossible to do business with. I feel like a dodged a bullet living here.

The management are terrible. They evicted me for something I had no control over (my roommate's dog bit someone while I was over a thousand miles away) and refused to work with me to remedy the situation . I offered to kick my roommate out - that was declined. I offered to pay full rent and find a new roommate - that was also declined. I had nothing to do with the situation, and have a pet subcontract that states as much (this was required for me to move in). This was ignored by Midtown29. They decided to send me, but not my roommate, to collections. The management does not act in good faith; or act to any ethical or professional standard. Do not rent here. You will get screwed over some way, some how. Management does not care about you, about your experience, or about anything else besides money.

0 stars. paid $475 to apply on a Saturday and got immediately autodenied for: fraud alert, which I placed on my credit report for identity theft protection years ago (the FTC reported 1.7 million fraud alerts were setup in 2019 alone). called both agencies listed, Equifax and LeasingDeskScreening, both said sorry we cant help & I need to call MidTown29.. after 5 calls Jocelyn picks up & says I dont have access so call back on Monday so management can explain the next steps to remove/dispute with Equifax and LeasingDeskScreening so i can reapply to get approved since management cant override a decision or issue a full refund LOL

Don't rent here. These people only care about getting you on the hook for money. My finacé and I rented here for 18 months, always paid on time, and in full. When we asked to leave early on our SECOND lease term due to the fact that other residents, and the buildings own staff were disregarding health and safety measures during COVID-19 they informed us we would need to pay a fee of $5,000+ to end the lease early even though we are at risk and needed to protect out own health. What made things worse is the fact that they were giving away free rent to new leases. attached are the final email exchanges from the management office.

Living at Midtown 29 was awful. As another review mentioned the office offers payment for positive reviews when you move in. The women in the management/leasing office are horrible and very rude once you move in, especially Gisset. The walls are thin. The neighbors suck. There is a soccer field downstairs that is loud and they scream and play soccer all night. No one in the building wears masks. The security cameras don't work. The garage door to the parking never works. There is no free guest parking since the leasing office took it away because a few residents were using it as everyday parking. You constantly have to deal with the leasing office because they are on a power trip all the time and constantly make up new rules to follow, have outbursts and send out angry emails to everyone. Instead of enforcing rules with individual residents (like maybe the residents who were using the guest parking as their permanent spot) they punish the entire community by taking away amenities or enforcing new fees. Midtown 29 does not value their residents. Instead of making things easier for people, they constantly try to make things more difficult because they don't want to be bothered with doing their jobs. You'll often get emails that will say "new rule: no one is allowed at the pool after 4pm tonight." Totally the worst. The person at the front desk is never around. The leasing office calls you annoyed that you didn't use an app to notify them when you get food delivery. When we moved in we had literal ---- coming out of our bathtub that took them weeks to fix. Our dishwasher would recycle the same dirty water all the time and I got really sick. The electrical is all screwed up and our oven would never get above 400 degrees. Our fire alarm was not even hooked up. The downstairs neighbors had parties all the time. Save yourself the headache and don't move here.

This place sucks, yes pretty amenities but jacuzzi never works and customer service is HORRIBLE. Walls are paper thin so if you want privacy you won't get it here. I'm not sure if they do it anymore but the reason why they have so many good reviews is because they use to give tenants a $50 credit to leave them a good review. Most people we know from the building moved out as soon as their lease ended. Seriously horrible experience.
