“Continued negligence from the ever changing management office. The revolving door of resident relations people is absolutely ridiculous. Each wave of employees less helpful than the last. I am suffering with a vent problem - neighbors smoking weed all day every day cause the stench to seep into my apartment. I gag, I cough, my eyes water, it stinks up the place I pay money for. And the office has done absolutely nothing. Now a disgusting sewer smell is once again coming from my air vents and they are not doing anything about it. This happened when I first moved in too and took months to resolve so I'm not excited about it happening again. The worst offense however is the fact that my call box code has not worked properly for over a week now. I cannot buzz ppl up. I was in a bad car accident after Thanksgiving and was placed on work leave to rest and heal. With my call box code not working properly I have not been able to buzz up groceries, visitors, or medicine delivery. I have had to go downstairs which has exacerbated my injury and caused me to miss more work. I emailed and called the office relentlessly and was given the run around. My call box code is STILL NOT WORKING. PRISCILLA, ASHLEY, and SAVANNAH have not helped at all. Empty promises on all issues with no resolution. I was given a prospective tenant code to be used downstairs and that doesn't work either. These people really have no heart.”

— 900 IROLO ST · LOS ANGELES“I am a USC student who just moved in a couple months ago. It seemed like a good place to stay at first but that was until my neighbor came back from his trip. This guy next to me has an electric instrument that he plays twice a day for at least 1 hour. It creates the most annoying sound I have every heard. I have complained to the tenant 3 times and the last time he was very disrespectful and told me to deal with it. I complained 3 times to the management. I called the police once. Through all my efforts to resolve this matter, my neighbor continues playing his electric instrument. I face a courtyard and the noise from every apartment echoes around. Noise does only seem to be a problem in the first courtyard. I walked around the other two courtyards and there are completely silent. Other than having a bad neighbor, this apartment is somewhat ok. Each room is remodeled before a new tenant moves in. The parking just got restripped. Management is friendly. The laundry machines seem substandard to me. I feel fairly safe in the building. Overall, I still would not recommend this place just because noise is a serious problem.”
— 900 IROLO ST · LOS ANGELES“I like the apartment its very cute and more affordable than most places out here. But the noise is enough of a problem to make me get out of here! There are neighbors that bump their -------- music 24/7 and every single morning there are at least 5 trash trucks that pick up trash at the same corner! And at night people go out and hang outside and are loud! You can hear when your neighbors turn on the shower and the walls are thin. I wont even be doing anything and the people below me will start knocking on their ceiling, I'm assuming they think I'm loud but I wont be doing anything. And I like to open my back window sometimes to get some fresh air in and at night someone will smoke weed so I have to shut it. The doors are supposed to be locked at all times but there have been times i walk by the front and the door is def not locked or even shut for that matter. The maintenance is great, the security guard is great, but other than that, other than the price, look elsewhere!”
— 900 IROLO ST · LOS ANGELES“I lived here from 2009-2010. THE GOOD: 1.) The maintenance staff- They are always helpful and keep this unit clean. You can see the lady with the glasses cleaning everyday and the bald chubby guy always fixing stuff. Don't blame them for elevator failures, this is obviously contracted out. 2.) The management- The Korean guys that work in the office are very prompt and professional. If you have any issues you can always bring it up to them whether it's through a call or in person. 3.) Parking-Though I lived in a single and did not have to have tandem parking, (which sucks if you have 2 cars or rooming.) No one has ever taken my spot, and if you have guests believe it or not there will be parking for them within a block or two. Which is NOT bad considering you're in Ktown. 4.) Security- My girlfriend felt safe coming here, though I never let her walk alone anywhere. I always had my gun on me. Though you're in a secured building you're stil living in a high crime city. There are some rent-a-cops that patrol the place after 10pm and just having someone there is deterrence. 5.) Rent-This is good and bad. It's fairly affordable so if you're just starting out, it's a rather decent place to be. THE BAD: 1.) The noise-If you live under someone, prepare to hear the squeaky floors and if the neighbors upstairs are loud, forget about sleeping in peace. Luckily no one lived above me for close to 8 months while I was there, and my next door neighbors were pretty quiet. You can hear everything from people flushing toilets to people talking in the hallway. 2.) The solicitors- So, this is supposed to be a closed entrance, but I've NEVER had so many solicitors knocking on my door selling crap even when I lived in a house. 3.) The laundry room- Don't bother doing your laundry here, though it is convenient, the machines are tiny and do not do a good job washing anything. They give you a keycard that you use a machine to fill credits on. 4.) Rifraf- I read one review saying that rif raf started to move in and I would have to agree. While I was there I also did notice more and more rif raf moving in. They would stare at my girlfriend but if you are a bit confrontational with them while they do this, they will back down. If it had to come down fighting someone I would have done it to protect her. I have also heard loud drunk teens in the hallways and they're doing all sorts of who knows what? I think they may have opened it to section 8.”
— 900 IROLO ST · LOS ANGELES“This was one of the best places I've lived in! I originally moved here in 1989 and finally moved out in 2008. The building and maintenance personnel are wonderful. When we needed something to be fixed, it was fixed ASAP. It was nice and clean and the elevator was functioning at most times. The rooms are quite small for the hefty rent we used to pay. The kitchen was just a small nook but with lots of cabinets, I should add. When BRE Properties bought this place the place kinda went to the dumps. The rent increases got ridiculous and tenant loyalty was non-existent. The buiding is not under rent control but for the security this building provides and bed-bug FREE environment, it might just be worth it! Though I don't know if I would be willing to move back due to previous reviews about current "riff-raffs" living there.”
— 900 IROLO ST · LOS ANGELES“Hi all, I've lived here for about 2 years now and refuse to sign another lease. Upon moving here, the elevator was broken during our move, and had to carry much of our furniture up 3 flights of stairs. I am a forgiving person, so I let it go. The elevator broke about once a month after that. This year, the elevator started breaking down once every other week, and now the elevator breaks down every single week, sometimes as much as 3 times a week-it will not work. That's one issue. Another issue, is pricing. Some may see this as good, that this apartment recently dropped their rent to $1050 a month, instead of $1250. Financially, it is good. However, this has attracted A LOT OF riff-raff. I will not mention color, but these rude people have whistled and sexually harassed my wife twice in the parking lot--on separate occasions. She feels too uncomfortable to leave our unit by herself, now... Some nights you'll hear screaming in the other unit, babies crying their eyes out, or drunk teenagers in the hallway--drinking hard liquor and yelling. Most of these issues seem to be related to the riff-raff swarming in for the 1050/month prices. In terms of safety, it seems safe. The parking garage is fully covered and they've got cameras. I've never had a break-in. Make sure to lock your apt front door at all times though, as people walking down the hallway, will twist the door knob to "check" and see if its locked. This has happened to us, twice. Homeless sometimes wait for cars to enter the gated garage, to come in and dig through our trash, and when you move in--take your fridge out and tape the hole in the wall, because when we first moved in- we have a group of about 10 cockroaches(big and small) enter through that hole....Had to get it fumigated on the first day...They never came back, after the maintenance taped that hole. This place doesn't have ants either. Also, when they dropped the rent for the riff-raff to 1050 a month, we asked the management if they would give us the same price, since we lived here for 2 years. They refused, and offered us their best price of $1150. Ridiculous!!! Final note, Downtown Los Angeles gets REALLY WARM during the summers. As I am typing this review on April 20th, it's 95F. June and July are likely to get well over a 100F and these units get pretty damn warm. Be prepared to shell out quite a bit on air conditioning.”
— 900 IROLO ST · LOS ANGELES“I moved to this apartment about a week ago, and ran into a few problems. I moved it on tuesday. Problem #1 was the the elevator was broken intermittently the week I moved in, so my girlfriend and I had to move all our furniture, clothes, electronics up 4 flights of stairs(from P2 to 2nd floor). So we moved all our stuff into the new place(which had a fresh coat of paint, carpet was steam cleaned). Problem #2 was that the toilet made a dripping noise after each flush that would last 2-3 hours and was hard to sleep with, the blinds needed to be greased as they were hard to move. The door needed to be repainted(scratches everywhere!). All that stuff needed to be fixed, but they haven't done it yet and have a feeling that they won't. I've reminded them twice and gave up, because I can fix the toilet problem myself and grease the curtains...whatever. Problem #3: On the 2nd evening at our new place, my gf found a cockroach on the refrigerator(we bought some roach spray and sprayed around thinking we had fixed the problem). The next morning, my girlfriend went to work and I stayed home to continue unpacking our stuff. As soon as I walked into the living room, I see about 2 cockroaches-one on the wall, and one running across the carpet. I went down to the management office and asked them to fumigate and they said they will do it in the afternoon!!! This was at 10AM. I hesitantly agreed...and as soon as I went back up to the apt, I saw 3 more roaches. The place was infested!!! I talked to the management and said how ridiculous this was, and she then said she would fumigate immediately. (The cockroaches were gone ever since fumigation-it's been about a week) Problem #4: I am paying $70 a month extra for parking(careful, the lady will try to cheat you in paying $100-that's what she tried with me) The lady is very greedy and business like when it comes to money. Anyways, on day 3, I found that someone parked in my spot!!! Security instructed me to park in handicap on P1 for the night, so I did. The next morning, the management called me and told me they had made a mistake and assigned me the wrong parking spot. They re-assigned me a new parking spot(a bigger one, so I was happy). That very night when I got home, I see some man parking his bmw in my spot. I asked him if it was his, and he said yes. This time, security instructed me to park into someone else's spot who was gone for vacation...stressful, but I did. After a curt note to the management, the management said they didn't mess up twice and that another tenant had illegally parked in my spot and they put a violation sticker on it.(never happened again). Problem #5: This apartment is scarce of trash cans(only one in the WHOLE complex) I doubt these troubles happen to every new tenant, but I was very unlucky this time. Fortunately, ever since "hell week" things have been going fairly smooth. The room is clean and bug free. The apartment itself, is clean for the most part. The dumpster is a different story. There are no trash chutes...which was a big setback for me. It's pretty quiet here which I like(except for about 20 minutes a day when you hear kids playing around and screaming)-usually in the late afternoon. Maintenance and Management are pretty friendly people, which is cool. The Maintenance guys do their job well and are respectful to the tenants. They have a lot of parking available for additional $$(which is a huge plus, if you have 2 or more cars). Apartment seems pretty secure and nice for a somewhat ------ area. If it weren't for the area itself being so dirty-outside of the apt. I would probably live here for a a few years.”
— 900 IROLO ST · LOS ANGELES“I have moved here 3 months ago. And the apartment including the management are wonderful. The 1BR apartment is small, however things are pretty good at this apartment. The management is friendly and they always carry out the maintenance on time and efficiently. Its keep pretty clean and i have no problems at all here. The rent might be on a little higher side for a small apartment, but worth the money. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to stay close to downtown, koreatown. Infact all the places are pretty close by.”
— 900 IROLO ST · LOS ANGELES“moved 2 this apt complex in 2000...lived here 6 years. the last 2 years were nothing but hell. the maintenance crew was very nice, but the management team sux. my first 5 years there were great...everytime my lease came up 4 renewal, my rent was raised by 50 bucks. when the new management team took over during my last 2 years there, my rent was raised by 200-250 bucks! absolutely crazy. u would think my loyalty 2 the property would mean something. u would think me being a low-maintenance tenant would mean something. absolutely not. i finally moved out, but as a final slap in the face, leasing office claims i didn't turn in my second laundry card, which is bull$hit. the replacement cost 4 the 'lost' laundry card was taken out of my deposit...but it's all good. why? 'cuz they overpaid me on my deposit by 50 bucks. that's what happens when u don't reward loyalty!”
