“Walking distance to downtown Culver City, farmers market, and Trader Joes? Check. Easy freeway access? Check. Off-street garaged parking? Check. Management office open 7 days a week? Check. They sign for your packages? Check. Overnight security guard? Check. 2bd/2ba instead of the dreaded 2bd/1ba? Check. Awesome managers? Check. Balconies? Check. BBQs? Check. Cats allowed? Check. Cheap? Check. If you don't want to live here, you're probably a) rich, b) dumb, or c) both. Or you have a dog.”
— 3756 CARDIFF AVE · Palms“This is the place to live if you want half-assed repairs, done way too slowly. These repairs are made by maintenance guys who don't return tenant repair calls, yet seem to think that having a key is all the advance notice needed for entrance to your apartment. There's rusty water in part of the building when the water hasn't run for a while. (The landlord will arrive early for showings and run it until it's clear.) 3 years, and counting, for one tenant's dishwasher; a couple years to repair bathroom grout for another (done recently, there may have been damage to the unit below), 5 days to unclog a kitchen sink in July heat, hot water takes 5-10 minutes to arrive in the front (at any time of day). One washer and dryer for 9 units. The alley is a dumping ground for old furniture. Transients are continuously checking the dumpster for recyclables and sometimes leave the trash strewn in the alley and parking area. There are kids in the neighborhood who break into apartments and steal electronics. Graffiti is increasing in the alley. Bonus: there's an apartment diagonally across the street with a very loud car stereo and high-volume visitor traffic at all hours of the day and night...”
— 3343 KEYSTONE AVE · Palms“It was once a wonderful building (before October 2002). Now the jacuzzi is a kiddie pool, the courtyard is a playground and bicycle trail - quite a few shrieking/screaming children, quite often and sometimes lasting for hours. The idiot Management company let the best maintenance person we'd ever seen go and contracted out to a team that is clueless. I'd been waiting years to get in the building because it's one of the best location in the city and there were never any vacancies, now in the last year there's been a mass exodus and the new tenants are questionable. Truly a shame since it was a great well-kept quiet building in a terrific location and at a reasonable price.

The other problem is the insulation, stomping neighbors (day and night) and the bombination of music that also travels right through the floors and ceilings so for people who work at home and for students who may actually study, it's not the place for you!”
