“After years of abuse from the manager, Marjan, I decided to move. She's a despicable person. The building is not maintained and you can hear everything above and below you because there's no padding under the floors. The laundry room is full of cobwebs, and filth, and costs $3/per load! They don't fix things and the a/c is spotty when it works. There are frequent leaks/floods and elevators break down quite often. Walls are so thin you smell smoking from neighbors. Not one good thing here.”

“RUN AWAY! Worst customer service I have ever experienced by far. As a real estate professional for over 10 years, I know how the industry can be - but management here is beyond horrible! Very shady application process - requiring a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit before even seeing a copy of your lease! This is unheard of - especially with rentals. Manager MJ is lazy, not detail oriented, and just plain condescending. Here is her response after just asking to see my lease before handing over $560 in non-refundable application fees: "Won’t hold the unit. This is my policy. Either accept or u r more than welcome to look somewhere else. I’m also not comfortable to put my time n print out a lease n u back up on it. I trusted u tt much to send u copy of our original lease if u don’t trust me over $500 n the lease then it’s better not to even begin to become my tenant. Good luck."”

“Abusive manager - see email see sent after there was a death in the building & a tenant asked if there was foul play. These are big units and the neighborhood is walkable. The issue is the manager, Marjan, and the owner. Marjan is abusive. If you have any maintenance issue she will respond with "it's your fault"! She sends racist emails to the community saying things like, "pick up your trash, this isn't watts!". This place has all the potential to be amazing however I gave up a rent controlled apartment because the constant hostility towards everyone got too much to bare. The maintenance crew, Gilbert and his staff, are incredible people however they are also treated horribly by Marjan. The owner, Matt, allows Marjan to be abusive because she gets the places rented and brings him in money.”

“The previous owner gave this and couple other buildings to his son who now owns the place. The manager thinks the new owner is the god and doesn't question his choices in anyway shape or form. It takes the maintenance crew to fix anything because they are overworked, over-scheduled all the time. It doesn't seem like they are getting paid fairly either. No one told us, when we moved in, that the apartment above us has no sound isolation and we would constantly hear the people above us walk and have sex. They didn't seem to know that they had this problem either. We asked the management to fix the floors for the unit above us and she absolutely ignored all of us, the residents of that unit and us. The elevators have not been inspected for years and are absolutely old and dirty. This is a slum building located in Brentwood.”

“I never write reviews for anything but DO NOT LIVE HERE. The building manager is a psychopath that 'rules' over her kingdom like a tyran. I was warned by several other tenants on move-in day (random strangers in the elevator brought this up, that's how pervasive this issue is) but did not realize the extent until I had to deal with it myself. Which was very soon. She refuses to cooperate on almost every single issue (maintenance, parking, etc.) and when she is legally obligated to, she will be extremely rude (think all caps and name calling via email and text) and completely disregard your requests and privacy. I am 90% sure she stole my property, but I unfortunately do not have a way to prove it as I did not have cameras at that point in time. This has been the case for decades, and yet she is still in her position. I would strongly suggest avoiding this place if you want to keep your peace and sanity.”

“The management group here is absolutely terrible. They are quite capable of posting rent increase notices, however, when it comes to responding to tenant email/text/phone calls or dealing with building maintenance issues, they cannot be found. Messages are never returned and repairs, if they happen, are not timely. (The maintenance crew is actually awesome, but sadly, we are barred from contacting them and have to suffer through contacting the building manager.) Additionally, be aware that the street parking here is extremely difficult. However, it is a great neighborhood, so all is not lost.”

“scary place. I was looking for places in the neighborhood and saw the "for rent" sign in front of the building. The person that answered the phone informed me that the apartment was open for viewing. I walked in and I was shocked to see a place like this in Brentwood. Low security. Personal items all over the pace. Odd smells. Dirty halls....”
