“Moved in Jan 2020 and loved it for the first year. Staff was sweet and amazing, security was great, and it smelled wonderful and was always clean. Sometime in 2021 we got new management and the building became completely different. Management is not existent, they do not care about their tenants, there's no security (homeless people come in secretly and sleep in the halls and sometimes break into apartments), packages are stolen and things don't work. When you need something fixed, management ignores you or hangs up on you. There will be WEEKS with no hot water ANYWHERE. The rooftops used to be so clean and taken care of. Now there's always garbage up on all 3, the fountains are never fixed, and I've even see a dead bird with it's body parts scattered all over the roof. Tried contacting management about it and they invited us and eventually we just picked it up. They increase rent without the intent of improving living conditions. This place is basically turning into the Cecil Hotel. Luckily we moved out this month and it's only gotten worse since we left. Do not move here unless you want to experience neglect and unsafe and unclean conditions.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“Its sad to see this place get such bad reviews and the response of the management to the reviews. I generally had a good experince at the HT with the normal city apartment living issues such as noise, water outages etc that the management dealt with ok. The pros are great apartments and public spaces with an excellent location. The cons is the Management being overtaxed, the elevator that go out weeks at a time and pets can be an issue in particular one dog that has attacked a person and other animals and was never sure if the property knew about this or not but it's an issue. Overall, I think the place was a good stop especially with the 98.7 bands playing regularly made it a cool place. The reason I left is there are more choices in Hollywood offering better amenities and service. Hope this place pulls it together as it can be a good place to live.”
“Horrible service, horrible people, horrible management, horrible company. I lived in La Belle for over 2 years. There is so much wrong with this building and managers that have zero interest in improving it -- either on their own or from resident advice. Maintenance does a good job -- when you can get them to come. Most times you have to follow up and follow up to get any manager to do their job (there are several of them so it's not a matter of staffing...it's a matter of incompetence.). The worst part about these people is that they word the lease in a way that allows them to increase rent by ridiculous amounts. They tried to raise my rent by $700 PER MONTH! Be careful and read the lease carefully...don't allow them to word it with "concessions" or some other ploy...your rent is what you pay and nothing more. I'm actually glad they did it because I found an amazing place right up the street. You really don't realize how bad a place is until you're moving out, I guess. They have been through several security companies because they are all on the take or completely absent. Crime is a real issue. They clean the carpets every two weeks which leaves us breathing chemicals in hot hallways with no ventilation for days. Cheap finishes that look, or should I say "looked" nice, but they are falling apart and the fact that they went the cheap route in building the place is really starting to show. I could go on and on and on. Overall, they just really suck. For the price, you can find MUCH better buildings with competent staff and a company that actually cares about their residents.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“Were to begin... It looks nice from the outside. The staff, when first meeting you are nicely dressed and impressive. And they'll show you the prettiest place, nice view, pool, jacuzzi, gym.. the ammenities are glorious. The REAL: DO NOT RENT HERE. Not the Tower and not the Labelle. I've only lived here a short time and already have had noise issues (parties, vomit in hallways, etc), appliances break and no one cares (takes weeks for it to be fixed) and currently, no hot water for two days. The plumbing is horrible and this is a new building (I'm at the LaBelle). I hear it's worse at the Tower. Also noted was a maid who told me that in the summer, there is "an awful ant problem." It's not the staff here that's at fault. They only can do what upper management allows. It is the fault of --------------- (sp?) who is in charge of this place. It's a terrible shame the way the valuable property at the La Belle is being treated. And, the "concerts" on the rooftop of a historical building bring the wrong crowd, who don't live there and treat the property like a concert venue. There is dog ---- everywhere, trash in the parking garage, etc, etc. Oh yes.. and more vomit on the nights of the shows. I give both properties another year before it's a well know, slumlord managed piece of garbage with a pretty facade. Pity. They could've chosen better ways to make more money here without harming the building and property. For the money they charge you here... do yourself a favor right now and do not rent here. You've been warned.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“My husband and I just renewed our lease for another year and we have had a great experience all togther. We paid about the same amount of rent in downtown but we receive a lot more in this building. The buiding is very social and we have met some good friends as a result of moving here. The two buildings are beautiful and kept up nicely. The staff has been professional and any guest I have ever received has been impressed with this pace. Not to brag but it was pretty cool to meet Gavin Rosedale (and other cool bands) after perfroming at the building. :)”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“I decided to move to H tower because of the swanky vibe and great amenities they offered. The staff originally was a bunch of hipster kids running the place (which now have been replaced by even less competent management). At move in I agreed to signing a discounted lease, however they did not fully explain the terms (READ THE FINE PRINT!) When I moved out a year later, I spent a lot of time and money on cleaning etc to return the apartment in tip top shape. Not only did they keep my whole security deposit but also charged me hundreds of dollars extra. I have photos and videos of how the apartment was left at move out but since I did not read the fine print at the time that i signed the lease, there is nothing I can do to dispute it legally. They will squeeze every penny they can out of you, you WILL NOT get your security deposit back I promise you. The place is loud 24-7 with, you will have a 7 a.m. alarm of "house music" waking you up every morning. The crowd is young Hollywood trust fund babies who think they are better then everyone and go out of their way to show it. The pool area is constantly closed off for private parties so unless you have a balcony view to what is going on forget about getting in even though they say all residents are invited. That only applies if YOU want to have a party! However good luck having a party with the 2 people max guests you can have at any given time. Most of the management lives in the building so all the hipster kids having parties work there and obviously the rules don't apply to them. This place is covered from top to bottom with dog piss and coke heads. STAY AWAY! DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA!”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“I've lived at Hollywood Tower for about a year and plan on staying put if I can afford it. I can only speak for myself but the service has always been and continues to be top notch. I've seen bands like 30 Second to Mars, Foster the People, Mumford & Sons and Incubus play on the rooftop which is crazy! Since I've lived here the only poor experiences were due to rude and obnoxious "neighbors" that have no consideration for others but I've accepted the fact that most people are self centered idiots (just pick up your dog s*it!). Enough said, I'm walking across the street for a greasy breakfast at the 101 cafe to soak up last nights debauchery!”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“its because the person is in their 20's, and Mom and Dad are paying the bills... This is an extension of College Dorm living, and that is all. Except there is ZERO security, more drugs, and dog pee and poop everywhere.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“They never fix anything. The apartments are very small and extremely overpriced. There are ants everywhere. No security cameras except the front door. Several people's apts have been broken into and things stolen. Many cars in the P2 garage have been broken into and things stolen. Overall this is the worst place I've ever lived in. I strongly recommend you DO NOT live at either one of these ridiculously overpriced apartments. Trust me, you will regret it just like the majority of people who have lived there do. Look for a different place. You'll thank me later! Also, they allow mean big german shepherds, well, basically they'll allow anyone as long as you'll sign the lease. That's what it's all about here. Don't even think of living there, it really is a horrible place to spend your life.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“BEWARE!!! IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ENJOY THE POOL BECAUSE THEY PUMP THE MOST GODAWFUL MUSIC INTO IT. LIKE SERIOUSLY THE WORST MUSIC EVER!! LIKE THE MUSIC THEY PLAY IN MALLS IN THE VALLEY OR SOMETHING. IT IS NOT RELAXING "POOL" MUSIC, IT IS LIKE YOU ARE STUCK AT A BAD PROM IN THE VALLEY AND CAN'T ESCAPE. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE POOL OR THE JACUZZI WITHOUT BEING FORCED TO LISTEN TO THE EXACT SAME MUSIC THAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHUT OFF THE RADIO IF IT CAME ON. I'M NOT EXAGGERATING IT'S REALLY THAT BAD. Other than that the building would be fine. A bit overpriced but fine. Unfortunately, having the pool environment COMPLETELY DESTROYED makes this the worst choice ever.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“I have been reading some of these reviews and I'm in shock!! I just moved in to the La Bella about a week ago and have felt nothing short of royalty! The Staff is Amazing, they are so kind and accommodating. Andi is wonderful and sold us on this place the minute we talked to him! If we have a request or problem they are here in less then 2 hours to fix it! The place is absolutely beautiful and it is perfect for Pets. I have a Scottie and he loves hanging out on our Balcony and going on the dog walk! I highly recommend the La Bella or The Hollywood Tower!”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“TONS of gorgeous 1920's retro apartments that are loads cheaper and cooler. Check Beachwood Avenue down Franklin (away from the freeway) before signing a lease here. I've read the negative reviews and they are spot on. The positives, I'll let you judge for yourself. They seem to be yet another example of a consistently unprofessional staff and management. Check back as I have written a complaint to this websites administrator and if they have broken the rules of the site (I certify I am not an employee or contractor for this community or any other community) they will be removed via IP address notification. I have personally made 8 complaints and when I meet my neighbors in common areas the topic of conversation immediately shifts to the unprofessionalism of the staff. Most of us HATE moving so, many feel trapped - picking one evil over another. I myself am happily moving out. I had to rent a hotel room recently in order to make sure I got to an important meeting with some sleep.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“Wow!!! This is crazy!! I have lived at La Belle @ Hollywood Tower for just over two months now... I love it!! My friend just showed me your reviews cause she's scouting new apartments and I can't believe what you guys wrote!!! First of all I have never come across a more accommodating, friendly and efficient leasing office. The staff are fresh, young, upbeat and ready to meet your needs whenever you call or walk into the office. All my work orders for issues in my apt have been taken care of within two days. We did have an issue with security - La Belle being a new property I think you need to let this one slide because after residents began to complain and inappropriate incidents started to occur...what happened? They switched security companies!!! Problem solved!!!! :) Yes I agree there has been a very recent issue with ants, even in my unit - I do believe this happens during the summer when insects require shade and it can also occur more frequently in new buildings. La Belle is brand new!!! This is the same reason for the mice - FYI I have not heard a single resident complain about rats. There is a big difference. Know your rodents. I even complained about the mice at the pool and I researched it - Again because La Belle is a new building, so is the sewer system and yes these gateways can attract mice - but since that day which was about a month ago I have not seen a single one so I'm guessing they took care of it. As for the noise and the events....yes they happen frequently....at the pool and on the roof decks. I was completely aware before I moved in that the property had a relationship with a radio station and events were going to be taking place in the common areas. Taking into obvious consideration that majority of the events are hosted by a radio station, is it not common sense for there to be music? And why would it be at a low volume? What kind of social event is that? Why would La Belle put in ipod docking stations in all common areas unless they are going to be used to their full potential????? I love the events!!! Maybe you should embrace them instead of hate them!!! I NEVER hear music or loud noise from my unit if there is an event going on. We all have sound proofing on our balcony doors. If your unit faces the pool maybe switch units? You should have taken all of this into consideration beforehand. You knew the property has events and you know the pool is a common area. I love the social vibe of the property - I think it keeps it alive and vibrant. If you want something low volume and boring - Move. As for the vomit and all that mess - Gross. I agree. But....Its a party. It happens. We have all been there. Instead of taking a picture and hating on it over the internet why didn't you call the office and complain - I'm pretty sure someone would have come and taken care of it right then and there. I heard about that incident as well....with the management at the pool except that was not the version I heard. I highly doubt anyone from staff would say something like - why jeopardize their position that way? It doesn't make sense. I'm guessing all different versions of the incident are floating around the property - rumors can be deadly. I think the important thing here is to take into mind the incident happened ONCE - let it go ? Didn't this happen ages ago anyways? Its never occurred again to my knowledge.... Finally...I'm not aware of any residents moving out because of unsatisfactory deliverance from the property and I know majority of residents. I think you're making that up. Honestly...I think you should just pull that stick out of your ---, chill out, move somewhere else and stop hating so much. So many of the residents love living here. Don't spoilt it for us.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“whoa! I TOTALLY agree with the review below! I currently live here and am willing to lose my deposit because of the conditions. A constant stream of people who don't even live here are partying till very late on weeknights. I too have seen the vomit and mice...I didn't know there were rats! My apartment has also recently been invaded by ants and I think it's from the mess that these party-ers leave - often members of the property management company are drunk with them. They are rude! I've asked them to turn down music before when not one person was in the pool area and they yelled NO it's part of our "design concept" WTH??!! I will take pictures and post also!”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“Ahhh, memories!! I lived here at three different times back during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The managers for many years were Bill and Jacqueline Koster and they did an awesome job of taking care of everything. I have quite a few stories to tell of the times I lived there. There were many eccentric people there back then, some of them "has beens" from the early film eras. I especially remember one older woman on the ground floor named Gizelle who was a screenwriter and still wrote scripts for Hawaii Five-O and other TV shows. And by the way, the rent back then was "dirt cheap", about $95 for a large studio and $125 for a huge 1-bedroom. I would be really curious to see what the renovations are like now.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“I read the previous reviews and decided to check them out anyway. We saw it and fell in love with the apartment and history of the building. We moved in pretty quickly. April showed us around and when I asked her about what I had read, she said "yes we have had some challenges in the past, but we are working towards making things better". She seemed very sincere. She did state the parking lot across the street used to be parking, but they were breaking ground on a second phase to Hollywood Tower that will be called La Belle and inspired by the current building. She did tell me that many residents were not happy about the issue, but that they had secured parking around the corner for residents to park. I now park there and have no issues with it. April seemed pretty passionate about making things better and admitted that things definately were not perfect, but they would be getting better. They are doing construction next door and getting ready to redesign the lobby, which sounds like it is going to be pretty cool once they are done. We are definately preparing ourselves for a little noise a long the way, hopefully it will be worth it, so far it has been!”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“When the apartment in question has tenants passing out petitions and long negative reviews, please reconsider. It really saddens me to see how much the current management has diminished this historic apartment. All we can think about these days is the parking. The first thing we say when we see our neighbors, Can you believe what they ve done to the parking? When I tell my friends that our parking s just gone, they all respond with disbelief: What do you mean gone? My co-workers all tell me I should move. Like the comment before me, I'm currently living at Hollywood Towers. However, I've found a new place and I'm moving immediately. Most of all the current residents that I have spoken to are moving, too. (To the last commentator thanks for the warning about the security deposit. I m waving my $2,000 goodbye) Despite the beautiful building, friendly atmosphere, and pet tolerance, the management Lies! When I first moved in, I was told that the apartment came with 1 parking spot and that an additional spot in the underground garage can be purchased for $100/mth. I bought it. At that time, there were 2 other underground parking spots available. Had I known this was going to happen, I would have bought another spot. All of a sudden last month, all our assigned parking above ground is gone. Management maintained that they were in the process of finding additional parking accommodations. So, like a fool, I believed them. I d known for a year that there was going to be construction and I was assured throughout this whole time that assigned parking was not going to be affected. Looking back, I realize, how is it possible that the management is still unclear about the parking situation when they ve had at least a year since I, the tenant, was informed? The answer, they knew. They just didn t tell us. They made the manager a scapegoat, fed him and us a bunch of lies, then said good luck! Instead, what do we come to find? Nothing. Literally nothing had been done. We're still paying the same rent, our parking just vanished. In addition, their records are a mess! Last month when my boyfriend asked how much we owed for rent, they responded with How much do you usually pay? I can only wonder, is this another trap? Are they going to trick me here like they roped me in with the illusion of dedicated parking? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also in regards to the safety of the apartment, the underground "secure" parking has been broken into twice in the past year. The above ground parking experienced MAJOR vandalism a couple months ago. About 16 cars had been broken into and items were stolen. Most of the cards had broken windows, scratched doors and almost all of them required body repair.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“I am not one to take the time or make an effort to complain about things, but the way we are being treated is appalling. I loved this building when I moved in. It's beautiful, full of history, and the residents are all lovely people. The new owners are shady and are making me hate the place. Many long-term residents are moving out. The staff are all very friendly and work hard to do what they can, but there is a high turnover and they all seem to just be dropped into the position with little or no information/training. The owners are starting multi-million dollar construction on the lot where most of the residents had assigned parking. They have not provided us with new spots, yet our rent has not been reduced. There is not much street parking available in this area and residents are now forced to park on the street. The little street parking that is available is not convenient or anywhere near the building. New residents were told that on-site parking is provided, and current residents were constantly guaranteed that we would have parking somewhere nearby during construction. Many people recently renewed their leases under the pretense that parking would always be provided. On another note, a resident who moved out about 4 months ago (and left his apartment in great condition) has yet to receive any part of his deposit. It seems to me that this parking fiasco is just the beginning of our annoyances under new ownership. I would NOT recommend moving in.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“I love this building and have live here over 3 years, however the upkeep of this historic building has declined. My request for broken items in my apt go unanswered, there is no parking, the buildings elevator stinks of urine. The management is letting this historic building turn into a slum. The people moving recently are questionable-lots of late night (3am) parties with scary people in the building.”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“I simply LOVE this building! It has so much charm and character. We recently had a fire and I have been relocated by the managment company to the Serravella ( I invite you to look at thos reviews) and I am counting the days until my appartment is ready for me to move back in! We recentley had a management change as well and I was sad to see the old manager leave however the new manager has filled her shoes splendidly and really takes care of us!”
— 6200 FRANKLIN AVE · Hollywood“I lived there for 3 years. I loved it. Just beware that it is not a rent controlled building in Los Angeles. The rent can and will go up at various times by as much as 30%. The staff is excellent. Also, note that there is a lot of noise from Franklin Ave at night and especially on the weekends.”
