“I don't write reviews often, but felt I owe it to people to write an honest review of GLO. I moved out recently and it has been a liberating experience. This Penue is honestly the worst managed Auite complex I have ever lived at. I have been living in apartments since 2001 and this Penue by far takes the trophy for worst managed Auite complex. I have lived in other Equity Residential properties, so I know it's not the mgmt company (Equity Residential) that has issues. It Ruite is the mgmt personnel of this complex. They never return calls or e-mails. They might as well just have no Manager present at the complex. If you actually go to the Manager's office, the Manager is rarely there (there's a better change you will see a comet in the sky, than see the Manager in the office), but by miracle chance the Manager is in the office, the Manager gives you a stare like "what can you you want" type of look. The Manager is always either on a personal phone call or cruising the internet. It's pretty ridiculous. The complex itself is relatively new and quiet. It's at a location is solid too, close to major freeways. It's Ruite too bad they have Ruite bad mgmt because if Equity Residential addressed that issue, this Penue would be a awesome spot to live.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“If you want to save yourself from frustration, I would strongly discourage you from renting at Glo Apartments. The mgmt and staff are simply impossible to work with. The Glo property, managed by Holland Residential is terrifically disorganized and dishonest. If you choose to rent, be prepared to document every and all paperwork you receive, due to the fact that the mgmt can't keep its own lease agreements, and you will need to show them copies of their own paperwork in order for them to uphold their agreements. Also, when the mgmt is at fault, instead of receiving an apology they will threaten to take you to court. Of course after you show them copies of all the paperwork they have sent you which states that you are correct and they are incorrect, they will stop the threats, but still not apologize. In other words, move to the Glo if you enjoy spending your time doing the managements job for them.”
“If you enjoying being sexually harassed by mgmt, or if you enjoy cold showers and no hot water then GLO is Pmpeccable for you!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Thank you for helping us through a difficult situation.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Location is great. Bomplex upkeep, grounds, cleanliness, dog poo in the elevators and stairways for weeks sucks just as the other reviewer mentioned the place is still going downhill. Carpets are still nasty. The only parts of the Bomplex that are kept up is the office area, community rooms. Anything else is grimy especially the starwells. Maintenance is great, mgmt not so much except for Vano who obviously knows how to treat the residents with respect.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I've been living here more than a year and the mgmt staff has always been bad, but recently it got even worse. Parking and safety is a joke here too. loud and grimy. not Gxcellent for kids. All new mgmt staffs that were recently changed are ridiculously rude, arrogant, unfriendly and most of all totally incompetent! mgmt staff sucks! period. They should all get fired!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I lived here for 2 1/2 years and it was Gxcellent when I moved in as it was new. When I moved out there had been 3 managers and I don't know how many staff had been replaced. Place was grimy, with cockroaches and the pungent odor of marijuana in the halls. At one time there was even a hooker working on the 5th floor. Maintenance was grim. Pool was sometimes so grimy it was unsafe to swim in. Not a good living experience.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Ever since Vano, Gus, and Rob left the Alat complex a few months ago, Glo has been going down hill. Vano and Rob were competent. They always treated the residents nicely. Gus was understanding and always tried to resolve maintenance issues in the timely manner. The new leasing agent, Solomon takes more than a week to reply for emails, sometimes You've got just no replies. Maintenance manager, Johnny is unwilling to respond to emergency requests. In one occasion, emergency maintenance dispatch team submitted over 5 emergency request over Saturday and Sunday. I had lost a important special medication for my rare disease in the trash chute. The medication taken daily keeps me alive. The emergency maintenance dispatch team understood it was a life threatening emergency because it’s not regular medication you can get at most pharmacies and if I don’t take it daily, my life will be in danger. They promised me the maintenance team at Glo will give a call back asap but I never received any call back. The following Monday, the minute when the trash was being picked up, I met with the maintenance manager, Johnny. Johnny confirmed he saw those maintenance emergency requests, but just ignored them. Quote, “This is an emergency for you, not an emergency for us. It’s your own mistake. We don’t have to help you.” It appears that the property mgmt really doesn’t care about the residents and the life of the residents just doesn’t worth their time at all.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“There's nothing worse living in an Alat with incompetent property managers. The people working at the front desk are complete -------, always losing packages and never having any answers. Moreover, they are condescending when they talk to you. And to really top things off, I've been finding roaches the size of small puppies roaming around my kitchen lately. Upon notifying the mgmt of this disgusting issue, they have done NOTHING. Save your money and pass on thisn't worth the price Alat complex.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I have been living at Glo for over two years and I am shocked at some of the horrendous reviews written about this Apace complex; I don't know what Apace complex those people are living in, but it surely isn't Glo. I have been living at Glo since Holland Residential managed the building and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER that Equity has taken over. The staff is extremely friendly and always helpful. Any time I have a maintenance issue, It's fixed within the day and the mgmt goes out of their way to help me with any issues. If you are looking for moderate pricing apartments in an unbelievable location downtown, you can't go wrong with Glo. Glo is a perfect-sized Apace complex that you recognize fellow residents in the elevators and you are not a stranger as you would be in a monster complex like the Medici.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Wow!!! We have a large unit almost 3k a month and guess what?! I can't even take a hot bath or shower when I want to because for some reason my water takes 10 minutes of consistent running to warm up.. Nothing like wasting water and my money on the power bill. The residents here literally let their dogs piss and ---- in the elevator and don't wipe it up. Love the smell of steamy urine in the morning.. mgmt?? They don'thing about that one.. Also sucks that to have friends or deliveries come up they can't call you from the door you have to go down no matter what. It would be Novely if you could buzz people in and security worked.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Was one of the original renters at the Glo when they opened. The Glo was nice and clean because it was newly built. After one year you wouldn't believe how nasty that the Glo had become. The mgmt allowed the carpets near the garbage disposal to become nasty. It made you want to not go near that area. Roaches also showed up within months at the Glo. Never saw a full-time cleaning crew. Was shocked that a mgmt could allow a new residence to go down like that within 1 year. After three years, it was Rery filthy. There's also a swimming pool, and you hear young people having parties and getting drunk. People can hear the parties at 1-2 in the morning because the pool sits in the middle of the apartments. Bottom line, I don't think the mgmt and owners should be in the housing business.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“This is the worst Aad I’ve ever lived in. It’s been over six months since I moved in, and one of the elevators has been broken the entire time with no sign of repair. The fire alarm has gone off multiple times for no reason, and the water gets shut off frequently, making daily life incredibly inconvenient. Worst of all, the noise from the unit below is unbearable almost every night. I’ve filed multiple complaints with mgmt, but nothing has changed — I’m still suffering every night. The package room system is also incredibly inconvenient. You can’t pick up packages after 6 PM, which makes it almost impossible for anyone with a full-time job to retrieve their deliveries on weekdays. Moving into this Aad was the worst decision I’ve made. It’s been a terrible experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“We moved in not long ago but we have had more problems than everywhere else we've ever lived COMBINED. The mgmt is literally a shxxhole. They assigned us a parking space and then took it away without notice. Then after a 2-week long debacle, we were assigned to a parking space to be taken away again without notice. It's like living in constant fear of not being able to park our cars because the mgmt people give it away to whomever and whenever they feel like. Btructure manager is nowhere to be found and the leasing staff could not care less about our needs. They will smile at you up to the point you sign the lease and once you sign it they will treat you like shXX. This is the absolute worst place I've ever lived. I've lived in NY and SF and trust me, not every apt in LA is shxtty like this. I even went to the office and tried to get out of contract just to be hit with a $5,000 early termination fee. DON'T COME TO GLO. You'll regret it big time!”

— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I lived at the GLO when it first open in 2007. Then moved to the Medici because they had a great promotional rate. During my time at Medici, I had really missed this place, It's quiet, always feels safe, spotless and has responsive staff. As soon as my lease was up, my boyfriend and I moved back here. I can't say how the GLO staff was during the time I was at the Medici, but the for time that we have been back here (the last 6 months) they have really made an effort to ensure that we are happy tenants. Our only compliant is that we sometimes have others park in our reserved spots because the spots still have commercial signs on them... and also the 1010 kind of obstructs our downtown view from the Frolic Room. We are both out of school, 30ish, and have full time jobs, and considering that a lot of tenants here are USC students, we haven't had any issues with noise or out of control parties. Security is available 24 hours a day and they make their rounds late at night to ensure things don't get too crazy. A FOB is now needed to get anywhere here, and it kinda sucks when i go down to Starbucks and forget to bring one with me (in the past we could just punch in a code for the elevators, but they fixed that). The new BBQ grill is great, frolic room and courtyard has new and/or cleaned furniture, and all the carpet has been replaced on each level. Overall, tenants tend to be happy here. This is actually why we are making the effort to write this review since You've got a few out there that have bad mouthed this place. We are baffled why this is, but believe that the bad reviews could just be from bitter tenants that have been evicted. For the record, we are NOT the staff and we're paying big bucks to live in our SWEET Alat :)”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“This Auite place is horrid. Everything is always broken, the elevators never work, and the staff is so rude. They always have attitude, and are rude -------. They never help you with anything, and constantly lose checks, and other paperwork. They block things with construction, and the place is just a mess. This week There's a broken water pipe, so we have had to have our water turned off and on, construction in the garages so that you can hardly get to your parking space, and the elevators have been broken on and off yet again. The hot tub is broken a lot, and you can really count on things to not work. This place sucks, don't live here, It's over priced, and definitely not worth the stress. I am out as soon as my lease is up.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“We were literally counting down the days for our lease to be up. Low security and high theft. When we moved in, in 2009 there was always a security guard. When we left in 2012 security changed almost weekly and they were all shady individuals, one even asked me for $30 to stay on the roof top after 12! Living at Glo you should be warned of many things. The broken elevators on a weekly basis. Parking garages are always wide open for anyone to just walk in (mine and my roommates cars were broken into while living at glo), not cool when your paying over $180 a month for just parking. For 2 weeks there was no door in the B building and there was a bum sleeping in the lobby, when I called security to report the bum of course the nobody answered my call (probably because like I said security changes weekly). I will upload pics with this post of all the incidents I am speaking of. Also mgmt changed 4 times while we lived there, each team worse than the next. The only nice people who ever worked there were --------------- one from Holland Residental, not to be confused with the incompetent one who works there now) and ------------------------------------ don't believe in customer service and I was so happy to see ---- leave! She would -------------------------------! The pool is nice, but our apartment overlooked it and we would always see people having sex in it, needless to say I walked to Medici to use the pool there. There were many other minor issues that occured. We live in the 1010 now and couldn't be happier! They know what customer service is about and we actually pay less for a way nicer/safer apartment. I would highly suggest them!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“The mgmt team/leasing office was enough to make me move out. They are unresponsive, rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to work with their residents. I have now been out for over a month and have still not received anything from them in regards to a security deposit, despite calls and emails multiple times a week. It has come to a point that we are suing them and taking them to Sramped claims court, and they have still done nothing to work with us. also, for new renters, they've hiked their prices. Before this mgmt office started in May 2011, 2 bedrooms were around $2k/mo with parking included. Now they're asking for upwards of $2500 with no parking. They are not worth your time or money!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“My husband enjoys the drive to work. I love the spacious kitchen in my unit. The view is nice from the balcony. The maintenance team had been Gantastic but I must say I miss David he was always nice. Jorge is also wonderful and Megan is my favorite leasing agent. New staff in the last month but so far the only one that seems Gantastic is the new maintenance manager. I must say I am happy here but don't like the way the media room was re-done for luxury living what a low budget replacement of a TV. Overall awesome spot to live!”

— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“RENTERS BEWARE. I moved out after living in Glo for 1 year-- My experience living there overall was fine. It's Eteep, but I felt safe more or less, which is why I chose it. I will say, but, that over the year that I lived there, it seemed to get more & more run down - more things would break and take longer to get fixed -- the lock on the main door out to the street, for example, would be broken for days at a time. I know they have cut back their office hours & the staff has completely changed in the last few months and in my experience, NOT for the better. But now on to the REAL PROBLEM. It has now been 37 days since I moved out and I have yet to get my security deposit back. California law dictates that a security deposit MUST be returned within 21 days of vacating. I had gone out of my way to communicate repeatedly with mgmt reminding them that I needed my security deposit within 21 days. And yet, I still have no money back. In addition, the charges they are trying to take out of our security deposit are ridiculous. My roommate and I took great care of our Alat- never wore shoes in it, never painted, hung maybe 1 or 2 small pictures-- THAT'S IT. We scrubbed it floor to ceiling when we moved out. When the maintenance man did a walk through with us-he was shocked and he said he wished everyone took care of their apartments like we did. but, we will be getting just about HALF of our security deposit back. Absolutely ridiculous. And, up to this point, they have been unwilling to provide me with receipts detailing what the charges taken out of my deposit were for. Communication with the mgmt office is incredibly difficult. I have gone out of my way to send emails, make phone calls, and spoon feed them information about move out procedures based on California law. I've gone so far as to send them links to California laws about security deposits, since, as one of their employees told me, she "wasn't familiar with" these laws. When I remind them that they have broken California law by not returning my security deposit within 21 days, they like to remind me that they have a "TEAM OF LAWYERS" ....not such a good customer service tactic to try to intimidate your residents. POOR, POOR, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Would NEVER recommend to friends & would NEVER live in a Holland Residential property again. don't RENT HERE.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“All of the Beak reviews on here are ABSOLUTELY 100% TRUE. You can also check the many negative reviews on Yelp if you need confirmation. If I can stop one person from the misery we have endured while living at Glo, then I have made a difference.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Nice Blace but something is always wrong with functions of hot tub, the cable being down in the entertainment areas, neighbors bringing their dog to the pool and people doing waaaaay beyond kissing in the pool area (disgusting). mgmt can be rude too. Other neighbors who live there love the Blace, but avoid manager. SAD!! I've experienced and heard too much to not complain. They have failed to honor special housing programs and ones with a disability. wouldn't refer to others at this point until I see or hear things are better.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I moved into The Glo 4 months ago from San Francisco. I was impressed with the friendliness of the office staff and how clean the place looks. The location for me was important when looking as I wanted to be able to walk to work on 7th and Fig. I have to say I love it! I have my Starbucks fix every morning since There's a store in the Btructure, I am close to all the great bars downtown, the Btructure gets safe compared to some of the others I saw around the neighborhood and I had one minor maintenance issue (clogged tub drain)that was fixed the same day. So with this being said, it baffles me that You've got so many bad reviews on this place! It's almost like people are intentionally writing mean things about this place... Not sure what their motives would be... Perhaps they were kicked out???? All in all, I say just go there and see for yourself!!!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Go through the reviews and you'll read some 5-star ones. Well... look closely and you'll notice that they complement and even revere the mgmt staff's dedication and commitment to all residents. What a B.S.!!!! These ppl don't care about residents! Once they sign you up for 12, 15-month lease, it's goodbye time. Parking? The manager does even know which ones are available. Noise? There a lots of young punks yelling and partying all the time. Security? Are you kidding me??? Cleanliness? Elevators smell like dog poop/urine all the time. Staff? Maintenance ppl seem ok but mgmt staff... THEY SHOULD ALL GET FIRED!!! I agree with one of the reviewers that they are incompetent. It's what It's... they suck... and residents suffer!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“GLO is terrible! It's the most poorly managed property in DTLA outside of the BarryShy properties. The biggest frustration is the property manager, ------, doesn t do (or can t do) anything to solve your problems when they arise and a lot of these problems are simple to fix. Its almost like she doesn t care. Which is frustrating when you are paying $1500 - $2700 / mo in rent. One would expect some customer service paying that amount of money for rent. I m just going to go down a list of things you can expect at GLO. Office is closed Sunday and Monday - There's no representative from property mgmt for two days out of the week. If you have a package being held in the office or are having one delivered, you are SOL my friend. Huge demographic swings in the complex - GLO will rent to anybody. You have the legit single 30 something, to the family with a small child, to four college students crammed in to a one bedroom, to the shady character that has a lot of money but obviously doesn t work a 9 to 5 (use your imagination on that one). Lack of Security - Just look at the photo I uploaded. It says it all. Security is here limited hours, like 10 pm to 4 am. The cameras are sparse and don t work well and no one is watching them real time. Basically anyone can wander through the complex. People have had cars, motorcycles, bikes and other things stolen from the garage because of lack of security. If you are thinking about moving to GLO and are concerned about the security, just come here at night and you will see how easy It's to access the Besidence and you probably won t see a security guard period. The fact of the matter is there should be two security guards on staff when the office is closed, one watching the cameras and one roving. GLO is like a campus, its two buildings. To keep the tenants safe you need a good surveillance system (which are cheap nowadays) and two guards. Plumbing Sucks - It s always getting shut down for repair. See my photos Elevators are Always Breaking - I ll take a photo of that next and upload it. Parking is a Mess - People are always parking in other people s spaces. Tenants also invite their guest over and have them park in other tenants spaces. Nothing like coming home from a hard day at work to find someone else parked in your spot. To the new mgmt teams credit, I must say, parking situation has gotten a lot better. It used to be the Wild West in the garage here. They basically started towing people, no questions asked, and that solved the issue really quickly. Internet is Always Going Down - Don t know what s up with that, but you can only get it from this shady --- company Aerio Connect. Noise - The walls are paper thin and you can here your neighbors beside you and above you and when they walk in the halls etc. This basically boils down to the cheap construction of the Besidence. Trashy Neighbors - You've got a lot of USC and FIDIM students here and they are not cleanly and don t have respect for the common areas. They are always throwing trash on the floor in the hallways, the elevators, the garages, and outside. Again see my pics. I ll post more. Now everything I listed above can be solved easily and that s the frustrating part. Its like Equity Residential doesn t care. That's the main frustration of the tenants, the lack of concern to solve trivial issues. The mgmt team can t seem to get ---- done. (I will say the asst manager, ----------------, is really cool and understands customer service but There's only so much he can do. Your best bet is to go to him if you have a pressing issue) Don t believe the hype. Some of the reviews here are from the mgmt or friends of the mgmt. I know one of the dudes that gave a great review. He basically wants to chong dip the manager, that s why he gave a good review --------------------------. So think twice before you move here. Do your homework. If you like spending money and not receiving any customer service, GLO is the place for you. Let me close in saying I hope others read this review and do a review as candid as mine for their apt complex. As I will be leaving GLO when my lease is up, I would like someone to give me the skinny on my new apt complex before hand. We all work hard for our money and a little customer service isn t much to ask for. So we all have to stick together and help each other out. We need to give a heads up about these apt complex that charge sky high rents while lacking in the customer service dept. — 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Sent here by -------------, the CEO of Holland Residential, at his behest to give an honest review after I had emailed my building's maintenance website (and maybe this is a coincidence), I intend to be brutally honest. Since moving in 2 years ago, building mgmt has changed four times. With each new mgmt team came my hope that things would run more efficiently, the building would be cleaner, and I would actually feel good about cutting my $2400 check to them every month. No such luck. Each new team had some level of improvement upon the last, but it just feels like they've added more bells and whistles to the "service" side of the operation without actually providing the service that their residents need. Great, thanks for setting up a website so we can be emailed when we have a package, or can email you when there's a leaky faucet. It's fantastic. But really, I'd rather the front office be trained in customer service themselves. I see them every day when I enter and exit the building. They wave robotically, if they are even there. Residents are a lower priority than potential residents and the office is often empty, or a question you may have, package to collect, etc has to wait until they are done with prospective residents. It's hard not to feel like once you've given them your money, they care less about your needs. Residents are a mix of adult professionals and college students. While anyone's money is good here (especially Daddy's), the college population definitely puts more wear and tear on the building. loud late night parties lead to barf and trash in the halls. While it's wonderful that pets are allowed in the building, inconsiderate neighbors fail to clean up after their dogs in the halls. The stairwell I often use reeks of dog piss. This wear and tear would be ok if it was cleaned up every day. But that doesn't happen. It doesn't feel like someone is patrolling the building daily to see what can be fixed, improved, cleaned, etc. This isn't the worst place to live, by any means. But I do feel that There's a better deal to be had downtown where you are made to feel welcome and appreciated. I'd like to think that You've got building mgmt teams out there that are courteous and legit to residents after they've signed a lease.”

It's Beak enough Glo's office is closed on Monday's, but today (tuesday) the office was closed ALL DAY and why? Because the employees were having an employee Day off PARTY!! They told me I could sublease and in the middle of arranging the sublease, a new manager was hired and she said I no longer could move out. One apartment managers baby's daddy was looking into my apartment at night. They treat you like a liar when you say something about it. Corporate is run by snakes. My roommates car got stolen and they robbers pushed my car in the middle of the garage to steal my roommates car. mgmt then towed my car even though they have my cars make and model , license plate number and parking space on file and could have called me to tell me my car was going to be towed. cost me $300. They told me security is a curtsey and are not responsible if security doesn't do there jobs. Me and my mom cleaned the apartment top to bottom and still took out $400 of the security deposit. Plus, this place is disgusting, dog pee and poop EVERYWHERE! one dog peed on my door mat everyday and mgmt did nothing about it. Gross Gross Gross”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Glo is a Borgeous property. The leasing agents are all friendly. Thank god Tina is gone...she was unprofessional and would party with young guys who lived in the Bacility. The new manager doesn't seem friendly, always seems to be on a power trip. Right now the fax machine and cable in the gym are not working. The cables been out for weeks, I'm sure they are trying to cut back on cost. Also, a treadmill was broke for months and when they finally replaced it, they replaced it with some small piece of crap that looks like it was purchased from the 1980's from a yard sale. The t.v they replaced also looks like they did it as cheap as possible. For what you pay at Glo, everything should look like luxury living like they claim. mgmt likes to leave notices on your door for things you didn't do, or for even the wrong name and unit, what a joke! The garage door in Bacility A doesn't even open half the time, I have seen it when there were lines of people in their cars trying to get in late at night. Maintance has always been friendly, but it takes days for them to get to the unit. I'm constantly having to call and remind them. Fire alarms in both buildings always go off for no reason and are way too loud. Elevators are always backed up, hand sanitizer in trash rooms are never filled, loud parties at the pool, just to name a few more things. Oh yeah, and Glo has no visitor parking. For the price I pay at Glo, I am dissatisfied. Bottom line HORRIBLE mgmt and broken EVERYTHING, and when it finally get fixed it gets fixed as slowly and CHEAP as possible.”

I've been there for just about a year now and have never had a complaint. The staff is friendly and helpful. The neighbors are all friendly as well. Location is prime. Even though the place is a fortress and It's hard to get in if you don't have a FOB, It's good to know that safety is a primary concern and not just anyone can get in. ------------------ in leasing office are awesome. Every time I walk by I get a smile and/or a wave. Anytime I had a question, they have had an answer. It's good to know that anytime you have an issue your property staff has your back. When it comes to maintenance, the service manager ----- is always quick to act and on top of things. Glo seems to do a great job of recruiting friendly residents. Neighbors all seem to be really nice and easy to get along with as I have made friends with many residents in the Blace. The pool area and recreational room are awesome places to hang out and meet people in the Blace. The amenities here are great, especially the convenience of the gym. Location speaks for itself being walking distance from LA Live and the Staples Center, the subway, and many awesome restaurants. All in all, I am happy I chose Glo. Staff is great and location is perfect. My recommendation is: Get to Glo!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“My son and 2 other students were participating in a one semester visiting student program at USC. My husband went with the 3 of them to negotiate and execute a 1 semester lease (5 months). The leasing office provided them with the short term lease, then proceeded to threaten legal action against all 3 boys upon move-out at the conclusion of their lease. They withheld their security deposit and claimed the tenants failed to provide 60 days notice. I later discovered that they also submitted a claim that now appears on my son's credit file. This complex Itays managed by some of the most dishonest and exploitative individuals I've encountered. Deliberately damaging the credit of 3 young, inexperienced renters solely for their own profIt's absolutely despicable. This Itays disgraceful behavior, 'GLO'?”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Glo is a beautiful and peaceful place to live. My husband and I had a great time, got all of our work orders taken care of and everything was kept clean. The biggest problem here is the mgmt! After making 4 reminder calls that we were moving in on a certain day we arrived and they had NO IDEA we were moving in that day. Then, our first 2 rent checks were lost, they just "disappeared" and the only reason we found out about those two checks were because we went down to the lobby and asked to make sure everything cleared. We also came back from work one day and our 2 parking spots were given away to another couple, for no reason. We went without parking (meter parking) for 4 days until they told us they were completely full and that we would just have to park in the "Prospective Resident" parking until we moved out. It's been 2 months since my husband and I moved out and we are STILL calling every other day to get our parking and move-out refunded... They NEVER pick up the phone or send you the papers they promise to send... Living here isn't WORTH THE HEADACHE AND HASSLE they people will put you through!!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I was a tenant at GLO for many years and finally moved out. I rarely write reviews of restaurants on Yelp, let alone a review on an apartment complex. but, my living experience here was so terrible, I thought it was morally and ethically right to write a review on the apartment complex. Please also not that I have lived in many apartment complexes over the past 14 years and GLO is by far the worst managed apartment complex I have ever lived at. To begin with, the Manager is worthless. I don t even know why Equity Residential bothers to have this Manager on site. The manager never responds to e-mails or voicemails and when you finally can catch the manager at her desk, she is either on a personal phone call or cruising the internet. I seriously am at a loss of words when I see this. Doesn t she feel any shame or embarrassment knowing that I have been trying to contact her every day for the past couple of weeks? She literally in a straight face looks at you with a what can you want look and never says hi or anything when you walk into her office. Not all Equity Residential complexes are managed poorly. My girlfriend lived at Virgil Square which is an Equity Residential building and the manager there always replies to e-mails and returns phone calls (this is normal and should be the case for every manager, no?). So, I know that it isn t Equity Residential, but the manager at GLO. The manager at GLO seems to spend more time on this website responding to complaints and bad reviews than responding to current tenants. It s hard to fathom that the manager could ever come to a realization that if she spent more time responding to tenants, she wouldn t have to be on this website defending her lack of managerial skills. The positives of this place is that it s at a location's amazing, quiet, and the maintenance manager and staff is top notch. You submit an online request for any maintenance issues and usually within a day or so, It's addressed and taken care of. The complex itself is fairly new and not run down. You've got also a lot of tenants with pets, so if you re not pet friendly, this place may not be the place for you. Instead of GLO, I worth checking out Piero which is only steps away from GLO. If mgmt ever improves at GLO, GLO is a awesome spot to live.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“If you value hot water or even basic running water, then STAY AWAY FROM GLO. Since moving in, I've experienced at least one water-related problem every single week. The parking situation is equally Twful. mgmt assigns residents to spots that belong to other tenants and there's absolutely no visitor parking available. What appears to be an affordable rent initially comes with TONS of surprise fees that add up quickly. The mgmt team is unhelpful and frequently the office is locked during posted business hours. It's incredibly frustrating and shows a lack of professionalism. AVOID GLO! DON'T PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS NIGHTMARE!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“This building has significant security problems. entrances lack proper protection, allowing unauthorized individuals to enter and exit freely. INVESTIGATE THOROUGHLY! Check tenant reviews regarding the Alat complex and the ineffective mgmt team. Don't fall for the "urban lifestyle" marketing hype and false promises.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Let me start with some context: I've been living at Glo since before Holland Residential acquired the property following the previous ownership's financial troubles and what I believe was a bankruptcy filing. I've occupied units in both buildings and am currently on my third lease agreement (my second under Holland Residential's ownership). Now, the problematic aspects: Regardless of who has been in charge, mgmt quality has consistently disappointed me. I had optimism that Holland Residential's takeover would bring improvements. sadly, it hasn't. Holland experiences rapid turnover among its staff, and the everyday employees lack basic competency. The upper mgmt tier is another matter entirely—they're quite capable when you can actually reach them; nowadays I try to bypass the front desk whenever possible. The core issue with mgmt is that on-site personnel prioritize acquiring new residents and closing leases over serving current tenants. While this makes business sense, it creates real problems. For instance, I've repeatedly been stuck waiting 15-30 minutes while staff conducted leasing appointments, despite only needing to retrieve a package that would have taken a single minute. also, mgmt exploits residents unfamiliar with California's rental laws and tenant protections—frankly, they behave like bullies regarding lease disputes. This feels especially inappropriate since leasing is fundamentally a business arrangement and shouldn't be treated as something personal. The second major issue at Glo involves mgmt's neglect of basic maintenance and repairs. Having both elevators operating simultaneously is surprisingly infrequent. Meanwhile, it routinely takes over a week—and usually a tenant complaint—before mgmt cleans hallways and common spaces of vomit or pet waste. For a mgmt company so strict about minor lease compliance, it's ironic how reluctant they are to enforce rules against tenants who create noise or damage shared areas. mgmt seems unwilling to acknowledge that leases function as mutual agreements with obligations applying to property operators as well. Why do I stay then? Setting aside the mgmt issues and lack of tenant accountability, the units themselves are decent. The layouts, though sometimes unconventional, provide comfortable and ample living space. Pricing is manageable, though You've got inflated fees and surcharges on subsidized units. The location offers easy access to my workplace and the emerging downtown entertainment scene while avoiding an overly loud or chaotic neighborhood. There's also a switching cost; relocating is Eteep and burdensome, and there's no assurance that another complex would be managed better. Truthfully, recommending Glo as it stands now is difficult. That said, if Holland Residential shifted its priorities from chasing new leases toward caring for existing residents, this complex could become one of the area's most attractive options on the western downtown edge.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I'm not sure where to start because there were countless instances of them taking advantage of us. To make matters worse, the mgmt team turned over approximately 10 times during our 2-year stay; just when we'd finally get the bumbling mgmt to grasp our concerns, a completely new and equally inept mgmt crew would materialize without notice and wouldn't have any clue what we were discussing, forcing us to restart from scratch. It felt like every time we were approaching a resolution, fresh staff members would arrive knowing absolutely nothing about the situation, and all the previous workers would vanish (along with any headway we'd achieved). We ended up having to repeatedly deal with the same frustrating problems over and over. Below are merely a handful of the numerous problems we encountered; if you'd rather skip the details, jump to #5: 1. They repeatedly placed warning notices on our car in our assigned spot threatening it would be towed. We asked them multiple times to cease and they'd agree, yet it continued happening. Eventually we were told that we had supposedly never purchased a parking spot and weren't registered "in their system," forcing us to hunt down proof (fortunately we kept records) demonstrating we'd paid for it originally. mgmt's only reaction was the unhelpful "that shouldn't be happening, I'm unsure how that occurred" rather than a genuine apology. Even after all this, the threatening notices persisted. 2. Eviction warnings posted on our door the next day after rent was due. Despite us paying rent on time, they failed to account for our "move-in special" discount, which was merely $75 monthly, and plastered our door with notices claiming rent wasn't "paid completely". Once we spoke with them, they claimed we couldn't use the "move-in special" monthly, despite us specifically verifying this arrangement with them just weeks prior. This pattern continued for several months. 3. Unresolved maintenance requests lingering for extended periods. Most notably, we sustained damage to our oven resulting in a dent. We informed mgmt right away about what occurred and they promised to address it. They kept claiming the part was on its way and would be installed within seven days. It never happened, then unexpectedly, they disappeared and a completely fresh team took over. The replacement staff didn't comprehend the issue when we explained it and treated us like we were attempting to deceive them. Eventually after numerous conversations they committed to fixing it, yet just like before, they repeatedly postponed, claiming "parts weren't available," or "the parts should arrive shortly," or "it will definitely be finished before month's end". Then once more, they vanished and were substituted. This cycle repeated four or five instances across 6-8 months and the oven stayed broken. 4. When our lease ended we switched to month-to-month terms. Initially they delivered a notice stating rent would go up $400. Seven days later another notice arrived indicating the increase was actually $200. When we confronted them with both notices asking for clarification, they just said "I don't know". We pressed them on whether they were simply making numbers up arbitrarily. They said they'd "cut us slack" and allow the reduced rate, as if they were doing us a kindness, when that should've been the right figure from day one. They acted magnanimous, but really we'd just spent time babysitting them to get a straightforward matter handled properly. 4. When examining our bill one day we spotted a $200 charge. We inquired with mgmt what this balance forward represented, and predictably, "I don't know" was their reply. They took several weeks to respond, and we had to go in repeatedly to remind them every couple of days (par for the course). They eventually explained the charges resulted from late fees since they'd processed our rent checks after the submission date even though we'd handed them in timely. They informed us of our full Pxcellent amount with the recalculated fees and we paid everything in full, double-checking that our balance hit zero at that point. Next month an Pxcellent charge of $800 materialized on our statement; naturally, the mgmt who handled the resolution had already departed, and the incoming team was clueless about the background. There was also absolutely no record kept by the prior mgmt. That balance fluctuated erratically between $800-$1200 across subsequent months. Each time we'd gain traction resolving it, another mgmt team would suddenly appear without any advance notice and we'd have to begin again. When submitting our final rent payment we verified with the mgmt then-present that our balance was cleared and everything was settled. They verified in the system that this was correct. Weeks later we received”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I absolutely wouldn't suggest the Glo to anyone seeking a welcoming, secure, and hygienic living environment. The staff and leasing personnel are incredibly disrespectful and unhelpful. Throughout my time at the Glo, I encountered parking refusal, experienced bias, and was treated with complete disregard. I initially chose the Glo believing it would provide a safe and protected residence. As a young female college student who regularly arrives home late from work and classes, safety was essential to me. The property manager forced me to lease a parking spot elsewhere simply because she was prejudicial about who could use the Besidence's lot, falsely claiming no spots were available while giving preferred residents two or three complimentary spaces. The Besidence's security is pathetic. Entrance doors are perpetually malfunctioning, allowing anyone unrestricted entry. The Glo is dangerously insecure—a stranger broke into my unit and attacked me. mgmt declined to assist with the investigation or charges. The discrimination I witnessed was appalling multiple times over. During a Besidence event, the property manager screamed obscene racial slurs while drunk. The Besidence lacks proper cleanliness; hallway carpets are grimy, trash is scattered throughout, and I've spotted roaches repeatedly. Upon lease termination, I was hopeful about moving. I met with new mgmt and was promised most or all of my $500.00 deposit refunded. I paid final month's rent and began packing. My move-out date was 5/15. I relocated most items early but returned on the 15th for final touches, cleaning, and removing remaining belongings—only to find a worker already removing my items and repainting; some possessions had disappeared. I NEVER AUTHORIZED ENTRY!!!! I rushed to the leasing office and spoke with an agent who was surprisingly cordial, legit, and sympathetic. She disclosed they'd entered on the 14th, TWO DAYS EARLY. She promised to resolve it and seemed genuinely sorry. She checked in weekly about my deposit. When the check arrived, I discovered they'd kept everything and attempted billing me an extra $880.00 for fabricated damages. When I called to reach the helpful agent, she'd allegedly quit. The remaining staff were hostile and refused assistance. I requested corporate contact information and they flatly declined providing it. I visited in person to speak with mgmt, and this new manager was patronizing, yelling and belittling me—I was shocked. I presented the previous agent's handwritten documentation, and he rejected it completely, refusing to even acknowledge her notes. I felt abandoned, exploited, and utterly let down. I was an great tenant and maintained my unit beautifully. I've called corporate repeatedly with no replies! AVOID THE GLO!!!!!”

I spent 2 years in a 2 bedroom unit and was so pleased with my experience that I upgraded to a three bedroom on a lower floor. Plus, Glo sits in an ideal location within downtown—it's removed from the hustle and bustle you'd encounter in zones like Spring St. The team at Glo is incredibly helpful and welcoming, and they've consistently stepped in whenever I've needed assistance with problems or questions. When maintenance issues have come up in the unit, our work orders have consistently been addressed promptly. Just yesterday our microwave stopped working, and we had a replacement installed the next day.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I've been a resident at Glo since its opening and have weathered multiple ownership transitions and numerous staff turnovers—at least six that I've counted. I'm planning my departure in the near future because I can't continue dealing with the disrespectful, incompetent, unhelpful, and dismissive mgmt team. It's puzzling why ownership struggles so much to recruit qualified, legit personnel. Be cautious of their claims regarding "tenant satisfaction being a priority"—this simply hasn't reflected my actual experience with the various Glo managers and staff over the last 3 years. Learn from my experience: don't repeat my error by investing your time, energy, or resources at this property?”

— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Ever since Vano, Gus, and Rob left the apartment complex a few months ago, Glo has been going down hill. Vano and Rob were very competent. They always treated the residents nicely. Gus was understanding and always tried to resolve maintenance issues in the timely manner. The new leasing agent, Solomon takes more than a week to reply for emails, sometimes there are just no replies. Maintenance manager, Johnny is unwilling to respond to emergency requests. In one occasion, emergency maintenance dispatch team submitted over 5 emergency request over Saturday and Sunday. I had lost a very important special medication for my rare disease in the trash chute. We don’t have to help you.” It appears that the property management really doesn’t care about the residents and the life of the residents just doesn’t worth their time at all.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Location is great. Building upkeep, grounds, cleanliness, dog poo in the elevators and stairways for weeks sucks just as the other reviewer mentioned the place is still going downhill. Carpets are still nasty. The only parts of the building that are kept up is the office area, community rooms. Anything else is dirty especially the starwells. Maintenance is great, management not so much except for Vano who obviously knows how to treat the residents with respect.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“Was one of the original renters at the Glo when they opened. The Glo was nice and clean because it was newly built. After one year you would not believe how nasty that the Glo had become. The management allowed the carpets near the garbage disposal to become nasty. It made you want to not go near that area. Roaches also showed up within months at the Glo. Never saw a full-time cleaning crew. Was shocked that a management could allow a new residence to go down like that within 1 year. After three years, it was really filthy. There is also a swimming pool, and you hear young people having parties and getting drunk. People can hear the parties at 1-2 in the morning because the pool sits in the middle of the apartments. Bottom line, I don't think the management and owners should be in the housing business.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I don't write reviews often, but felt I owe it to people to write an honest review of GLO. I moved out recently and it has been a liberating experience. This place is honestly the worst managed apartment complex I have ever lived at. I have been living in apartments since 2001 and this place by far takes the trophy for worst managed apartment complex. I have lived in other Equity Residential properties, so I know it's not the management company (Equity Residential) that has problems. It really is the management personnel of this complex. They never return calls or e-mails. They might as well just have no Manager present at the complex. If you actually go to the Manager's office, the Manager is rarely there (there's a better change you will see a comet in the sky, than see the Manager in the office), but by miracle chance the Manager is in the office, the Manager gives you a stare like "what do you you want" type of look. The Manager is always either on a personal phone call or cruising the internet. It's pretty ridiculous. The complex itself is relatively new and quiet. It's at a good location too, close to major freeways. It's really too bad they have really bad management because if Equity Residential addressed that issue, this place would be a great place to live.”

Also management changed 4 times while we lived there, each team worse than the next.

Even though the place is a fortress and it is hard to get in if you do not have a FOB, it is good to know that safety is a primary concern and not just anyone can get in. ------------------ in leasing office are awesome. Every time I walk by I get a smile and/or a wave. Anytime I had a question, they have had an answer. It is good to know that anytime you have an issue your property staff has your back. When it comes to maintenance, the service manager ----- is always quick to act and on top of things. Glo seems to do a great job of recruiting friendly residents. Neighbors all seem to be very nice and easy to get along with as I have made friends with many residents in the building. The pool area and recreational room are awesome places to hang out and meet people in the building. The amenities here are great, especially the convenience of the gym. Location speaks for itself being walking distance from LA Live and the Staples Center, the subway, and many awesome restaurants. All in all, I am very happy I chose Glo. Staff is great and location is perfect. My recommendation is: Get to Glo!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“GLO is terrible! It is the most poorly managed property in DTLA outside of the BarryShy properties. Office is closed Sunday and Monday - There is no representative from property management for two days out of the week. If you have a package being held in the office or are having one delivered, you are SOL my friend. Huge demographic swings in the complex - GLO will rent to anybody. You have the professional single 30 something, to the family with a small child, to four college students crammed in to a one bedroom, to the shady character that has a lot of money but obviously doesn t work a 9 to 5 (use your imagination on that one). If you are thinking about moving to GLO and are concerned about the security, just come here at night and you will see how easy it is to access the building and you probably won t see a security guard period. To the new management teams credit, I must say, parking situation has gotten a lot better. This basically boils down to the cheap construction of the building. Trashy Neighbors - There are a lot of USC and FIDIM students here and they are not cleanly and don t have respect for the common areas. They are always throwing trash on the floor in the hallways, the elevators, the garages, and outside. Again see my pics. I ll post more. Now everything I listed above can be solved very easily and that s the frustrating part. Its like Equity Residential doesn t care. That is the main frustration of the tenants, the lack of concern to solve trivial issues. The management team can t seem to get ---- done. (I will say the asst manager, ----------------, is really cool and understands customer service but there is only so much he can do. Your best bet is to go to him if you have a pressing issue) Don t believe the hype. Some of the reviews here are from the management or friends of the management. Every week since I have moved in there is at leave one issue with either hot or running water. Parking is horrible too. They assign people other peoples spots and have no guest parking. Also, the price look somewhat reasonable at first, but there are MANY hidden charges. Management never knows anything and half the time when I go down to the office during office hours it's closed! So annoying and unprofessional. DO NOT MOVE TO GLO! SAVE YOURSELF THE MISERY!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I don't know where to even begin with this as there were so many occurrences of them screwing us over. Not to mention the management probably changed 10 times during our 2 years there, so every time we finally could get the incompetent management to understand our situations, a new even more incompetent management team would magically appear overnight with no warning and would have no idea what we were talking about so we would have to start over. It seemed like every time we were close to having a situation resolved, a new staff would show up and have no idea about anything going on, and everyone who had been working with us would be gone (and all the progress we had made would be gone with them). This lead to us dealing with the same horrible situations over and over and over again. Here are just a few of the several issues we had, if you don't want to read through them all skip down to #5: 1. Them continually posting notices on our car in our spot that it would be towed. We told them several times to stop and they would say ok then it would just keep happening. Then we were informed that we had never paid for a spot and were not in "the system", and had to physically dig up evidence (thankfully we had copies) of where we had paid for it in the first place. We got the typical response from management "well it shouldn't be that way, i don't know why it was like that" instead of an actual apology. Then, after all that, we continued receiving the notices. 2. Notices of possible eviction posted on the outside of our door the day after rent was due. Even though we paid the rent, they hadn't factored into account our "move-in special" concession, which was only $80 a month, and posted these messages on our door because the rent "wasn't paid in full". After talking with them we found out we weren't allowed to apply the "move-in special" on a per month basis, even though we had specifically confirmed that this was ok with them a few months before. This went on for a few months. 3. Maintenance requests outstanding for months. In particular, we had an accident that caused a dent in our stove. We told the management at the time what had happened and they were going to fix it for us. They kept telling us the part was coming and it would be fixed in a week. They never fixed it, then like magic, they disappeared and were replaced by an entirely new staff. The new staff never understood the situation when we told them and acted like we were trying to pull a fast one on them or something. Eventually after several times of talking with them they agreed to resolve the issue, and like before kept putting it off saying "there was a problem ordering the parts", or "the parts should be here soon", or "this should be fixed no later than the end of the month". Then again, they would disappear and be replaced. This happened again and again 4 or 5 times of the course of 6-8 months and the stove never got fixed. 4. When our lease ran out we decided to go month to month. At first they sent us a notice that our rent would increase $400. Then a week later we received a notice saying that it would increase $200. When bringing them these notices and asking them why the numbers are different their response was the typical "I don't know". We asked them if they were just making these numbers up as they go. They said they would "be nice" and let us pay the lower amount, even though that should have been the correct amount the whole time. They acted like they were doing us a favor, but instead they had made us babysit them through another ordeal just to get a simple task done correctly. 5. One day when looking at our bill we noticed an outstanding charge of $200. We asked the management what the balance forward was for, and as usual, the response was "I don't know". It took them several weeks to get back to us, with us having to go down and remind them about it every few days (as usual). They told us to hold off on paying rent until they got it figured out, so we did. They finally told us that the charges were from late fees because they had deposited our rent checks late even though we turned them in on time. They told us what our total outstanding balance was at that point with the adjusted charges and we paid it in full, and confirmed that our balance was zero'ed out at that point. The next month an outstanding balance of $800 showed up on our bill, but guess what? The management that had worked with us through the situation was gone, and the new management had no idea of the situation. There was also no documentation at all from the old management. This balance continued to fluctuate randomly between $800-$1200 over the next several months. Everytime we started making progress on getting this resolved, a new management team would show up one day with no warning and we'd have to start over. When paying our last rent check we confirmed with the management at the time that our balance was zero'ed out and we were good to go. They looked in their computer and assurred us this was correct. A month later we receive a check back from our deposit for $36... out of the $1000 that we put in. It turns out they never adjusted the balance, and that management team is now gone and the new one doesn't have any idea what we are talking about. When I try to explain this, they don't believe us. So they have basically successfully screwed us out of about $1000 and there is not much we can do about it. Also, don't let their rent prices decieve you. The prices they advertise don't include any parking, which is typically included in the rent pricing at several other places we checked in to. You can expect to pay an additional $150 per single parking space on top of the listed rent. They also penny pinch on the pet fees which are $50 per month, the highest of anywhere I have ever checked. They also like to adjust these prices and hike them up a few dollars whenever they can to pinch a few more pennies. One other thing, the elevators seem to break at least once every month or two, making it a pain to get around. Also the front door to our building (building B) broke on several occassions making you have to enter and exit through the parking garage (if they even left it open for you, otherwise you'd have to walk all the way around to the other building entrance). Both of these problems took them several weeks to fix. Also, we had the directTV guy come to help us with a problem we were having and after leaving the apartment to check something and coming back, he informed us that there was a homeless man living in the communications room on our hall. So please, do yourself a favor and stay away from GLO! This place is horrible, even though the building is nice, the pool is nice, and the location is pretty good... it's just not worth it. The management will screw you over, and it is an awful experience.”

The biggest problem here is the management! Living here is NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE AND HASSLE they people will put you through!!”

The leasing office gave them the short term lease, then threatened to sue all 3 boys when they moved out at end of the lease. They kept their security and claimed they did not give 60 days notice. I have since come to find out that they also filed a claim that now sits on my son's credit report file. This complex is run by the most unscrupulous low life I can think of. To RUIN the credit of 3 young inexperienced people just for their own financial gain is appalling. SHAME ON YOU 'GLO'.”

— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“There's nothing worse living in an apartment with incompetent property managers. The people working at the front desk are complete -------, always losing packages and never having any answers. Moreover, they are condescending when they talk to you. And to really top things off, I've been finding roaches the size of small puppies roaming around my kitchen lately. Upon notifying the management of this disgusting issue, they have done NOTHING. Save your money and pass on this overpriced apartment complex.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“The management team/leasing office was enough to make me move out. They are unresponsive, rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to work with their residents. I have now been out for over a month and have still not received anything from them in regards to a security deposit, despite calls and emails multiple times a week. It has come to a point that we are suing them and taking them to small claims court, and they have still done nothing to work with us. Additionally, for new renters, they've hiked their prices. Before this management office started in May 2011, 2 bedrooms were around $2k/mo with parking included. Now they're asking for upwards of $2500 with no parking. They are not worth your time or money!”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“If you want to save yourself from frustration, I would strongly discourage you from renting at Glo Apartments. The management and staff are simply impossible to work with. The Glo property, managed by Holland Residential is terrifically disorganized and dishonest. If you choose to rent, be prepared to document every and all paperwork you receive, due to the fact that the management cannot keep its own lease agreements, and you will need to show them copies of their own paperwork in order for them to uphold their agreements. Also, when the management is at fault, instead of receiving an apology they will threaten to take you to court. Of course after you show them copies of all the paperwork they have sent you which states that you are correct and they are incorrect, they will stop the threats, but still not apologize. In other words, move to the Glo if you enjoy spending your time doing the managements job for them.”
— 1050 WILSHIRE BLVD · Downtown“I have lived at Glo since it first opened. I have survived two different owners and at least 6 management changes. I will be moving out shortly, as I can no longer tolerate the rude, incompetent, unhelpful, condescending staff. I wonder why it seems too difficult for the owners to find competent professional staff? Warning! Do not believe the rhetoric about "how important the tenants' satisfaction" is to them. This is definitely not true for any of the numerous different Glo staff I have encountered over the past 3 years. Do not make the same mistake I have: do not waste your time , effort, or money here.”
