“FRAUD WARNING! We submitted an apartment application through Vero Technologies for Jia Apartments. Paid $668.70, including a $600 deposit. Our application was denied, and we were promised a refund within 7–10 business days. Weeks later — no refund. This is outright consumer fraud and scam. Jia Apartments management ignores the issue and refuses to return the deposit. Avoid this place if you value your money.”
— 639 N BROADWAY · LOS ANGELES“I do not recommend living at this complex. During my stay in the Jia apartments, I got extremely dissatisfied with the service and living there, which I then left as soon as my lease was over. every work order that I created for any issues would be ignored. I would have to send many emails, which were ignored and then go personally talk in the office about it. Since they ignore your emails after you are living there already, you will always have to go to the office. This sometimes might be hard as one of the elevators was broken for 9 out of the 13 months I was living there and was still broken when I left. The parking lot is also very smelly, and I do recommend you check it as you will be smelling that every morning. The gym is also not maintained at all and there are never wipes, alcohol or anything there. Finally, the front gate is never there, allowing anyone to enter the apartment and there are a LOT of homeless people around the complex. Once I decided to leave, it was more unlucky surprises. I was told to leave the apartment clean to avoid charges and was still charged a fee for it anyways as they said they do for all apartments. They also made me think that I would receive my holding deposit back but that was not sure. I had many problems with them not following what they said, I recommend you get everything in email to be electronically recorded for future use. This is my review of the Jia apartments, and I can say it was one of the worst apartments I have ever lived.”
“This is worst place I’ve ever lived at in Los Angeles. They went up on my rent in one year 22%. I don’t even know if that is eligible. I’m going to fight that. Their staff is horrible. They do not fix anything in time. I have repair issues that’s been submitted 6 months. The grounds are trashy. They don’t clean up the grounds. They want the tenants to clean up the grounds. You call for help they staff in the office are very lazy. Will not do anything. I’ve been here two years and it’s been 3 managers. They don’t have security. Homeless are roaming the hallways trying to break into people’s apartment. The homeless are constantly in the arming structure leaving trash every where. I had water leak in my apartment because the water heater went out it took them 3 weeks to fix it. They didn’t even want to pay for an hotel for me. I had to fight them for that, but it’s their issues and it should have been taking care of. Outdated gym, the pool never works. It’s almost folks taking showers in the pool area bathroom. You have homeless folks roaming around the apartment inside and outside. The trash room is full of trash. I’m serious pass up on this apartment. They nickel and dime you to death with there fees too. Rent, parking and then some community fee that’s $90 plus a month. Don’t call corp. they are disrespectful and don’t care. They will not move on anything. Never help you. But they want your money.”
— 639 N BROADWAY · LOS ANGELES“The head security is a good man. Very alert. The neighborhood is safe. It's quiet inside my studio. I am able to get a lot of work done. The maintenance guys are incredibly hard working. They work round the clock and they fix things good the first time around. The amenities are abundant. We have a community swimming pool and barbeque. The other residents are all really cool. Awesome place to live. A bit expensive but what do you expect in such a awesome place”
— 639 N BROADWAY · LOS ANGELES“The building is new thats the only good thing about this place. Meaghan, Alex, and Art are the people in charge of this place. It extremely hard to get hold of them. You leave multiple voice mails, some of them which they promise to call you back before a certain time. They never do. Not answering is one thing, but it is unprofessional to make a promise and break it. We had a few cockroaches in our room. Not the regular kind. The massive LA downtown sewer type. It's unbelievable out of all places here. A few months ago our complex was shut down because of a gunman. A lot of LAPD officers came and closed several entrances. Theres a new "community center" next door. Its fair to say its a Buddhist temple more than a community center. On Chinese new years they were really rude and loud up to 12 midnight. Cymbals, dancing, and firecrackers. I do not recommend because of management and the neighborhood. I regret moving here.”
— 639 N BROADWAY · LOS ANGELES“Overpriced, callous management, broken air conditioning in the gym all the time, amenities that close at 10 PM (for some dumb reason), ant infestations in the apartments (even though this is a brand new building),multiple break-ins in the parking garage, fights in the hallways. In short, do NOT move in here.”
— 639 N BROADWAY · LOS ANGELES“As the first resident of Jia, I can honestly say that I am extremely satisfied with my overall experience with the property and management team. I would highly recommend this property to any professional looking to live in the downtown area seeking housing with a stylish flare. The property management team has been amazing and I cannot say enough nice things about them. My unit overlooks Broadway and I originally assumed that it might receive a lot of noise from the busy street however the building is constructed in such a way that limits noise from the outside. The gym is amazing and overlooks the pool and spa. Both the pool and spa as well as all social areas are equipped with WiFi.”
