When the Hermoyne Maintenance Man breaks a pipe in the unit above and the water floods in like a water fall...They take there time to fix the hole (a week) and tell you to claim the damages on your renters insurance. Nice...if I claimed every flood I've had (4), my renters insurance would go through the roof. The Hermoyne Apartment's do not take responsibility for their mistakes and cause their tenants major inconveniences along with pain and suffering. I would hight NOT RECOMMEND THE HERMOYNE APARTMENTS!!! It's a nightmare...literally.”

In the underground parking garage there is NO emergency exit, so with that said if there was an earthquake and the power went out you would be TRAPPED in the BASEMENT with no way out. Oh, wait there is one doorway that leads you through a dusty creepy dark room filled with supplies for the building, HOWEVER this door is always LOCKED!! So there is no way out!!! Sounds crazy but it's true. Also the door in the laundry room has a door that leads to the outside that no one is suppose to use, however door knob has no handle and is being blocked by a folding table...WOW now if that doesn't make you feel unsafe. This building is being worked on for the sole purpose of making a $$$, because there is no care for the people once they sign there leases. This building has fire hazzards as well as a CONSTANT and ON-GOING dirty construction site. The Owner has no regard for the tenants ability to have a peaceful life.....They care only about the $$$ and will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you suckered into moving in here at the Hermoyne Apts. in prestegious Handcock Park Rossmore Street Address, but I tell you it's a shame. The place is always dirty and dusty....The daily maintenence is not present. When something goes wrong with your apartment it will take forever to get it fixed....all the while you can hear how hard they are working to "fix up" the new apartments for new tenants to bring in their hard earned money, only to find out that you've been suckered. This is NOT A SECURED building even though they say it is. ANYONE can enter the premises from an unlocked door located by the trash dumpsters right in front of the building on Rossmore Avenue. This unlocked door can get you onto the grounds by the outdoor parking as well as access to the pool area and the DOOR WITH NO LOCK OR KNOB. I don't think this building is safe, so if you decide to live hear I would suggest making sure you have adequate protection for yourself, because you absolutely cannot depend on management or the owners at this time to ensure your safety even when these issues have been brought to the managers attention. Random homeless people are seen often climbing through the trash....which simply means they have entered what is suppose to be a secured premises. They aren't cheap appartments but they are ran close to the way a slum lord would run there business: "Say what you have to...to get the money" and "tough luck after that". There are so many nicer buildings in the area that really do care about there tenants. Every day people complain about the building. Whenever I run into someone in the elevators or the laundry room....people are frustrated with paying these BIG PRICES with no care for a clean, safe and quiet environment to live. Tenants have rights and I wouldn't be surprised if they banned together to contest the aweful treatment they've received while paying as much as $2,300.00 for a one bedroom per month. Pretty greedy I think. God is watching....so my job is to educate the reviewer so maybe one less person will get suckered by this apartment complex's lies. They promise to fix the ugly dirty hallways....that was 1 1/2 years ago. And the best one is a concierge, which is a total joke considering the "Manager" who's suppose to be on site in "His Office" between the hours of 10am-5pm is almost NEVER in his office. The women who front that they own the building are nasty women who are only after your money. If you have a legitimate complaint they will call you "Ungrateful like the rest". YOU DECIDE!!! — 569 N. ROSSMORE AVE. · LOS ANGELES“The management of this property has zero ethics and zero integrity. After the "NEW OWNER" took over the Hermoyne they promised the moon. Twenty four hour on site security, upgraded amenities, refurbished building, etc... Now the fun begins. This is a building constucted in the late 1920's. The tenants sign leases reflecting the knowledge that the building contains lead based paint and yet for more than a year the tenants have been exposed to a constant dust cloud drifting about the hallways as construction workers jack hammer and sand walls to their delight. In addition, the tenants enjoy having the building's water supply shut down for "Emergency repairs". However, they are simply shutting it off to "upgrade" the plumbing in the newly rennovated units without any comensation to existing tenants. Not to mention that eight hours a day five days a week the building rattles and shakes from the constant construction. But wait there's more... One recent fine night we returned home to find a healthy water leak coming from our ceiling. After calling management they said they would be out the next day. Imagine that leak just dripping away for ten hours. The flood managed to soak the ceiling, the walls and the carpet. After three weeks of repairs in which they refused other accomadations even though the entire unit smelled if mold, they futher added insult to injury by refusing to replace our ruined personal items saying, "it was an act of God". I then discovered the next day that a construction worker who was "upgrading" the adjoing unit had punched a hole in a main water pipe with his jackhammer. I do not beleive that would constitute GOD. This place continues to lie to it's tenants regarding mold in the building even though independent tests have concluded that there is a presence of black mold. I do not recommend that ANYONE rent at this property!”
