“Great spot to live and shop if you work in DTLA or Hollywood. I moved here for work in 2017 and choosing this home was one of the best decisions I made. Manager and maint staff are very responsive, friendly and professional”

“We've been living here since 2004, and have really enjoyed not only the apartment itself, but friendly neighbors, attentive service and the superb location. Hancock Park is a million dollar neighborhood in the coveted 3rd street school district. So while one is saving for that 1.1M bungalow, the Chelsea Court apartments are a nice place to call home. Positives - rooftop heated pool, walking distance to Larchmont Street, garage parking, about a mile (or so) to the Grove and Pan Pacific Park, and close to the 101 freeway.”

“From '96 to '08 there have been good years and bad years. Currently the living is improving: elevator and laundry upgrades, in-building recycling bins, the conversion of a uselessly small store-room into good-sized bike storage, upgrading the roof-top grill. I'm not sure if all the good ideas can be credited to current manager John Swetnam, but he certainly deserves credit for follow-though. Since his arrival, things that get broken get fixed, usually pretty quickly. The building has been lucky to not be near any of the major earthquakes since it's construction, so has never had any major damage. The building sits on the uphill side of the street, and has never had the flooding problems that the west side of the block has. That said, the building has a few drawbacks- -The plumbing requires a major overhaul at least once a year. -Getting side-by-side parking will take years of residency. -The South and West-facing apartments can be very hot unless you're will to spend a significant amount on your monthly A/C bill. - The South and West-facing apartments can be noisy due to street traffic or from the echo-chamber effect of the building opposite. - The North-facing apartments do not have much of a view. - During the rainy season, at least the top floor will have leaks, and hidden plumbing leaks have caused damage from the 5th all the way to the 2nd sometimes. -From August through October, Argentine ants are present anywhere there is water or food, which means less then sterile kitchens and less than arid bathrooms develop tiny caravans. -There are 2 or 3 newer buildings on the same block that offer slightly better amenities for slightly higher prices. All in all, the building is neither the best nor worst on it's block, and it's price per unit is competitive with the neighborhood. As long as the manager remains attentive and professional, this is nice living.”

“Previous criticisms by others are fully warranted, but the fact is that it's a nice place to live nevertheless, because the apartments themselves are nice and the location is great. Basic maintenance is performed regularly. <br><br>It is true that the manager (Ray) is slow, unresponsive and often defensive/hostile. I believe he may no longer be there (I moved a few months ago). It is true that mailboxes have been broken into several times, and need to be replaced with sturdy ones; I can't understnad why management won't take action on this. Yes, there was a fire--but it was the fault of the renter, not managment, and it was contained in one unit; this could have happened in any building anywhere.<br><br>Residents vary from singles to families, generally a decent group of people.<br><br>Bottom line: if they recarpeted the whole building (which one review claims has happened since I moved) and got a new and responsive manager (which may have happened), Chelsea Court could be a very nice place to live.”

“I lived at Chelsea Court Apartments for almost five years and found it to be a great place to live. Not only is it centrally located to just about everything, the Manager there, Ray, was a great help when I was moving in, while I was there, and when I move out. In fact I wish I had Ray at my new apt complex, because Ray knows what he's doing, alot out there don't.”

“I'm not sure who you are, and when it's sent without name, makes me wonder. I've been here since 1988, and I have never heard of any muggings in this building or even in the neighborhood. The building is WELL run, Ray the manager is a CAM manger. You can say what you want but he runs a great building, and everyone is treated fairly and honestly. Maybe the bee in your panties is because you broke some of the House Rules, and if that's the case bravo Ray!!! Don't take my word for it, come by and check it out for yourself.”

“Lived in 5 cities and multiple apts, this place is shear hell. Avoid it like the plauge. Break ins, muggings, fires, poor screening of tenants all leads to this being the worst place you could possibly live in LA. The Landlord is a pain to deal with as well. Better off living in a box on Vine...seriously. I urge you not to live hear. 2:30 AM as I type this on Monday morning and I'm still up because of tenants noise.”
