“Do NOT move here unless you’re desperate. The private owners only use tenants as a cash grab and avoid responsibility wherever they can. Unless you bug manager endlessly, you won’t see issues resolved for months. Prices are a big rip off for the quality of the building. Rent process is also shady, taken out by ACH automatically with no website. The amenities advertised are phony: The quarter-only laundry machine doesn’t work (many residents do their laundry offsite), the back patio is filthy/never cleaned (cobwebs on the community BBQ, stains on chairs), and safety is up for debate when there are cameras, but the door to the back patio is often left unlocked. Also, the “nice” kids that live at the family home to the right play and scream (no exaggeration here) outside at all hours of the day. Finding street parking is a neighborhood wide issue so not their fault but be aware. Understand that you are paying only for your space and nothing else. People move in and out often and now I know why.”

The apartments do have beautiful wood floors, but every last detail of the apartment, from appliances to window treatments is Ikea - not only Ikea, but the cheapest available finds at Ikea - therefore: everything is falling apart. The security cameras are a nice addition, but let it be known that TWICE in March 2013 an armed shooter ran through the building during their attempt to outrun the cops. How'd they get in you ask? Easy. While there is a locked gate outside the building, six feet to the right of it is an unlocked gate. And the front door to the building has the ability to close about 20% of the time. While it may seem charming that the front of the building is lit solely by Christmas lights, we went two weeks with no lights at all -ie nearly total darkness- because the landlord hadn't gotten around to ordering new ones yet. Which it should be pointed out that the people who own and run this building are terrible and unresponsive. For example: one of two washers in the basement broke and they said they couldn't fix it because in a contract with the people they bought the building from it says that the washers and dryers cannot be removed and/or tampered with. Completely bogus. Also, when showing the building to a group of people the didn't care to introduce, they knocked on my door and didn't even ask if I would mind showing my home to complete strangers, unannounced. They walked, all 8 of them, right in, and proceeded to look around freely. Bottom line: they don't care at all about their tenants. They're money hungry -------s. Don't waste your time and money on this place. No one who lives here ever renews and gets out as soon as their lease is up.”
“Huh, haven't had any of these issues, except that it IS street parking - it's Silverlake - if you want a underground lot, move to the Valley LOL. Besides I haven't really had an issue finding a spot except during street cleaning. The apartment was remodeled and looks beautiful - definitely one of the best I've seen in the area when I was looking. Most of my neighbors are at work all the time, so it's pretty quiet and I actually like the security cameras - makes me feel safer.”
