“Old smelly building with no amenities. It’s noisy and management is irresponsible and unprofessional. Looks like a literal haunted house. Could probably get a way better apt for the same price somewhere else”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I love this building. Not only is it in a great location, but it has the best views on Wilshire. The concierge, valets, maintenance, and management staff are all extremely helpful and kind. Great experience all around! Patricia Semprun”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I have lived in this apartment for a year and everything was great. First the view from the window has made me relax everyday. Second, everybody is so friendly, they would help you with anything. If I could I would put a 10 star. Third, the room is nice and clean and also huge. Fourth, the place is on Wilshire and I always walk to work in Centry City but I feel safe. Fifth, the maintenance people would fix anything and they are very nice. I had to move because of my work, but if I was able to stay longer I would have been here as long as I could.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I have lived here since 2011, and I have loved every single moment of it. I initially lived in a studio but then upgraded to a 1 bedroom with an amazing view of Wilshire Blvd. The staff here are always willing to help, and although it has its share of maintenance issues (as every single building does), the team is always on it ASAP. Every little thing from a lightbulb exchange to unclogging my bathtub because of my hair is done by the time I get home. The place is clean, well-kept, and generally very quiet. The elevators are older, but they work fine with no issues. The gym was recently remodeled, and I actually cancelled my other gym membership because it had all the equipment and machines I needed. The location is fantastic, and I've been able to commute to work, visit friends in Hollywood/downtown, go to the beach all so very quickly and easily. Sure, the police sirens are loud, but if you make the conscious decision to live on the corridor, you in essence are consenting to hear that. I'm only leaving because I'm relocating to another state, but I will say that I emphatically recommend this building to others. I always felt safe and comfortable in my building, and there are currently no sketchy doormen or valetmen that the other reviews talked about. Everyone here is respectful, kind, and so willing to help. I love 10401 and really will miss it greatly!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I have been at 10401 Wilshire for 2 years. Previously I lived in a single family home and was nervous about apartment living. I was happily surprised with 10401. The doormen are all courteous and protective. As a single woman I feel completely safe. When my friends and sons come to visit they can valet park. I use the gym regularly. The building is beautifully maintained and quiet. And the location is central and ideal. I can get to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica or the valley easily. When I have any maintenance problem the maintenance staff is on it immediately. I would recommend this building to any of my friends (and I do!)”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“Perfect Place to live...This has been my home for the last six years and I couldn't be happier. Sometimes I even walk to work at Century City, it's just a perfect location. I love, love, love the 24 hour doorman!! My apartment is the best and I never get tired of looking out any of my windows. Just the other day it was raining and it was amazing looking at the clouds, but most days it's all about the sunshine,my neighbors have been here even longer than I have!! The manager is very professional and I appreciate how well she runs the building and supervises her staff, plus they are all like my family now! Over the years there have been a few doorman and valet who were not so nice but now they really seem to have the friendliest staff ever. If you are looking to move to the Corridor I highly recommend this building, you will not be dissapointed.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“This place is a dump! Manager is terrible and very two-faced. She seems nice at first to get you in there, then has no interest in your problems. IF she likes you, she'll secretly allow you to have a cat. Valets damage cars daily and take no responsibility. The old doorman and valet are very rude. The manger treats the tenants like children and her staff like dogs. Maintenance department has no idea what they are doing. There's always heat problems, water leaks from units above, sinks overflow, elevators always broken. The noise is awful! Police and firetrucks sirens all day outside and tenants music inside. The smell from tenants cooking and smoking marijuana and is awful. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“AMAZING AMAZING PLACE. The ONLY reason I left was that I wanted a pet. The staff is amazing, issues are fixed quickly. My tub was leaking, so they replaced the whole fixture with a brand new one the next day, while I was at work. Barbara does an amazing job making this place run like a well oiled machine. I felt like I was living at a hotel. Also, this is a very nice place and I left some damage to the walls when I left and all they charged me for was a cleaning fee. SUPER fair with security deposit , which is very rare in LA!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I am a professional business person who works in Century City for a large firm and it is highly important to me to come home to a good environment. I have been a tenant at 10401 wilshire since 2010 and I am so proud of the building and where I live. One of my very good friends is a realtor and shows condos on the Wilshire Corridor all the time and she is constantly impressed at how well maintained , clean and professionally run this building is. From time to time I have business associates who meet me here and they constantly tell me how impressive 10401 Wilshire is. This has been the best place to call home and most likely I will remain here for many years. I cannot express to anyone moving in that this really is a wonderful place that is run first class. Sure not every building is perfect but 10401 Wilshire is consistent with the upkeep of the building. Whenever I have had a maintenance issue it has always been addressed and the staff are so nice and professional. At the end of the day I cannot wait to get home. If you can live here you should!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“Do not rent here! The noise was almost as bad as the ridiculous rent. You will hear every firetruck, police siren, bus, horn, etc. The tenants are also loud, unpleasant, and the floors stink. The manager and staff are incompetent or not available if you have a problem. The doorman and valet are rude and unhelpful during the day. Parking was always a hassle. The valet in the evening was always leering at my female guests and apparently doesn't even have a drivers license. They say NO PETS, but cats are ok for some. The maintenance department is terrible and does shoddy work. I never trusted them inside my apartment. The place seems safe during the day, but at night the grounds and parking lot is very dark.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“Building looks ok from outside but not really clean inside your place. Nice doorman people but very rude leasing consultants. Some they cannot even hear you (80 yrs plus) old.I am surprised why they have such people there. Overall its too pricy and most fb you see here are from employees I guess.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I have lived at 10401 Wilshire for several months and am consistently amazed with the value of this building! My last place was $1000 more down the street in a newer building. I had constant leaks, a terrible view, and the quality of the cabinets was so cheap. My apartment at the 10401 Wilshire building has a gorgeous view of Bel Air, excellent finishes, and (knock on wood) no leaks. The one difference was that I had a washer-dryer in my previous apartment. Now that I've moved to 10401 Wilshire, I hired a maid who does my laundry and apartment cleaning for $250/month. So I feel like I'm saving $750 and I never have to do laundry or clean again! Also, all utilities are included so you can truly budget your accommodation expenses. Also, the staff is first class so you feel like you're living at a Country Club. The other day, I arrived with a car full of luggage after returning from vacation and the valets rushed to greet me and unload my car. They are professional yet extremely courteous and welcoming. They always call me to let me know when my guests arrive so I'm never surprised and my guests love them because of the free valet. Great building - would recommend to my friends and family!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“The doorman with the blonde hair who works the afternoon shift is very nice and polite. He deserves a raise!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I moved to this place in Dec 2011 and I love it and I will be here until my job relocates me. One of my co-workers moved to this place. I have lived in Washington DC, Alabama, Ohio and most recently Kansas City. I work in Brentwood. There are many positives of living here. The thirteen things that I light to highlight are the following: 1). Online payment for rent 2). They have hotel carts for your groceries and luggage available at the loading docks. 3). Helpful and Honest Staff - I told them I was light sleeper and I was advised to get an apartment facing Bel Air/Sunset. I also was told to use the Valet service since it is included in the rent. You don't have to call down for your car but if you want it quickly and timely you should call at least five minutes in advance. 4). Most people in the building are friendly and speak; There are high profile people in the building and they still speak and help other tenants 5). Professional Staff - there are some problems keeping some good valet operators 6). Elevator dedicated to moving in and out 7). It is easy to find due to its color and street corner 8). All utilities included 9). Dry Cleaning Service 10).Trash Chutes 11). Doorman can collect packages for you 12). Your guests/visitors/family don't have to find parking or pay for parking!!!! Many other places I looked at before moving into 10401 told me Guest/Visitors would have to find street parking or pay for parking or use 1-2 hour free parking at Starbucks, Ralphs etc. So, I'm happy all of my guest can give the Valet their keys and not worry about feeding the meter or finding parking that is not permit restricted...so cool! 13). Security, security , security....My wife was stopped during the first few weeks because they didn't recognize her and the graveyard shift man stopped me a few times before they realize who I was so they know the resident and they know when and who to stop. They also make the food delivery personal check in and also only use the service elevator. 13 ). The rent increases are very small unlike DC where rent increases make you cry! The eight things that some people don't like about the building: 1). Left hand turn can be complicated when leaving during high traffic times 2). No Swimming Pool 3). Outdated fitness center 4). No central air; you have window units 5). Mandatory storage of your bike in garage. You are not allowed to take your bike to your apartment even for maintenance. 6). Old Elevator...just give yourself an extra five minutes and you will be okay 7). UCLA Ronald Reagan Life Flight Helicopter and Busy Fire Station at Sunset and Beverly Glen 8). Time Warner is the only option no AT&T no DISH/Satellite”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“***What attracted me to this building and why I am generally happy with it: -Management is very friendly and attentive -Mostly really nice people live here -Updated units -Most staff are nice -Gym, albeit small, at least there's one in the building (closes at 11PM) -It's not Westwood -The unit I'm in faces east, I get the awesome morning sun -Online rent ***The stuff that makes me consider leaving after a year: -One of the evening/night shift doormen/valet is rude. One occasion that comes to mind is when I didn't know I couldn't leave my car in the front for a quick second. He raises his voice to explain the rules as I go into the elevator. Dude, my key is in the cabinet, you may park it anywhere [valet...] -Wilshire traffic = noisy 24/7. Some people even insist on peeling out, to those who do it, nobody thinks your special, stop. -Occasionally my neighbor blasts Middle Eastern music in the middle of the night, as in 11PM-2AM, right when my REM cycle is about to pick up. -My parking spot happens to be in the uncovered section, outside, under trees = dirty fast -Bike's must be parked in the inside garage, which isn't an issue, but what is: it's difficult to find an open spot without moving some of the other bikes aside -The hallway where my apt is located smells like old sourdough bread. The other floors have their own weird smells. Except the entrance, it smells normal. -One of the closets in my apt. gives me a headache when I open it. I don't know if it's the paint or something else. -Plaster walls ***All in all though, I am happy I chose this building. The positives really outweigh the annoying stuff.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I am shocked and saddened by the way things left what I thought was a good experience. The Manager swindled us out of our Security Deposit ($525). I spoke with her multiple times in regards to what we needed to do to receive compensation back to our Deposit. She deferred that "Corporate" is really good at issuing those back as soon as possible. However, once we received in the mail, we were charged $8 of our own Security Deposit to have the "certified mail" sent back to us. On top of that, they have their own Maintenance crew to repair any damages on site, but we were billed the full deposit, and key deposit (we returned the keys!) for damages and repairs, which were small holes for the mounted TVs that we could've patched up ourselves, and an iron mark on a carpet. With all due respect, this was not our only run-in with the Manager...and while the experience outside of her was pleasant, the moving out and being cheated out of our Security Deposit was a shame for an overpriced building with out-of-date resources in a nice area. The rest of the staff was great, but dealing with the Property Manager as well as being stolen from left a sour taste in our mouths.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“So far, soooooo AMAZING! I love my new home, and the staff is already like family! I have amazing views of Bel Air, Westwood, and Beverly Hills. I never thought I'd be able to have such unobstructed views in LA on Wilshire corridor. Yes, it is an older building, but you wouldn't know if it weren't for the elevators, which are actually quite charming. The place is staffed 24/7 and maintained as such.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I was completely stressed out moving from New York to LA accepting a position in Century City. I literally did not have much time to look at too many apartments. Nevertheless I rented my apartment site unseen(you never know what the apartment is going to look like when you show up). Being a New Yorker I wanted a full service not too pricey Park Avenue style building and I found it! 10401 Wilshire is charming and elegant. Once I arrived any concerns that I might have had coming from the other side of the country where put at rest, the staff has been great! Plus a major bonus, my job is ten minutes away. Once I saw my apartment I was relieved. Not only do I have a great floor plan but the building is so clean and well run. The staff is helpful and courteous plus very caring. I couldn't be happier in my new home and I am looking forward to settling in on the corridor!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I lived at 10401 Wilshire for over a year until I bought a condo down the street. The management was so professional and gracious and so was the entire staff. I wish I could take them all to run my new building! I am in the entertainment business and have lived all over Los Angeles this is a great place to live. Old world charm with a slight modern twist.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“My mother lives at 10401 Wilshire which is close my work and home so I can visit her almost everyday. She feels like everyone is a part of our family. We love the fact that she does not have to park her car and that there is always someone at the front door to greet her. Anytime we have a repair the office handles it right away. If you have parents who an apartment, I highly recommend this building!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I lived at 10401 Wilshire for 3 and a half years before I was transferred out of town.I loved all the staff in the building. The doorman and valet where always so helpful especially when I had a lot of bags to take from my car. My apartment had the most amazing view that I was so sad to leave, I could have stayed here forever. Everyone was extremely professional in the office and my entire family used to love coming to stay here while in Los Angeles. The building has old world charm combined with modern apartments. If I move back to LA, I am moving back into my old apartment!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“Well..I was at 10401 Wilshire Blvd for about 15 months, and my major complaint was the doorman and valet staff. Several of the securiy people were discourteous and unprofessional on the job. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Also, the traffic noise on Wilshire Blvd was disruptive and noisy, and one could not escape the noise unless the apartment(s) was not facing Wilshire Blvd. The traffic noise drove me crazy!”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“If I got a nickel for every time they had to shut the water to repair a bursted pipe or old rusty pipe, I'd be a millionaire. And trust me, I've saved every letter they've sent me in the event I find out the water me and my family has lived in for over 3 years is contaminated. Also the elevators are so slow and sometimes are in repair because they are old. It sucks if you live on one of the top floors and have to park your car in the garage and there's no elevator to the garage! As soon as I moved out, I realize how stupid I had been for ever staying there even after the 4th and 5th time problems occured. Everytime there was a problem (dishwasher not working, the old fashioned A/C box not working, disposal not working, water from shower smelling like sulfur, the valet damaging a guests' car) it became "my problem" not the building's problem. The main reason why we moved there was because the manager who showed us the place told me they never hesitated to fix any problems, because the owner of the building wasn't cheap. And plus they have a maintenance team of 8 people who apparently, are too busy fixing these stupid pipe & water problems. The only good thing about this place is location, but even that cannot justify the issues this building has.”
— 10401 WILSHIRE BLVD · Westwood“I lived at 10401 Wilshire for a year and couldn't wait to move out. There were plumbing problems at LEAST once a month and they will shut off your water for a good 10 hours in order to fix the ongoing problems. When you want something fixed you never know if it's going to happen because they never return your phone calls. Management is okay, but a hassle to deal with. Doorman is good, but if you come home late you may get locked out for sometime until the doorman hears you. Tenants are extremely snobby and rude. Don't live here if your entire wardrobe doesn't consist of 99% Prada. You will be looked down upon.”
