unfortunately, I really wanted to move into one of the studios, but in the end, after I submitted an application and it was immediately accepted, the price was $2282, but in the process I was informed that the price had become $2450, this is some kind of nonsense, I’m disappointed and the most Most importantly, they didn’t even apologize and stopped answering my email.

I’m not even sure where to start with this place. I lived here December 2019-June 2022. Safety: The front door is often broken and left open, meaning anyone can walk in off the street. Bikes have been stolen multiple times from the supposedly locked storage room, and security cameras never work. Cars have been broken into in the garage. The garage gate was broken and left open for literally two years. There was an active shooter in one of the buildings last year, and residents had to find out about it from the Citizen app. We were literally posting on the resident message board trying to figure out why there was a SWAT team in our apartment, and whether we were safe. There was no communication from management about it until the next day! Sanitation: In April 2022, residents on the third floor complained to management of a horrible smell. Management waited a week before checking it out, and it turned out to be a deceased resident. The body itself was taken away that day. However, without going into too much detail, the poor resident had been there for a couple weeks, and there was still some decomposing remains left in the apartment after his body was removed. Management waited WEEKS to get a biohazard team to clean up these remains. I cannot describe the smell. I don’t live on the third floor, but the smell permeated the whole building. I could smell it from my fourth floor, and it was overpowering in the building lobby. I had to hold my breath every time I got home, because who wants to breathe in the gases from human decomposition? Residents repeatedly begged management to clean the apartment, but management was shockingly uncaring. It was like living in the Twilight Zone. Building Maintenance: The pools and hot tubs have been broken on and off for years. One hot tub was broken for a year straight. The fire pits are always breaking. The elevators in 5900 were broken for weeks. There is often flooding in the garage, causing damage to cars. There were mushrooms growing out of the hallways. Honestly, I could go on so much longer. Just don’t live here. If you visit, please at least find a resident who’s lived here for a few months and ask them for an honest opinion. You deserve more than the lies your leasing agent will try to sell you.

Trust none of these reviews. They’re fake and about a maintenance person who doesn’t work here. This community is so poorly run. I lived here since 2019. Things started out OK but then in March 2020 equity residential stopped taking care of the buildings. Everything was broken. Pool heater, hot tub, fire pits. Elevators were out for months! Everything they advertise as an Amenity was out of commission at one point or another. When we complained they said it’s not included in our rent LOL. The place is infested with roaches, fruit flies and ants. It’s so filthy that mushrooms started growing in the hallways from stagnant water. They do nothing about this. In fact, the 100+ residents came together to write a petition for immediate change. Imagine that?! We had an active shooter in one of the buildings and no one warned us even though the office people live in the buildings. There was a swat team on the premises and no one thought it was a good idea to warn the residents to stay on their apartments. They’re a bunch of liars filled with excuses. We have a serious security issue. The buildings can be accessed by anyone. People enter and try shake handles of all the apartment doors to see if they’re open. If not they break through the balconies. See picture of door lock ripped off. So scary! My car was broken into in the so called “secured” garage where the gates never work so again, anyone can get in. When I asked for the security footage they said they wouldn’t give it to me cuz they’re property wasn’t damaged. Slime! Being a single woman this was extremely terrifying. Especially when I would come home late from work. The most recent incident was when management didn’t respond to a foul stench in the 5900 building for weeks. Find out someone passed away and the body was rotting for at least two weeks. It was nauseating to leave your apartment because the smell was so foul and the management team refused to initiate a bio clean so we suffered. It was horrific. They had NO problem putting eviction notices on this door when the poor dead person didn’t pay their rent. You don’t want to rent from scum that do this. Packages? Don’t even think of getting anything delivered. People rip all the boxes open looking to steal whatever they want. although we have cameras - we’ve been told they do not work and they won’t prosecute the thieves taking our stuff. Roaches are legit dropping from the ceilings of the trash rooms. They have done nothing. The residents have a private Facebook page called residents of Altitude. Feel free to join so you can get the real scoop. We have 200 members so you can imagine the rage and unrest we have to organize in order to get things to improve. Which they have not and that’s why I just moved out. Oh and let me not forget their scamming ways. My inspection for moving out was 6/30 and they never showed up, returned my call or email. This was done on purpose so they could scam me out of my deposit which I’ll be taking them to small claims court for. These people took a picture of the doorbell and wrote “dirty.” And I’m charged for that. Shout out to Deborah A. The shady service technician is who probably got some cash for reporting these fake issues. Do not recommend. The management are all scum, the executive team is scum. Word is they’re selling this property that’s why it’s went to hell. Renters BEWARE. Try Modera or the Hancock instead.

Current resident I have been a resident of the Altitude Apartments since February 2022. Suzanne was my leasing agent, and did a great job at selling the property. I had a very smooth move-in, and I am happy with the location of my unit.. Since my arrival, I have had nothing but quality customer service from the leasing office. Anthony Vercher has been outstanding in every possible way. No matter what I have requested big or small, Anthony constantly delivers with outstanding results. In my opinion, he deserves a five star rating (??????????) in every area of service. I hope to see him as a manager one day soon, that is definitely the direction he is headed in. As with every property, this one has hiccups. However, they are handled in a timely manner. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for something in the Culver City or Westchester part of town. You won’t be disappointed. They also have a great maintenance team who has shown up within 24 hours after I have made a request.

Everything breaks. Not worth the price. They are so slow to repairs or fixing community issues. So many different charges for things that don’t even get done in a timely manner. This place definitely had potential but overall I wouldn’t recommend it. They give excuses instead of working to make things right.

Animal ---- and piss inside hallways, elevators, lobby areas, smeared across the front sidewalks. Yes I blame owners but management needs to hold owners accountable. So other residents don't have to pay ridiculous amounts of money to “live with” that. Speaking of which, rent prices get jacked up 10% every year . Not just rent, its rent + parking + code enforcement combined. Parking is around 200$ a month if you're even lucky enough to get a spot. People have been on waitlist for over a year. There is a huge pest infestation problem here. Cockroaches, gnats, flies. I feel bad for level 1 because of how bad the dumpster area is. The smells from the trash shoots on each floor is gross. People are even too lazy to open the trash shoots and will just leave their bags in the room. Probably because the trash shoots have been broken for months and they want you to walk it down to the dumpster room. But when you live 6 floors up and the elevators are broken... carrying bags of trash is difficult for most. Specially with disabilities. Multiple elevators are broken btw. There was a shooting in our building. The man shot at cops before killing himself. They (law enforcement) evacuated the surrounding apartment to keep residents safe. Management sent out an email the next day stating that no one was in real danger...

The word is shister. If i could rate this property lower than a 1 star I would. Beyond the foul smell of the indoor trash, the filthy pool and sauna which 8/10 are out of service, and the lack of sleep you will experience from people drag racing on the 405 at 3am, these people are absolutely horrible and will ruin your credit! I had to move out early due to a death in the family and subsequent hospitalization of another family member. I moved out June 30th drove back to Atlanta and called to pay the rent concession that was the only bill available. They said repeatedly they couldn't give me a final bill till some one else moved into the apartment. They said I had 30 days from the date of the final bill before the account would go to collections. The apartment was taken over July 20th. These bastards immediately began posting negative to my credit beginning July 1st!!! July 1st they stated I was 30 days past due (I MOVED OUT JUNE 30th and my rent for June was paid in full). They then reported me as 30 days late for August as well as of August 1st (apartment wasn't taken over till July 20th, final bill received August 1st). Coincidentally, I was applying for a car loan and up for a position in a bank's finance department. They did a background check on my credit for pre-employment verification then denied me because I had too many recent negative reporting on my credit history. I was shocked cause my credit was a so I thought. This is how I learned these bastards had been reporting to my credit negatively since the DAY I MOVED OUT despite the fact that they didn't even have a final bill for me to pay till July 21st and I wasn't mailed that bill till August 1st. I wrote them explaining the error and the impact their error had on my life (IE it cost me a job and a car). I was still willing to work with them, but they refused to take responsibility for their actions or work out a payment arrangement so that I could send them money until I could get another at least for the time it took for their error to come off my credit so that I could reapply for the job they cost me and be able to pay the balance in full. BEWARE THIS PROPERTY and all Equity Residential Properties!!!
