I lived here for a couple of years. Management was nice and got things fixed pretty quickly. Pretty large units with good closet space. Neighbors are mostly young professionals who were nice and fun to hang out with. The homeless under the bridge was not ideal, the freeway can be loud, and packages get stolen which is pretty standard for the area.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! It’s not worth it no matter how desperate you are! All of the negative reviews about this place all over the internet are true! There is a long history here of managers abusing their power, including ILLEGALLY entering apartments with NO prior notice (24 hours or otherwise) when they think no one is home (which is a violation of tenant rights)! The guy who pretends he is the owner, Shamin, isn’t much better. He will avoid acknowledging management problems or make excuses for them. It’s not unlikely that making reasonable complaints here (which inevitably result from living here) will lead to staff trying to set you up to cover their own mistakes. If the staff doesn’t like you (for any random reason), they will use petty and unprofessional tactics on you. If you rely on the 1 elevator instead of the stairs, they will keep the elevator turned off as long as possible after being cleaned, even after the cleaning people have cleared it for use. If there is an issue with payment, it will be brought up publicly in front of other tenants instead of discreetly in the office. Don't expect that paying your rent on time and treating the staff with respect will save you from the mistreatment here. The people who run this place have no common decency or respect for other people. They will take advantage of you every chance they get – when they’re actually around; there is no residential manager and the office is almost always empty. This place is criminally dangerous! A worker climbed up a tree onto our balcony and ILLEGALLY trespassed after we told him to stop. The manager never even apologized and actually excused his behavior! The worker was never fired and they begged us not to call the police yet within a week, another apartment was broken into and vandalized. Still, no one was fired and no cops were called. The parking garage gate is constantly broken and stuck in a wide open position so any random person can gain access to the building. As a result, the code constantly needs to be changed on the clickers. Additionally, sometimes the lights in the parking garage go out and it’s completely dark – very dangerous! The building is wired horribly. You never know which electrical outlet is going to spark at you when you try to use it. Outlets are set up near sinks instead of wide open counters, making it complicated and dangerous to navigate. There are times when the hot water gets shut off WITHOUT NOTICE. The water pipes are also very rusty, so expect to see orange and brown water coming out. Expect to be cleaning on a constant basis otherwise mold/mildew will start growing within days. Maintenance is slow here so when the washer and/or dryer units break, it can be weeks to months before they are fixed. A washer once sat with the dirtiest, smelliest water sitting in it for almost an entire month! The carpets in the hallways are disgusting and have stains all over them that look disconcertingly old. The carpet in the hallways is probably from the 1970s (it looks like the “original”). Seems like the management here has never heard of “steam cleaning” a carpet… The cleaning people use products that smell incredibly toxic! If you have to use the elevator, you may find yourself trying to hold your breath because the “clean smell” is so overwhelming. The call box sometimes randomly stops working so you’ll never know if you can buzz someone up or not until they get there. At least one time the mail wasn’t delivered because the code to get in wasn’t working and the manager wouldn’t answer her phone (big shocker!). The postal worker just left without delivering the mail that day, thanks to the horrible management here. So expect delays in getting your mail if you live here – that is, if it isn’t stolen after it finally gets into the building. On multiple occasions, checks have been stolen from the office mail box. There are lots of problems here with the mail… If your unit is close to any of the stairs, expect your apartment to shake as people use them. Also expect a shaking and/or loud slam anytime someone comes through the building’s front or side doors. The walls are super thin so expect to hear your neighbors and for them to hear you. You’ll also hear anyone in the hallway too. If you do not live on the top floor, it sounds like elephants live upstairs. There are constantly homeless people out front yelling profanities and insults – especially at night. Expect to hear the police and helicopters during the day (also stopping traffic right in front of the building) and firetruck sirens in the middle of the night because of a fire or domestic dispute from the homeless who reside in the alley and under the freeway just a few doors down. Money is wasted here on cosmetic, superficial changes to manipulate and entice new customers instead of focusing on the structural changes that actually need fixing. Don't let the lobby fool you – it’s the nicest part of the entire building. Any functional changes that are made to this building are most likely the result of a major fire breaking out (like the one in 2009), a lawsuit, or some government enforcement. Whatever amount they’re asking for rent is probably too much considering the quality presented. There are many places that are much cheaper yet with much better upkeep and at least halfway decent management. This place is not a cheap find, it’s a scam. Read the reviews and find a better spot! If you do happen to move here: - Make sure you list anything that isn’t perfect in excruciating detail on the move-in sheet or it will likely be used against you later. They will look for any reason to keep your deposit here. - Make sure you get everything in writing and trust nothing that isn't; Read your lease thoroughly before signing it and take nothing for granted! The people who run this building are incredibly petty and vindictive and will use anything they can against you. They are not beyond writing lies so make sure to keep your own documentation in excruciating detail. Take pictures! Be ready to use your camera whenever dealing with “management” here as they have been known to lie and deny basic tenant rights! You've been warned!

Absolutely a trash, glad I moved out and don't recommend anyone move in because the manager is a big liar. He claimed that everything works great and have no problem, it turns out that everything has a problem, Whenever they say tomorrow, it means next week. whenever they say a week, at least two weeks. They will never respond if your complaints is gonna cost them money. Also, the decoration is a pos, all they know is put white paint on the wall, you can smell the strong Formaldehyde when you get in the room, obviously they don't care about your health, all they care is the money. They are never there when you need help, sometimes it took them a few days to saw the email and respond you, the manager office is always empty. The street is loud, you can hear random sound from the street and it is really scary. Stay away from this apartment trust me, Now I moved into a much better apartment, it is a life lesson that you have to check the review before moving in.

STAY AWAY!!! Terrible management!!! No one is ever in the office if you need them, both managers are incompetent and will never resolve your issues (there have been many by the way!). Management is spending money making cosmetical changes to the apartment complex to make it look nice, yet the apartments need fixing and the washer/ dryer are always having some kind of problem, plus they always take your change and don't expect the manager to give your money back for it either (it sounds small but adds up over time). Multiple tenants have issues with the washer/dryer so everyone will go to different floors to get their laundry done. Noise level seems to get worse as time passes. Barrington, Pico, Bundy, and Olympic are the main streets so expect lots of traffic and honking in the mornings. If you download the app Nextdoor, you will also notice that crime has begun to rise in the area as well. Parking is horrible if you don't have a parking spot in the garage. Street sweeper makes parking even worse twice a week if you don't park on the right side on the right day. Other tenants can be very loud throughout the day some days, but nights are the worst when you have drunken neighbors waking everyone at 1-2am whether it be during the week or weekends. A/C units are also really really bad and don't do a good job of cooling down the apartments during summer time so expect to be sweaty, hot and half your food going bad in the pantry. I regret ever moving here and wished I had done more looking around at other apartments.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. This apartment has horrible managemet. Manager names Shermean is extremely unprofessional. He doesn't pick up phone calls and it has been about 2 months since I have moved out but I am stilll not receiving deposit back. I had incident that one day, I saw maintenance guy Pedro in the elevator, I was going to work at that time, right after that he went into my room without any notice. Luckly my friend was there (pedro didn't know) and she called me that pedro just came in. I was freaked out and informed management but Sermean just said " pedro won't go into your unit anymore" and that's how he ended this case. I will not recommend this apartment to anyone. Warning! If you move to this apartment, you need to be ready to get in trouble.

This place is DISGUSTING! The most terrible office manager in the world. His name is Shamean. He is completely incompetent, He is a coward, and never answers his phone. He will not return your calls. He doesn't care about problems in the apartment, will keep your security deposit, and is a despicable human being. Laundry machine in hallways NEVER work, and he charges you $1.75 per use! RUN!!! There is MOLD in the apartments! Black mold!! We moved out because of the mold (and everything else, and he TOOK our security deposit!!!!!) He has no macitence team, just one person who probably isn't even qualified to handle any of the problems! Terrible living conditions, nothing works! Everywhere is dirty! I cannot stress enough how terrible this apartment complex is, and how terrible the manager Shamean is. It is a SICK place with a SICK person running it. RUNNNNN! This place should be shut down!!!

We lived here for over 2 years and had to move because of a kitchen fire in a nearby unit. A neighbor burned her kitchen while cooking dinner? This place is usually very quite and the manger and maintenance are friendly and helpful and repairs are done quickly. Our unit was fairly big with lots of closets which we really miss in our new place. We decided to move since our unit smelled a little like smoke after the fire. After discussing our situation with the manager they offered to refund our full deposit and the last months rent. Over all we were very satisfied living here.

Do not rent here. There are so many problems with this place from the structure itself to the manager. A couple weeks ago a FIRE started on the third floor and no one heard a fire alarm go off!(isn't that illegal?) people were banging on doors and yelling to get out. One guy was actually stuck in his apartment because the fire was outside his door already! eventually the fire was put out but there is a lot of fire and water damage on the third and second floor. I feel really bad for all the people who have cats in the building, they were really freaking out trying to save kitty from a burning building! That fire was just the result of a culmination of poor maintenance (IMO). I have seen vertical and horizontal cracks in the walls poorly plastered over with a rough coat of paint slapped on top, funky electrical outlets, a hallway carpet from the 70's that they will probably never remove no matter how disgusting it gets ( yes, even after the fire, its STILL there!) plumbing issues, water leakage when it rains, parking garage doors that are usually stuck, single pane windows and doors that block neither heat/cold or sound, termites and termite damage, ugh...where does it end? mold? maybe.. who knows what is lurking behind the walls and under the carpet? All the bad reviews are totally true, that five star review is no doubt the manager's assistant/girlfriend. I don't think the manager actually cares enough to do anything, even post a good review!

I lived here 3 1/2 years and had my bike stolen and my car broken in to inside the "secure" garage. I begged for the manager to place up some security measures or to just fix the broken lock at the back door. He refused to do anything. He was very slow to get any problems fixed or at all. The place is falling apart inside and out and is a depressing place to live. Stay away!
