We've been here for 3 years and the living conditions have continually gotten worse, from the homeless people wandering the hallways (one had a knife!), to the constantly broken elevator and weekly fire alarms in the middle of the night. We have a 1 yr-old and do not feel safe here anymore. Also, the fellow neighbors let their dogs poop all over the hallway floors and amazon packages are often stolen from the mailroom. The management team does the bare minimum to resolve any issues -- we can't wait to move when our lease is up. Just check out the photos of the recent complaints on the community message board.

Don't be fooled! You will be extremely disappointed by the staff. They will be nice to you upfront since they want you to stay with them (especially with the new development going on), but once you decide to leave, don't expect any transparency or service from them... and they will take all your money (don't expect to see anything from security deposit).

The units were not as nice as the surrounding buildings I visited. The staff was nice, but the units look nice on the surface but they are charging really high prices compared to similar units in the area.

I lived here from May 2016 to May 2017. It's one of the worst buildings I've lived in. The walls are super thin, especially the ceiling. They have hard water, so there are water stains around every faucet. They allow dogs, so the hallways are covered in dog piss and ---- stains. The staff is pleasant but not helpful. Someone stole my dry cleaning once. On another occasion, someone broke into my car in the garage. When i moved out, i paid for a professional cleaning company to clean my apartment, but they didn't clean the dust behind the refrigerator and they couldn't get the hard water stains out from the faucets. So they hired their own cleaners and took the majority of my deposit. And they raised my rent $200 at the end of my lease!

We leased a 2 br/2ba apt for 2 years. The apartment had a washer and dryer in the unit, a roomy patio area, and tandem parking for 2 cars. During the time we lived there, the building was pretty quiet and we had no issues with our neighbors. Any maintenance requests submitted online were responded to within 24 hours. There is limited guest parking on evenings and weekends, but there is a $4 flat fee parking lot one block over. The gym also had ample machines and was never really crowded, though the tv's attached to the treadmills and elliptical machines did not always work properly. Lots of restaurants and shops within a 2 block walking distance. Overall, I would recommend the Artisan on 2nd.

This place was EXCELLENT when we moved in 3 years, but now, it's HORRIBLE/a NIGHTMARE. After management changed, the place has went downhill fast. We used to have a working bbq grill, which does not work anymore and has not even attempted to be fixed. the pool area door is constantly sticking so you will have to fidget with it for a while to get into the area. the treadmill tv's are constantly broken. The garage door was broken for over a week, and when management was asked when it would be fixed, they just said it was broken (restated the problem). i even saw a bum sleeping in the gym because of it, and management had NOTHING to say about it & didn't even say they would make an effort to do anything. it completely made me feel unsafe. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. the building is constantly open to whomever wants to come in. since management changed, they make no effort to get to know the tenants (even our names), they are rarely in the office, the office hours are terrible (and they took away the rental drop box for rent if you come after they close which is 5 or 6pm). there is no longer on-site security. parking is terrible for guests. They used to have around 7 spots for guests, now it's only 4. BUT, current tenants park there even though they're not supposed to so there's really no parking for guests. Street parking is terrible b/c little tokyo is getting popular and there are 2 other condo's right next door that are competing for street paring also. The smoke alarms go off every so often b/c of inconsiderate people who smoke in stairways and what not. the complex used to have tenant appreciation events, such as grab and go breakfast foods, which no longer exists. they increased our rent $300 from last year and increased it another $200 (12 month)-$600 (13 month lease) for this year. NOT WORTH IT. pro's: the maintanence people are awesome! Fermin and Hugo do an excellent job and they really try to get to know the tenants! x) the walls are a decent thickness between apartments. it's newer (~4-5 years old). washer/dryer in unit. decent gym.

I have been here for over a year and I have to say that I cannot wait until my lease is up. The Office have went up on my rent significantly and I hate going into the office. I try to walk my dog around the building and there is always other people's dog waste around the property. The two maintenance guys are nice and respectful but they look a little overworked. I hear there were a couple of break-ins and a peeping tom that lived on site looking to many of the residents windows on the first floor at night. I really did not like that the management company let the guy stay on the property and did not want to send a notice out to the residents about this person or persons doing this. I just have to say it's been non-stop issues with the current manager Lisa. My lease is up soon and I cannot wait to move.

I've been here at Artisan on 2nd for a little over 6 months now and I love it here! The location is great! Most places I go to are within walking distance or a short cab ride away and my experience with the staff has been outstanding! Chris has been wonderfully accommodating! Her diligence and professionalism is a breath of fresh air compared to all of the property management people I've had to deal with in the past having been a renter, as well as having been a property owner. There has been a change in the management company and I'm ecstatic she's managed to remain as part of the new management group! I haven't had the pleasure of meeting the new property manager but she seems pretty cool. The maintenance staff has been amazing! Repairs are always performed in completion in a timely manner and the maintenance people, Fermine and Hugo, have very kind dispositions that make every experience with them pleasant. Aritsan on 2nd is a smaller property than I'm used to living in and with every tenant being so cordial there's an air of benevolence and community I'm not accustomed to. It's extraordinary! Overall, a great experience!

I've been here for a little over a year and a half and now it's time for me to renew again. I have reached a point where I've seen this place change so drastically. When I moved in the managers were so friendly and helpful. The office was so warm and inviting and since this Lisa girl has been to the property it's just been cold and uapproachable. I like my apartment it's pretty large and I have to admit had great features but if I have to deal with prices going up so much and bitter managers it makes my living experience unpleasant. The owners just put the building on the market to sell and now I have no idea what is going to happen. The previous manager's Thida and Pierce were so amazing and even helped me relocate from New York and took me step by step but since the new manager Lisa and the other girl in the office has been there..I never even want to go in to pay my rent. If I didn't work two blocks away I totally would have left a while back. There was a peeing tom on the property and a couple of cars that were broken into and the managers let the peeping tom stay on the property...Crazy....I do not feel safe at times... let's just say I am not renewing..There are many other places that have more amenities for the buck and better customer service. Sorry to say...I would not want to live here again in it's current situation.

I am a current tenant in Artisan on 2nd and facing a lease renewal. They've dragged along our new lease amount until the last minute and raised 25%. They went through 3 different managers past 2 years and they want to raise at least $500-700 more a month. Their excuse is saying "We know what we have in our building and we know how much we are worth. We like to make sure we get paid for what we have" and keep on repeating how much other neighborhood CONDOs are renting for. Guess what? I did a research on our neighborhood condo's rental price. They are renting even cheaper than what I am paying now before the raise for similar condition. So what the hell are they talking about being competitive with the rate of our neighborhood condos? Plain simple, LIE & GREED. This apartment is decent but NOT THAT SPECIAL to pay close to $3000/month. There are so many other units through out the downtown with better amenities and better price. Don't bother.
