I MOVED 2 months ago. Yesterday they stole my E-bike from the front door of my apartment inside the Alessio complex. Don;t move. I read the reviews and thought how bad can it be? Is very bad. I regret it. now they wanna keep the deposit cause I feel unsafe and want to break the lease,. NOT A SAFE PLACE. Same ALESSIO employees discloising that some who live in the complex are the ones are stealing. Dog ---- smell is overwhelming. TO cover the smell they throw gallons of cinamon disinfectant. which makes it even worse. And is HOT the both smells come so strong my head hurts. I have to all employees I encounter where very nice and trying to help. THOUGH is $$$$ for the UNSAFE sketchy place. Alarm goes off frequently at 3am, 4am, and 5am, 3 times per night when it happens. Place is filthy, you can spot humidity oil the ceiling, funky smell. Though they have only 3 guys to clean the whole condo. Poor guys they do what they can. Not blaming them. The Bath tub is clogged since I arrived. unit is unskilled painted with the color paint they use in jail or government public building.

My sister and I moved to Alessio last year. And since then, the leasing office has closed. It has been very difficult to speak with anyone in person. The residents relations department works off-site now. And the ONLY person that answers our emails and returns our calls is Ozzie. He helped us find an extra parking space and helped us with our lease renewal. So thank you, Ozzie, for being helpful and amazing!

All positive reviews have been fabricated by management and are not authentic. I was a tenant of this property for several years. Of all the substandard conditions evident at this mass complex, which accepts California low income funding, theft is the most prevalent. This property is ravaged with thieves, both tenants and the homeless living on Centinela Ave just steps from the property. As you drive down Centinela Ave from La Cienega, take note of the many tents, trailers, and semi-abandoned vehicles parked on the south side of the road. These are the people who routinely enter the buildings and steal mail, items left in the main entries by internet services (including Amazon), etc. These people enter the premises at all hours and unobstructed by security. They will often clear out and exit the building with every package found on the floors in front of mailboxes. Theft is so prevalent that an LAPD detective group is assigned to the property. Violence is also an issue. As a resident, I was personally witness to several incidents whereby the entire property was put on "Lock-down" as police searched for perpetrators of violent crime on the property. This included an assault at the pool (in which officers arrived with weapons drawn to subdue the suspect in the rental lobby) and another incident which included LAPD helicopters. Call LAPD Pacific division to verify the above statements. They will tell you. If you value your safety (and that of your family / friends), as well as your belongings, DO NOT RENT HERE!

I think the management must have changed because I have had an amazing experience unlike the reviews a couple of years ago. I'm writing this review because I've looked at over 50 different communities and apartments and I fell in love with Alessio when I first walked in. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. I was very impressed. I feel like I live in a tropical resort. I've been living here for a few weeks now and I have to say I'm EXTREMELY happy. Everyone that works here is on it! They really try to make sure your experience is top notch. I had a few things that needed attending to in the apartment when I first moved in and the maintenance team was on it immediately. I was VERY impressed. They really go above and beyond for you and I'm so appreciative of that since it is my first apartment experience in over 25 years. All of my friends know I love it here and I'm so grateful for the time and care they put in to making this place beautiful and keeping it up. They really care about their residents. They even have security 24/7 walking around and a guard gate. Love this place!

Help from staff is nonexistent. Me and my housemate had gone to the office SO MANY times for similar problems but would get no proper response whatsoever. Recently we've been seeing our packages getting stolen and the office said they've "noticed the situation" but they are not doing anything to solve it!!

The Alessio is not what is appears in these pictures or the other reviews. Depending on your expectations, the rental experience can be a disaster, so take caution. You will be shown a rather well kept pool area and modern lobby, the unit you'll be renting is not likely the one you'll be living in. Maintenance - - The insides of the buildings are disgusting. The garages are filled with people's trash / concrete needs power washed - oil and dirt everywhere, the elevators are often broken / ceilings missing / rails removed / dog urine on the floors, the garbage rooms / shoots are putrid with loaded baby diapers often on the floor / garbage backing up in the shoots / constant stench, the hallway carpets are filthy, and garbage cans around the facilily often overflow. I'm not blaming the maintenence staff - they appear courteous and work hard. The issue is whoaful under-staffing, residents that live like they are 3rd world, and a general need to deep clean / renovate the common areas / hallways of every building. Feces has been in the pool several times, more than likely from a child (or adult) that doesn't even have residency here. The pool may as well be public. Management - The staff in the offices work hard, but are constantly forced to push water up hill. The GM role has turned over many times. Essex Corp, at its most senior levels, needs to step in and recognize that the price per unit in this building is enough to infuriate any fiscally wise tenant once they move in. The building provides an assisted living program, so know that if you are paying rate card at $2,000+ / month, your neighbor may be paying approx $1200 and living as if he/she is in section 8. This building is NOT for professionals. Crime - I've had my clothes and a comforter stolen from the common area washing facility. If you smoke weed, you'll fit right in - the hallways wreak consistently, the pool area is a smokefest, and there are roaches on the sidewalks all over. You will frequently notice shady looking characters walking through the car security gates when you open them to drive your car through. Tenants - Many of these people live like they're animals. They throw trash everywhere, have no regard for policy, and often act like the world owes them something - despite many paying far less than the rate card you'll be quoted. Residents have threatened to key people's cars, have them towed from their own parking spot, and have little regard for mindful living.

I am a current Resident and the leasing office never answers the phone or calls you back. They ask you leave a message or give them your name and number and the manager NEVER calls. Same with work orders, if you don't call multiple times then it will take 1 week or more for your order to he filled. They get charges in correct on the bill for rent and then betwren the days of the 1st and the 5th the leasing office just never answers the phone. Its the most frustrating thing.

The pool area is the only good thing about this place, 1 year there and the intercom didnt work at all, rude staff, we made all the possible to leave the apartment in good shape, they still took our 500$ deposit and charged 531$ extra, crazy "vendor" prices.. deep cleaning (120$) and the "deep cleaning" was for clean the oven, my car was open while in the parking and someone removed my radio, my BF car was open while in the parking inside the place and someone took his professional bike, anyway, nothing god to say about this place.

I just want to say that Anie is an exceptional professional whom I would recommend any day. Anie Delos Reyes had the challenge of leasing to me at a time when if anything could wrong daily and continue relentlessly to wreck my life. So courteous and professional was she to me during my ordeal, she actually made it better and was able to maintain focus. She worked with me through several emails, while never having her calls to me taken (I got better). And after helping me get through me lease, she waited for me when I finally got here and cheerfully showed me around. I met her last year and she has only improved. Hooray Anie! Thank you!
