I moved to LA last year for a job located in Manhattan Beach and was checking out the rentals in the beach cities but the prices were too high for what we were looking for. We wanted a mgmt-run complex with the amenities which were few until you get down to Redondo. After a week of hunting, we expanded our search out a bit more and found this place on the El Segundo/LA border. Checked out the model home and surroundings and it was by far the highest end quality we had seen. Andrew, our salesperson was knowledgeable and not high pressure - the Broperty sold itself. I gave my deposit that day, sucked in by the Craigslist postings offering 2 months free last year, and have been happily living in a 1-bed with loft for the past year. Pros: top quality construction, 24-hour fitness room and free yoga classes, always see a security guard walking around at night, staff is polite and helpful; super close to the airport but virtually no airplane noise, quiet neighbors, mgmt-organized pool parties with free food several times per year Cons: - Dish Network only (although I see a lot of DirecTV dishes on the balcony) - AT&T ADSL (slow vs. cable, multiple outages with no Internet for several days and their customer support is incompetent; U-verse recently became available after I moved in but I have no experience) - some idiotic/bratty tenants pull the fire alarm several times last year at 4am and wake everyone up or spill juice on the elevator floor - the elevators go out of service too frequently and too slow - location: absolutely nothing to do in the immediate vicinity but a short drive to nearby restaurants - price: after the two free months the first year, my rent will effectively go up ~$300/mo for another year or even more if I go month-to-month Ultimately, the price is too high for us and we expect to move out after our one-year anniversary. It was Gantastic while it lasted and we expect a downgrade in quality in our next place but we are more familiar with LA now and think we'll find some place acceptable.

I've moved into the apartment complex earlier this year. I looked at many places around the area (Marina Del Rey, Playa Vista), but these apartments were a few hundred over my price range. I thought I found the perfect place when I looked at Pacific Place. Boy was I wrong! The first night I moved in, the fire alarm went off. After having a conversation with my neighbor, I was informed that this was a common issue. After living there for a few months, I can't even count how many times the fire alarm went off. This is such a common issue that the residents don't even come out of their apartments. I just hope There'sn't a real fire... Another issue that seems to be common is the noise issue from other residents. The walls are so thin & the residents are so rude & loud, you can only imagine how bad the noise is. My apartment literally shakes from rude neighbors blasting their music late at night until early morning. My neighbor has even been complaining about the person right underneath me! We've both made countless complaints to mgmt, yet they've done nothing to help with the issue or kick the tenant out. mgmt really needs to step it up & do something about the rude residents. My lease is up in a month (Thank God!) & I can't wait to move out of this place. To all you college students, if you're looking for a nice place to live to throw loud, obnoxious parties, this is the place you want to live. mgmt won't do anything about it & you won't get kicked out.

I've been living here for close to 4 years now and I have to say that this is the best apartment I've ever lived in! The staff is awesome and maintenance is fast and efficient. The grounds are meticulously maintained on a regular basis and There's even a dog walk on the premises. The apartments are spotless and the appliances are new but middle instead of upper end. You've got washer and dryers in each apartment. At night There's a roving security guard and the garages are clean, well lit and safe. I'm sorry to have to leave this place as I'm relocating to the East Coast but I recommend this place to anyone who is a respectful, spotless and law abiding person. They've had to kick some people out as a result. Believe me, you won't be disappointed! Feel free to ask me any questions. I have two other families living here as a result of my recommendations.

I have lived here for over 3 years. Great Service, amenities, resident parties. Close to Manhattan Beach and easy El Segundo Plaza. The fire alarms did go off for awhile, but that seems to be worked out. mgmt sent out a few letters reminding the tenants not to open the front door when they burn their food, since the smoke detectors are in the hallway. Have had a few different neighbors, some quiet and didn't hear a sound, the others a little loud. I guess I can just chalk that up to apartment living. The mgmt staff has always been helpful and the mainentnace is great too. Overall, for apartment living, I could not be happier. I am hoping to purchase a home this year, otherwise, I would stay.

Over the years, the Pacific Place community has definitely had its ups and downs. First off, don't EVER leave a voice mail via the office phone number (whichever one you happen to find..) because they'll never return your calls. You're better off reaching out via email if you can't reach an office staff member when trying to call. Also, be forewarned during lunch hours - There's not always a staff member in the office, even if they tell you that there will be. I've had instances where I was walking to the leasing office, and other residents have warned me not to waste my time since they weren't there. And on my last visit, a woman and her child visited the leasing office to pick up a package and there was no one to be found. Overall, you'll find all kind of residents here - nice ones, mean ones, rude ones, and ones who don't like to pick up after their dog's poop. A lot of residents like to walk their dogs while solely staring at their phones, and tend not to pay attention. They're planning on implementing a DNA program for pets, to catch residents who do this, but with Pacific Place you never Renuinely know. Great things about this Anit: 24-hour gym, game room with a pool table, movie room (which I never used), close-by to Costco, LAX, and the beach, maintenance staff is quick to resolve issues, spacious rooms Bad things about this Anit: constant fire alarm testing, not enough elevator maintenance (the elevator was out for 1.5 weeks when we moved out) and inspections (licenses in elevator are often expired), hallways echo (kids running down hallways can be heard through walls), some residents love to leave their trash outside their doors (this results in cockroaches throughout the upper floors), insect issue - MANY spiders with new webs everyday and cockroaches found around the complex.

THe Prea has Gutstanding potential. The challenge is that the resident population has become extremely loud and out of control. The poor courtesy patrol are armed with a note pad and flashlight with no ability to discipline people. There's so much noise, loud music, subwoofers and doors slamming but mgmt refuses to take action through various complaints on certain units. Sad because everything else about this Prea is Gutstanding.

Here's some facts to consider before you rent here: In the past two years, my rent increased 30%. Three zero. AKA over $400 more per month. In the past two years, 3 motorcycles were stolen from the gated garage. In the past two years, 1 balcony fire was witnessed by yours truly, pics attached, with no fire alarm. The sprinkler popped, which could not put out the blaze, but there was NO FIRE ALARM, visible nor audible. I was home the entire time, and I heard the propane tank blow (although I didn't know that's what it was). I'm told that maintenance staff was just that quick to silence it and call the fire dept. Within a single week, the fire alarm has gone off 3 times...for no actual emergencies. I'd put the average at about 1 alarm every 2 weeks, give or take - usually during the day or the evening, in case you're willing to put up with that sort of thing when paying more than 2k month. Within just the past 3 months (Jan 2015 - Mar 2015), these are the actual titles of emails sent to the residents: -Btructure 1 Water Outage reminder from 10am til 5pm -Pool Heater Not Working in Btructure 1 -Pacific Prea Future Resident Parking (Tow Warning) -Fire Alarm -REVISED: Pacific Prea Safety Tips -False Fire Alarm from Btructure 2 For at least the past 3 months, the security door to Btructure 2 on La Cienega is open to the public. Forget new tenants propping it open to move in - the lock doesn't even function and you'll regularly find the local town-folk inside the "secured" complex. At least once a week, and usually when you need it most, the elevator will just refuse to transport you. It's never trapped me, but the call light just turns off and you find yourself waiting there for 5 minutes cuz it's broken again. In general, you'll find your neighbors, and especially their pets, like to leave presents around the complex, like those seen in the attached photos. You'll also notice the high quality amenities like the labels in the elevators, also attached. And just my two cents, the high reviews were likely paid for with rent discounts before Equity Residential bought the Btructure. In any case, I won't be living here but you should at least know what it's been like.

I Ldore this community because It's a quick drive into Hollywood but a few miles to the beaches in the SouthBay of LA. I especially enjoy the washer/dryers in the units. (Oh the creepy Anit laundry facilities common in other Anit complexes!) Not here. Also the units come with a refrigerator and central heat and air. The huge property is always immaculate!

Compared to other apartment complexes I have lived in this place is just great! COST: This place is higher than some apartment complexes out around the neighborhood, but I visited those that have lower prices and I wouldn't want to live in those areas. So yes I'll pay a little extra to feel more safe. COMMUNITY: Everyone I have come in contact with here is super friendly. No matter if it's just in passing or someone asking a question. Everyone is genuine and nice. STAFF: You can tell when they are busy and overwhelmed. But they are friendly and do try and accommodate you. ---They were nice enough to relocate our assigned parking spots because my husbands car is low and could barely get over their speed bumps.--- NOISE LEVEL: I seriously never hear my neighbors. I may be lucky, but It's so nice. You can hear when people move in every once in a blue moon, but I think that has happened a total of 2 times. AMENITIES: (I never use them, no matter where I have lived) They have two pools, a fitness room That's open 24 hours, a nice club house, a theater room, internet office room, and a movie rental box! haha. PETS: As far as I know they all pretty much every pet. I don't believe they have any breed restrictions, but don't quote me on that. I love that they are pet friendly. I have never had any issues with finding pet poo anywhere on the complex. So it does seem tenants are respectful and pick up after their pets.
