Stay FAR Away – Dishonest Management and Bogus Charges! If I could give Museum Tower ZERO stars, I would! This apartment complex is a complete scam, and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone. My experience with them has been nothing but a nightmare, and their shady business practices have seriously hurt my credit and my family's future. After moving out, I was blindsided by a massive drop in my credit score, only to find out that Museum Tower had placed bogus charges on my account without notifying me. They claimed they sent a letter to an address I had only stayed at for a few days, knowing full well I wouldn’t receive it. Instead of making a proper effort to contact me, they let these false charges rack up and then sent them to collections, damaging my credit and making it harder for my family to buy a home. What’s worse? The charges were completely fraudulent! They tried to bill me for: * Carpet replacement ($349.98) – The carpet was in the SAME condition as when we moved in, and I have photos and videos to prove it. Even their own inspection pictures showed no stains! * Veneer plank damage – Another fabricated charge. I took detailed pictures before leaving, and there was NO damage whatsoever. * Cooktop damage – Total nonsense. The cooktop was in normal condition with only regular wear and tear. But they decided to slap an extra charge on anyway. The most infuriating part? I was on AUTO-PAY! They took money out of my account every month without issue, yet somehow I "owed thousands of dollars" after moving out? It makes no sense and feels like a calculated scam. When I finally got in touch with management, they were dismissive and unhelpful. They refused to acknowledge their mistakes, and instead of working with me, they just let my credit suffer. This is NOT how you treat tenants who always paid on time and followed the rules. If you’re considering moving here, RUN in the opposite direction. They will take your money, hit you with fake charges, and ruin your credit. This is by far the worst apartment experience I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and find a place with honest management that actually values its residents!. I was inn contact with Kelli Stanton. I requested images of pictures they took to make these judgments as i was so confused, and it was clean and just like it was as I moved in. Till today am still not sure what I am being charged for?

Fire alarm goes off in the middle of the fire dept cannot shut it off........finally after an hour of hell, the maintenance guy shut it off... Horrible place to terribly unsafe.. Save your money and live elsewhere. Oh and ya they have many water shut offs as they are under renovation which spans multiple days in a week.. And they have a labor dispute going on...

Lived here for about 14 months, moved out recently and was sad to go. I'm not sure where all the other reviewers are coming from. Yes the rent is expensive, there could be some things updated in the kitchen units, and sometimes management is slow to reply to messages. However the pros outweigh the cons enormously. The building was built very well, you can't hear ANYTHING coming from other apartments, it is completely silent all the time. The units are spacious and nice, great temperature control, they all have a balcony. The location is perfect in downtown LA and you can walk just about anywhere. There is underground parking which is a huge bonus anywhere in downtown LA. The security staff keep the building extremely safe, making delivery people sign in, doing regular walk arounds the building. And the maintenance staff can pretty much fix anything within 24 hours! I loved this building, and if I ever find myself back in LA I'll be looking to return to Museum Tower.

I had a terrific experience during the two years I lived at Museum Tower. If you understand what sort of lifestyle this building is and don't have unreasonably high expectations, this place is absolutely the best value and actually the nicest place to live in downtown L.A. I do not understand the poor reviews on this site at all. First, the location is perfect. You are right on California Plaza so there is easy access to restaurants, concerts, and amenities. Plus it is the safest part of the downtown because there are concert-goers out on the street all the time near the Disney Concert Hall and Museum Tower is literally right next to the Omni Hotel, so there is hotel staff and security around. Bunker Hill is the best spot in the downtown. It is a short walk to most all of the downtown law firms and accounting offices. My favorite part about Museum Tower was how solid the building construction is. I literally never heard a neighbor either next to or above me. The units are built so solidly that they are literally perfectly silent. You do get some street noise through the balcony windows but it isn't too bad. Museum Tower is also an amazing value when you compare it to the other high priced downtown apartments like the Medici and the MET. I paid significantly less to live at Museum Tower, had a high floor unit with balconies and views of the Hollywood sign and Disney Concert Hall. Also, the tenant mix is mostly professionals. Other places have a lot of USC and fashion school students. There are some students at MT, but very few (so if you are a student and need a quiet apartment to study, this is the place, but don't expect rooftop pool parties like at the Pegasus). Cons: 1. There are not assigned parking spaces, so if you come home late, you have to drive to the bottom of the parking structure to find a spot. But only once was I ever not able to find a spot. They are fairly good about keeping non-resident cars out of the garage. 2. Also, the units have popcorn ceilings and the kitchens are cheap and basic. My oven was broken, but I don't cook so I never bothered to call for a replacement since the stove was fine. 3. The elevators occasionally do go out but there are 3 of them so this usually isn't a problem. The laundry room and fitness center are not great but are usable. The leasing office and the front desk staff are great, but I never used maintenance, so I can't speak to that. 4. Another con is that car companies film nearly every car commercial ever made within a two block area around Museum Tower so Grand Ave and other streets are frequently shut down on the weekends. I have also been startled by a bus exploding in the street (filming of 24) and a helicopter chase scene being filmed at night. Usually they are good about warning you when a movie is being filmed by posting notices in the elevators, but I have been startled a number of times. 5. The area around Museum Tower largely shuts down during the weekends because most people are not at their downtown offices. Less people about but still safe and there are usually still people out and about in the evenings near the Disney Hall. Overall, for the value Museum Tower is an A . Quiet, professional, great location, adequate units. It is not the place if you are looking for high end finishes or resort style amenities. But for the person who doesn't care about hot tubs or pools or granite countertops this is the perfect place in downtown L.A.

Pros: The place is in a good location near California Plaza and if you work at one of the buildings near by it's a great walking commute. The maintenance crew and the security have been mostly prompt and adequate. Cons: The building however has had multiple issues with the elevators in the last year. The inconvenience can add an additional 5-10 minutes to getting to your car or to get out via the 1st or 3rd floor. At minimum it has taken them a month or more to fix issues with their elevators. Currently, their garage elevator is not working. Also, the exercise room at this apartment complex is not very good. The equipment is dated and broken. Also, the kitchens in all the units are also old and need updating especially those old noisy refrigerators. For the high rents that they charge everything should be updated and fixed on a more regular basis. The lounge area as stated in other reviews is something from decades gone by. Also, there is a lot of events going on at the California Plaza, MOCA, Grand Avenue, various events and filming. Sometimes the noise can be so loud from various events that you will have to sleep somewhere else. Conclusion: With all the different varying options in downtown now, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Building is old and falling apart. Management only cares about the rent check. Parking is inadequate. Too many usc students. Heavy rotation of people moving in and out. Security and maintenance are friendly and effective. Plenty of other places downtown with better value for money.

The apartments are in reasonably good shape--their clean. The appliances are old, the kitchen counters have been painted to cover burns, and tub/showers have been patched. The problem is parking. As a policy, management will not tow vehicles. So everyone parks here--resident or not--and it is impossible to find parking after 11PM; even the fire lanes get crowded (which is a violation of LA city law).

Maintenance team is very responsive. Called them in the morning and things are already fixed when I got home in the evening. Security guards are friendly and helpful. I had my sink overflow once during the night ( 11 pm ) and the security guard placed an emergency call for me. Maintenance guy came over in 30 minutes to take care of it. Next day, they sent more people over to fix the problems and clean up. Parking system is reasonable. Although there's no assigned parking, there're always enough parking space for all the tenants. After reading other apartments's horrible parking situations, I thank God that we're not doing 'stacked parking' here. The building is pretty clean. I see the cleaning ladies work every morning. The sound proof of the wall is pretty good. I can't really hear anything from my neighbors who live next door. The only thing I don't like is they charge me $50 pet rent each month. Other than that, I'm quite happy living here.

I was barely "living" in the place since I was a USC student at the time of my stay. The building changed management several times while I was living there. Each time management changed, the place got worse and the people running it would ignore their tenants and mostly avoided them. I don't know who constructed this place but there is only one parking space per unit and if you have a guest over on weekends, you are basically out of luck and have to ask them to find a place to park downtown. Overall, the location is not bad if you work nearby and the area is the safest in downtown but for the price, I'm sure you can find a better place to stay on another side of town.

This apartment is constantly being flooded. Every month or so we would have our water shut off for the entire apartment so that they can fix the plumbing. A month ago they had to bring in two industrial strength fans into the lobby to dry the carpet. It turns out there was severe plumbing problems on the 7th floor, so every floor below the 7th (including the lobby) got drenched with smelly sewage water.<br><br>Don't even get me started on the parking. We all pay $50 a month parking fee, but no parking is assigned. When tenants have their friends over, they often take up precious spots, so if I get home later than 2:00 am at night, I run the chance of NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND PARKING in my own building.<br><br>NOthing pisses me off more than having to find parking on the street (and waking up at 6:00 am to move my car) even though I paid freaking $50 a month for parking.<br><br>The management and security guards are nice enough people. They are friendly and generally try to help you whenever they can. <br><br>However, the parking and plumbing problems are never fixed. They do not tow away visitors who park here illegally and they do not try to fix the plumbing for the entire building. <br><br>THis building is a disgrace and I'm so glad I'm moving soon.<br><br>Some good points:<br>-Lots of great neighbors: generally corporate types and rich USC students. Very good crowd.<br><br>-Great sound-proofed rooms.<br><br>-Great location: Within walking distance of the MOCA, the Biltmore, Nick and Stef's, McCormic's, etc. Great for people who work at the big firms like OMM.
