Dear Friends, I would actively discourage anybody and everybody from renting here, and have been discouraging friends and colleagues of mine who have been housing-searching ever since I have lived here. The manager is extremely tempermental, horribly insenstive to personal issues. I have seen him (Gaby [Gabriel] Neagu) blow his top at non-English speakers, at girls, at fellow renters asking for help, renovation workers who do jobs on the property, and even more. A friend of mine lost her key, and, fearful to speak to him alone, asked me to come with to knock on his door -- he shouted her down, refused to help, and told her to go away, because he was "watching television." So we had to jump the fence, try to open ourselves from the back, and when this did not work, we had to call a private locksmith. He allows marijuana, drinking, smoking and partying, but goes ballistic when your blender is too loud or your vaccuum is too noisy or your footsteps down the front stairs distract him from sitting on the computer. Neagu is vindictive, deceitful, aggressive, lazy and cruel. MZL Properties needs to reprimand this man and/or replace him.

Okay, there are some good things about this apartment and some bad things. First the bad: elevators are quite ------, one breaks down too often and they are both a little ------, but I didn't really mind to be honest. I haven't come across any cockroaches or pests, unlike the person above, but I did have a similar problem with unpotable water coming from the faucet once in a while, but I just let it run like half a minute and it was fine. The price is a little excessive since the manager knows he can get away with it, considering that it really is probably the best location of any real apartment complex near UCLA. Never used the pool, laundry is alright, sometimes it comes out of the dryer a little damp, but where does it not? The other two people who posted reviews here just ----- too much about every little problem. I can understand not liking the manager, but he has always been cool to me. Water/trash/sewage included is pretty cool. And the noise factor is pretty good, quiet over 90% of the time, sure some times there are parties, but this is a block away from UCLA, what do you expect? Overall, price not included, i give it a 7.5/10.

The 1st day that I moved in, I discovered that there were FAMILIES of cockroaches living in the entire apartment. I told the manager; he gave me a can of bug spray.

The water pipes are so old that the water that comes out of the faucets and the shower head is slightly yellow and smells. You have to run the water for 10 minutes before it is kind-of okay to use.

The mgr is awful. He doesn't fix anything, and then if he comes into your apt and notices that something is wrong (i.e., the faucet is leaking), he yells at you for not telling him.

The entire complex is dirty. There are roaches randomly throughout the place. The floor is slippery in the lobby and parking lots, and many tenants have slipped.

The walls are paper-thin. I can hear conversations of the people next door, upstairs, and also out in the hallway. The complex is also near the frat houses, and they have loud parties and random people screaming in the middle of the night. The mgr will tell you that the place is "very quiet."

The elevator rarely works. The dryers don't dry clothes very well.
