Ok so I never write reviews and wouldn’t feel the need to do so if it weren’t such an awful living situation. I know people say that all the time but I promise I am just trying to spare people from going through the same thing. When we were first moving in, my boyfriend and I were excited. We found an apartment we fell in love with located on Wilshire Corridor and we thought what could be better. Well almost anything could have been better. From the start there were a few slight issues we looked past. When we first saw the apartment, we noticed the paint on the walls was grey which contrasted with the white ceiling and the place was completely cleaned out. We loved this and the look of the apartment. We signed the lease and looked forward to moving in. Once we got the key, we noticed that the whole place was repainted white and a random stand-alone sink was sitting there in the middle of the place. We weren’t completely sure why they had repainted the entire place since we first saw the apartment as we were never told this would happen. We did not make a deal out of it and we’re still excited to live in this apartment together, despite the look of the place being completely different now. We then realized that there is nothing “luxury” about this building. For one, there is some sort of construction going on in the building every single day. It is going on as I’m writing this review. You are woken up by it on weekends and it goes on throughout almost all the weekdays. There is never any warning about it nor is it ever done discreetly. We rented out a “luxury penthouse apartment” which means that we are on the 5th floor (top floor) and hear noise from the roof, the site of most of the construction that goes on in this building. You will hear power saws, banging, thumping, equipment dropping, yelling, phone calls, etc all coming from the roof. With this occurring almost every single day when you’re working from home due to COVID-19, it becomes unbearable. Also unbearable are the constant water shut-offs. The building will text you almost once a week to let you know there will be an “emergency” water shut-off at some point in the week and it will certainly never turn back on when they say it will. I am not sure what the constant plumbing issues are in this building but that is certainly not something we signed up for. We were never notified about any construction to be done to the building or any plumbing issues when we signed the lease. I understand that there are times when repairs are necessary. But constantly repairing the building for the entire year that we have lived here? There have been times when the water has been shut off for an entire day without any real explanation and then the same will happen all over again the following week. You’re unable to take a shower let alone wash your hands or boil water. Let me get into the security at the building. To be fair, most of the security personnel the building hires are adequate and do the job. But why would you want to pay a premium to live somewhere with security when only MOST of the people hired actually do the job. Unfortunately, the one time we needed security to actually do something, we were told that we should take whatever needed to be done upon ourselves. We complained to management at which point absolutely nothing happened and the issue never resolved. That brings me to the owner of this building. Complaining about anything to the owner of the building gets you absolutely nowhere. If you have any concerns about living in this building, probably just keep them to yourself because the owner is not going to do a single thing about it anyway. Better yet, do yourself a favor and skip this building if you’re thinking of living in this area.

I stopped by this complex and was given a tour of a newly renovated unit. Everything was new from the wooden boards to the bathroom to the kitchen to the bedrooms. It is a very good price for the space and interior. There is security on the first floor. The hallways are a little narrow. Parking is not included in rent. It is an extra $75 per parking space. It is located within walking distance to UCLA and other stores/amenities. The maintenance people I met were not the friendliest people but still overall respectful. When you call to inquire about open units, though, the woman on the line is not very friendly and soft spoken. When she picks up, she doesn't say anything on the line and is not very forthcoming about any information. I just took the initiative to show up to the complex when I saw an opening online.
