This apartment complex is nothing more than a polished turd. It offers nothing for the price you will be paying other than maybe a slightly bigger area in square footage. The prior management company, Monem, was the owner of the building when I moved in. There was talk about replacing the nasty dirty blue carpet in the hallways with nicer tile, and painting the outside so it didn't resemble a crack den, and fixing the roof, none of it happened. The building was sold about 2 years ago to a new management company. Everything seemed like it was going to get better, but it really didn't, they painted the outside a very ugly burnt orange and brown, and started tearing up the blue carpet. They replaced it with the same style of carpet, but a different color, this time it was some sort of reddish hue. They installed security cameras on the outside and inside of the common areas, and that was the extent of the 'upgrades' they did. The roof still needs to be replaced, and the new building manager Frank Anke, is an absolute Buffoon. After the new management company took over and Frank became building manager, the turn around rate for people moving in and out almost doubled. There are a few people that have stuck around because it's rent controlled and they've been there for 15+ years and those people for the most part are pretty friendly. There is a terrible terrible woman who lives on the 3rd floor named Leslie Jenkins. Nobody in the building actually likes her. If you try to say hello, or good morning or whatever, she stares at you like you committed a crime, or you're the crazy one for trying to be pleasant. If you have pets, don't bother, because she will complain to Frank, who for some reason will back her up with her crazy claims of dogs biting her, and cats meowing too loud etc...The only good thing about the place is that it's walking distance to Beer Belly, The Bun Shop, Larchmont and a few other great areas to shop and eat. Other than that, I highly recommend you look elsewhere, unless Frank has been fired and Leslie has moved out and or passed away. Consider yourselves warned.
