Lived in Hollywood for over 10 years. Lived at Ardmore for a couple of them and I can honestly say it was by far, the worst apartment I ever had to live in. Management lacks professionalism and common sense. Security (although they put up a facade of 24hr front desk security) is absolutely NON-EXISTENT. Owners and Management are greedy, unethical and treat the tenants like they are uneducated idiots who are easily fooled. Got my car broken into in the "Secured Covered Parking" and was told that I was on my own because cameras are "not really on" and Ardmore is no held responsible in any way. The lower floors house young, easily stimulated kids whose mommies Co-Signed for them to get them in there, so noise complaints will be a regular thing. Furthermore, the "new renovated" apartments were put together so cheaply that I could have got better quality just ordering an "Ikea home". Dryers in the laundry DO NOT WORK! YOU WILL END UP WITH WET LAUNDRY!!! and management will not reimburse you the money you spent to dry or wash. Ardmore uses magnetic cards for the laundry room and the computer will sometimes 'gliche' out and leave you with only $5 credit after you put in a $20 bill!! (SERIOUSLY!) Mold has been found in MANY of the apartments and Ardmore claims that "they do no have to decide to be responsible for this." For years I woke up with a horrible cough when I lived there and the minute I moved out - MY COUGH WAS GONE!!! Definitely was not my health - I was a healthy, late 20 year old who worked out 5 days a week. I honestly could go on and on... I have some stories that would make you so upset that if you were a lawyer, you would offer to take my case Pro-Bono. I've been out of that facade of an upper class apartment for a while now and I can't tell you HOW HAPPY I AM NOW! I honestly feel terrible for anyone who has to live there. The tenants deserve so much better for the price they pay.

Would not recommend moving here. THey promise the world BEFORE you sign the lease making fraudulent offers of lease terms which are broken AFTER you move in. Careless and uncaring management staff and greedy corporate owners CIM group. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE Rent Raised $400.00 per month even though it was stated in WRITING that it would not be raised. Lied about construction noise and the effect that would have on tenants living here. Untrustworthy and not impeccable with their words.

This place is terrible. There was nothing wrong with the building before these unnecessary renovations. I liked the look of the place before, even if it was somewhat dated. Now, I feel like I'm walking into an office building and not a home. The hallways constantly smell of paint. The constant noise from construction is ridiculous. The pool is finally completed but I honestly don't see a significant difference. The management team is hard to get a hold of---heres a thought, if it says you are available 9 to 5, STICK WITH IT! Offsite parking lot charges $30 because some company wanted to install a security gate, this should be complementary. The rent is outrageous.

I just moved to this building in August 2010. i live on the top floor (12th floor but really the 13th, architects being superstitious and inserting a mezzanine level ("M") to avoid the unlucky number!) When I moved in the building was an early 1960s style building with lava rock front walls and small blue tiles along a sloping walkway which may have been a fountain or water fall at one time. All that has been removed and there has been extensive remodeling work, much to the chagrin of many tenants who live here. The work is not yet complete but what appears to be emerging is a more elegant and polished look. The building is located at the base of Whitley Heights in a small canyon in the heart of Hollywood. Most floors have stunning views of Los Angeles; mine looks west. I can see Century City, most of Hollywood, Mid-wilshire and the ocean on most days. The views looking east are even more spectacular as you can see downtown, the Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood sign and the majestic San Gabriel mountains. There is a large swimming pool, a well equipped gymn, a great laundry room, a computer room and a multi level subterranean garage. Whitley Avenue is 5 blocks east of Hollywood/Highland and 5 blocks west of Hollywood Vine. You can walk, bus, skate, bike or drive almost anywhere. The Hollywood Bowl is just a ten minute walk north. The neighborhhod is alive 24/7 and food is plentiful and affordable. I am quite happy living here. David Etezadi

Most of these reviews are posted are by a bunch of liars. I have lived over 2 years and yes they are renovated the place. But before they renovated they told everyone in the building what was going to happen. Water has been shut off with notice since they are replacing old rusted pipes, which you can't replace without turning off the water. A lot of these people are complaining about management and maintance, but as with anyplace you have to treat people with respect, which half these tenents don't.(i ha ve witness people yelling at management on numourous occasions). A week after one floor was renovated some idiot spilt bleach all over the carpet. That was nice. Every year for christmas they have a holiday brunch which is something i have never had in other buildings. Some of these review complain about parking, hello you live in Hollywood, you can't find abundant parking anywhere in hollywood. They even offer extra spots if you want to pay for them which is expected. Construction is taking place M-F from about 8am-4:30pm which are normal business for constrution Some people in the building are really nice and some are just plain rude ignorant people that I hope will move out. There are some people on the reviews that are saying they don't have building permits, But do really think with all these complaints to the city and housing department, that the city allows the contruction continue with out permits. I think not.!!! Overall this plave is great place to minus some of the people that live here. If you are thinking about moving take a tour and ask management about the negative complaint. In a building with over 200 units you can't please everyone. hopes this helps! A respectful tenant.
