This has to be the worst place to live ever. It is noisy and not well maintained but the absolute worst part is the lack of respect from management. The security team is the only good part but don’t even think of having a manager respond to requests for repairs or even act like they care. They will actually just blame others and state that everything is not their responsibility. Save yourself heartache and grief and live elsewhere.

Wow. What a terrible experience. We are looking for an apartment for our son in West Hollywood and included The Ardmore on our list of units to tour, against the advice of other students we know who have lived there. Housing availability is low so we thought we would cast a wide net. Our son's school friends told us the staff is rude and getting service requests addressed is very difficult and now I really believe it. We called to schedule an in-person tour and even received an email verification a few days before we arrived. We traveled from out of town and stayed in a hotel to make the appointment. We were informed that there are no units to tour upon arrival - no apologies were given and the staff was actually rude and unprofessional. I was shocked and it was such a sad and terrible way to start our day. So thankful we learned how bad the staff is before making any mistake of moving forward with this complex. Of note - the security person at the front desk was not a part of our experience and Mikey Contreras-Arroyo provided one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered in my life. I am legitimately shocked that anyone would make this person the face of their establishment.

As a prospective tenant, I encountered a really bad experience during my visit. I was surprised by the unprofessional nature of the onsite property management staff so I can only imagine how the experience might be after signing a contract. I was treated with disregard during my visit and was surprised at how rude the staff was. Save your time and don't bother with this one.

Discrimination of race, age...anything you can think of. Terrible management. Sheri needs to find another job and CIM management does not care about anything other than the almighty dollar. I hope the Ardmore gets bought out by better management. Overall I would never recommend CIM a group to anyone. The only people I see leaving good reviews are white kids. If you are a person of color...do yourself a favor and do not pay money you rightfully worked for here. They will act like they own you, try to make decisions for you...and even try to turn your roommates against each other. If “Everything that glitters isn’t golden” was a place it would be the Ardmore. Partying is fun, BUT not when a place keeps it going. The party has to end. If anything the youth will just end up turned out and with a drug/ alcohol addiction that is unmanageable. WORST place ever. Look at CIM’s class action lawsuits. The management is horrific & traumatizing in ways unimaginable.

This place is HORRIBLE, the ---- American guy that lives in Apt 1004 is constantly bagging his wall and has a mental illness. We were 3 girls who lived in 1003 next door to him and he would make perverted advances toward us and wanted to take us out for dinner and we kindly declined and sent several complaints to the manager and he denied everything. Management said they couldn't do anything because he was on "Section 8" for months we could hear him and his Transgender prostitutes having sex we know because the Tranny accidentally knocked on our door asking for him, it came to the point we had to cancel our rental agreement. Our neighbors in 1005 also said they have had it and will be moving out next month. Its not fair when we work hard for a living and pay a premium price, then have to live next to somebody who's on Section 8 that has no respect for their neighbors. What a disgusting miserable person he is. Several people made several complaints about him but management is not competent enough to handle this situation they have lost thousands of dollars from tenants that actually have a life and pay their bills without government assistance. So good luck moving here.

This place will cause you illness. The leasing office entirely is all staffed with bitter toxic women who take pride in bullying, coercion and will get in your personal life to try to make decisions for you. Each of these women did not only get reported to HUD for their age discrimination, racial discrimination and bias, but they also went out of their way to make sure we did not get the apartment. Living here dealing with the stress of not only CIM groups illegal activity has given me pre-cancerous cells. They turned my roommates against me suggesting my roommate call the police on though I was paying rent ON TIME every month & very quiet. Even after I managed to move because of the torture they caused they are still trying to kick one of my roommates out because of his dating preference. DO NOT go to this place. Abe, Jimmy & Ullyses the security guards should replace every last person in that leasing office. Every last woman in that leasing office including the manager must be miserable to inflict such hate towards hard working students and working professionals. Do not be deceived by this place. We have woken up to drunk people throwing beers physically at neighbors across the street. Rapists have come into that building and people are always partying there. Spare yourself the grief & blatant disrespect. The women running that office are incompetent and see you as a "number". I no longer have a relationship after all of the pressure the leasing office at The Ardmore has caused us and now have lymph nodes caused by the stress these people inflicted. My roommate has lost hair from fighting with these demonic people. Be sure to read the reviews, because this company has done quite a bit of illegal shady things that has led into class action lawsuits. These are the worst people I have ever encountered. Thank you to the security guards that made my stay worthwile. The leasing office never issued me keys, told me I couldn't use the amenities and when the cops came they already acknowledged that CIM GROUP had no grounds to kick us out. On top of it our lawyer never received any call backs or official paper work from their lawyer. These people's names start with an : S, J'....a, T... I am now fighting for my life due to these vile toxic women who are cold hearted demons. You've been warned. This place is not worth it. Myles at Redwood Urban is far better/ realistic with common sense and real solutions that neither CIM Group nor The Ardmore provided. I have never been so devastated in my life by such hateful people.

In the year I've been at the Ardmore, I've found myself thankful on a daily basis, and not just for the lovely apartments, great maintenance staff and superb management (especially Sheree, Ja'nata and Eva, who are the utmost professionals - so glad they are around!). Above all, this place treats their residents like valued friends, and makes my husband and I feel taken care of and safe. But best of all are the guys I want to specifically shout out - Abe, Jimmy and Neil, the front desk brigade. These guys are a gift. For a year, they have gone above and beyond to make my transition from across the country to my new home seamless. There are the little things, like answering questions, getting packages before I ask and opening the door as I'm digging for my keys, but then there are the bigger things. Without going into details, there have been situations where people were bothering me - not tenants, but outside the building - and these guys stepped in immediately to protect me and diffuse the situation. I love this neighborhood, but it is Hollywood, after all. You get the occasional difficult drifter or addict - yet, with these guys around, I have always felt completely safe. Abe is organized, focused and excellent at dealing with people - he's a master problem solver and handles every tenant situation with class and style. He oversees security for the building, and this guy is a total gem, really dedicated and hard-working (and funny, too!). He's probably destined for CIM higher-level management, but out of personal selfishness, I sincerely hope we don't lose him TOO soon. Abe is one of those guys you know are headed for big things, and I'm just lucky to have met him this early in that journey. Jimmy is equally professional, but also one of the kindest people I've ever met. There are the moments people don't see, but as a writer, I can't help but notice these details - elderly and handicapped tenants, who Jimmy dedicates himself to helping beyond any job requirement. I've seen him rush out to meet them when they arrive home and need help with the wheelchair, but even more, he pays special attention to making sure their needs are met every single day. One even told me in the elevator that without Jimmy around, he doesn't know how he'd survive on a daily basis - that's how much impact this guy has. Then there's Neil, who is a man of few words, yet emanating strength and behaving with utter professionalism. As a regular night worker, Neil sees some of the more difficult situations - like I said, this is Hollywood, and many tenants are young and understandably like to have fun. I've seen their drunk friends arrive and create drama, or even strangers who heard about a "party" and shouldn't be out in public, let alone at the Ardmore. No matter how difficult the individual, or extreme the situation, Jimmy quickly intervenes with a great mixture of authority, respect and quick decision-making. He is tough, but kind; sincere, put no pushover. This guy is a conflict negotiation expert, but also eternally polite - a perfect combo, especially in those late night hours. Okay, that was longer than intended. But really felt these guys deserved some props, and even better, a raise (hope you are reading this, CIM!). Thanks to Abe, Jimmy, Neil and CIM for giving me such a lovely, safe and inviting home. This place is THE BEST.

If Apartment Ratings.com offered a zero-stars rating, I would be using it for this tenant-trap of a property. Our journey to hell began in April when leasing agent Jessica Buford sold us oceanfront property in Arizona -- in other words, her leasing spiel did not come close to matching reality. Jessica stated that the building has a zero-tolerance policy for noise offenders and drug use. REALITY CHECK: As we were in the process of moving in and discovered the apartment was literally 90 degrees, we opened the series of patio doors to get fresh air. Well, if you want fresh air, forget it because what you will get instead is a steady stream of POT smoke. My partner and I are both highly allergic to pot smoke. We checked the lease: Use of illegal substances (INCLUDING medical marijuana) is strictly prohibited. We complained. Management could care less. DRUG USE IS RAMPANT AND TOLERATED BY MANAGEMENT Five months later as I am suffering adverse effects to my health, and after numerous complaints to Derek Gianola, the new Building Manager as of June 2015, it remains an unresolved issue varying responses to our email complaints. They state they cannot do anything about pot smoke from neighboring patios flood others' apartments. Latest response from Derek is, that despite what the lease agreement states, they actually DO allow medical marijuana and always have and always will. When we brought this up to the leasing agent (JB) after the first night in the apartment she said, "well, that IS the elephant in the room, isn't it." Are we to assume that every single twenty-something (and all of their partying "guests") and every forty-something who should know better (and all of their partying "guests") have medical marijuana use cards? Highly doubtful. But a police investigation will help determine that. PARTY NOISE Bottom line, there are parties 24/7 in the building, very frequently on the long expanses of balconies that span the side facing Whitley. The echo factor here is considerable, and management posted a memo in the elevators in May discouraging loud noise on patios. But when we have complained, and called security, and called the police no fewer than 12 times on one particular tenant, the response is basically that WE are the ones with the problem and WE should never have moved there if we didn't want to party. Damn right about that. But, dear Derek, if you want to have a 24/7 party building/drug motel/flop house, do everyone a huge favor and have your leasing associates tell prospective tenants up front. SKETCHY VISITORS 24/7 Another tenant mentioned in his review of the property the constant flow of guests in the building. It is a revolving door of the sketchiest, seediest people who come to visit and seemingly never leave. Not that the security doesn't try to keep up with the influx of "guests," tricks, pimps, dealers, and prostitutes. The second-shift security officer is a gem. But woe to those tenants who have a security-related issue after 11 p.m. when the extremely rude, exceedingly uncaring African-American guard takes the post. I've seen him on a nightly basis wave in his "buddies" rather than following the procedure to sign in guests. (Any apartment building that has to resort to requiring identification and sign-ins for visitors already has a bigger problem and is treating the symptom, not the disease.) Many of those "buddies" are the same night-crawlers that we, the working tenants, have to see and smell the next morning when we, the working tenants, attempt to make our ways to our vehicles without smelling like pot shop. BLACK MOLD? Testing is in progress for the greasy, black substance that blows from the building's "central AC" system. Because of this gunk that blows from the filthy, painted-over vents, we severely limit any use of the central, rather "forced air" system. But even with our thermostat turning off the "central" air, there remains a steady flow of air through the system, and subsequently, a steady spewing of the substance. The Los Angeles Housing Department is interested to learn if this is toxic black mold. Yeah, so are we.
