OK, I mean, I knew that moving into an apartment smack in the middle of Hollywood wasn't going to be the most peaceful place in the world, but the building looked nice and I neglected to see all the negative reviews before I signed my lease. What a mistake. Management does NOTHING to pre-screen their tenants, and will literally let anyone move in. Even for a bustling area, the noise and partying in this building are OUT OF CONTROL. Beyond unreasonable. I can deal with music and loudness on the weekend, especially since I know many of the tenants are MI students, but COME ON. This was like constant earthquake status. I was also living across the hall from a girl that was obviously conducting illegal sexual activities in her apartment. Bringing multiple men back and forth at all hours of the night. Slamming doors, running up and down the hallways and stairwells. It was like a different guy every hour. But whatever, thats none of my business. Lock your doors tight, who knows who will be tramping through these hallways. To top it all off, management was unfazed. The amount of attitude rendered me speechless several times. I couldn't even believe that I was being treated in such a manner by people I give money to every month on time without fail! This guy Phil was the worst. I lost several packages and pieces of mail. Don't ever get anything mailed to you here. When I finally had enough an moved out, two boxes were stolen from me from right under my nose. All of my kitchen stuff, gone. There are so many better places in Hollywood where you can get the same types of perks without all of the headache.

I lived here for 4 months and that was more than enough. Ever since i moved in March 2009 the management has been nothing but trouble for me and giving me the most attitude when ever i had to deal with them. A stanger on the street who owes me nothing doesn't give as much attitude as these guys who i've been paying my rent to every month on time. First of all when i moved in the apparment was infested with bedbugs causing my personal items to become infested too. When i went to report it to management they wanted me to pay for the treatment ($200). So i said now. They made me live with that infestation getting bitten every night for 2 months before they said it has to be treated cause they didn't wanted it to spread to other units. The bathroom walls are still full of mold and it keeps getting bigger by the day cause the fan is not working properly. Then my roomate moved out, i found a replacement and he filled out an application. They lost his $35 application fee and told us that we never payed it. I call management and Shantee tells me (And i quote) You've got people moving in and out of that unit and that is unexceptable. Afer one person. So i ask her can i go in to deal with this in person, she says i have to make an appointment cause she doesn't have time now. When i get to the office on time for the appointment that SHE made with me, SHE'S ON LUNCH! So i'm talking with Phill now who looks up the information on his computer says we never payed the application fee even though i have the receipt in my hand. He starts giving me the biggest attitude telling me that this is a waste of his time and that he's loosing his patience. He was constently raising his voice to me, a paying costumer, talking to me like if i was an idiot telling me Why is this so hard to understand?! He was threatening me to call his attorney, cause we've got someone living there who's not approved and i told him, the reason he's not approved is cause they didn't process his application for 5 weeks. Be aware that The Mark and The Victor Hollywood is unther the same management. I recomend you try sleep under a bridge before you sign a lease overthere.

I moved into The Mark Hollywood in October 2007 and I live on the ground floor with a pool view, and I enjoy living here. This place is close to everything, I walk to get dinner, to go to school and I havent found a resident here that is rude. I have read some of these reviews and if you guys think this is the worst place to live, WHY DONT YOU MOVE OUT? Just a thought. Everything posted on here is a big mess and most of it is years old. I dont think this place looks bad, and I dont think the management is rude at all. I there are some things that need some work like new hallway carpet, new lights in the hallways and something like a heated pool would be nice. I do not have any problems with ants or roaches and if you do then you are just plain dirty! I would recommend this place to others.

This place looks great from the outside but once you get inside you realize definitely dressed up. The old management never issued me a copy of the lease, lost the form that determines whether I get my security deposit back and were never very helpful. They were rude and when I complained about an old roomates constant guests told me that they could be signed onto the lease. The new management seems to have it together a little more. However the building is still being painted all the time due to the tenants constant graffitti. There were actually a group of homeless squatters living in an abandoned apartment for a while and when the management was aletered they thought the apartment was inhabited by a tenant. The water is never hot when you want to take a shower. And you have to pay for your own gas!!!!! You think that would make it always hot! Oh and if any of the other apartments bathrooms leak you better be prepared because toilet water is going to shoot through your lighting fixtures and cieling. Oh and the bathrooms seem to grow this strange mold on the cielings that the maintanence does not seem to think is a problem. Oh also, there has been multiple accounts of the police visiting the apartments due to the tenants. There was trailed up the stairs and down the hallway and I believe the stains are still there. Theres security, but its never regular that they are around. So, good luck...not worth the amount paid

All the good things that are being written about the Mark Hollywood apts. are from the management. Believe the NO'S...Like the other people said, it's dirty, over priced, people blast music all hours of the day and night. Lot's of young no class people leaving in the building who have left home for the first time and don't know how to act. If you need a place. Keep looking, you can find a better and cheaper place in Hollywood.

I moved into The Wilcox Apartments now The Mark Hollywood 6 years ago. After reading what everyone has written about the place you would think they have it mixed up with The Victor. It is very quiet at night, no one is ever in the pool, and they have security after hours. I plan on staying at The Mark for awhile. Also, I think all these unhappy people should go buy their own house. Its apartment living people!!!!

I moved out of The Mark a year ago this month after living there for 4 years. The reason was as many others have stated...ants and cockroaches, hot water off a lot, new mgmt was awful, building rarely secured but mainly because rent was increased every year with the last 2 mgmt companies. When The Mark took over rent went through the roof and I would not pay the price for my small apt. It took me over 9 months to get my deposit back!!! The Mark claimed I had a beginning delinguency on my account which I did not. I showed them my notice to vacate and the amount I was to pay, a copy of my check that cleared from the bank and they still would not refund my deposit. The Wilcox Mgmt sent them a letter stating I was paid in full and still refused to pay me my money. I spent hours a week making phone calls, stopping by speaking w/ numerous apt. mgrs because they changed every couple of weeks and nothing would get resolved. I even got a phone call one day w/ the mgr laughing saying that my check would be in the mail...nothing. I sent certified letter to their vice president with all my documentation from every one I spoke to, the dates, responses...or lack of and had to threaten to get a lawyer until I got my money. Not worth your time...wasn't worth mine but it was the principle. The money was mine and I wasn't going to let them keep it and try this on others.
