I lived here for 4.5 years until I got pregnant and bought a house in Toluca Lake. My hubs and I lived in a studio the first year, it was small but affordable and the neighbors in the building where our windows were facing were SO LOUD. We couldn't do much about that because they're an entirely different entity so we just requested to be notified if another apartment got listed in the building. Our next door neighbors were even LOUDER and our building manager was absolutely on top of it; I'd let him know at 1 am when they'd have their tv on blast to where our walls would rattle, and would hear their doorbell in 10 minutes then... quiet. We had to pay for another parking spot as studios only have 1, but it wasn't that much a month so it wasn't a big deal. Compared to what other apartments charge for extra parking, if they even have parking at all, it's pretty much a steal. We eventually moved into a loft apartment where it's quieter and we were happy with that apartment and stayed there for 3.5 years. The courtyard that shares many balconies echoes but for the most part, the neighbors are cool and if you ask them to quiet down at night, they do. There have been -------s that party all night that don't care about keeping the peace with neighbors and the manager takes care of them with a couple warnings and finally kicks them out. The grounds are ALWAYS clean. The plants are watered, the common areas are always Fabuloso'd, the carpets in the hallways are stained but cleaned at least twice a year. The manager answers any and all questions on time and gets things fixed in a timely manner. There was only once where we were charged for a plumbing thing but we reasoned with him why we shouldn't pay and he got it. Lastly, the street itself does have a lot of homeless/druggies but they don't hang too close to the building. There have been a couple times where someone was roaming the parking garage or in the stairway... we called the manager right away and it was taken care of immediately. The building is usually secure. You're walking distance to Runyon for hikes, Wattles Mansion to walk your dogs, Ralphs, The Woods (a rad dive bar), Set & Flow Yoga (my fave), CorePower Yoga, Pure Barre and lots of food places (Bossa Nova, Berri's, Soy Sauce Bowl, In & Out). I miss living here but we figured it wasn't cool to walk a stroller with a baby past homeless people shooting up on Sunset. TOTALLY RECOMMEND.

This is a nice apartment with rather quiet neighbors and a very courteous staff - they fixed a leaky faucet I complained about the next day. The location is nice, close to a Ralph's and other shopping centers. Bus stops are very close and I manage to get to UCLA in about a 25 minute bus trip, excluding rush hours. There are security cameras all over including the underground, included parking structure, so I feel safer. If you're not able to live directly next to UCLA, you might as well live a few minutes further away and pay a lot less in a nicer place, that's why I chose this place and I'm glad I did.

Although the carpets are somewhat dirty and the hallways are partially dark, with only 7 months of living here I have seen management steam clean the carpets in the hallways, they have undergone pesticide control in my apartment and also held an emergency alarm system throughout the building. The apartment complex is very secure, it has; intercom access, surveillance cameras, and you need a key to go inside the the main entrance, the parking lot, the elevators, the laundry rooms, the pool, which makes extra safe. I have researched with other buildings around the area on amenities and this one by far is the least expensive, it has a pool in the terrace a sauna and jacuzzi, and also great underground parking. Inside the apartment there is central AC, dishwasher, large closet space, fireplace, good size bathrooms and the balconies are a reasonable size. Of course it's not luxurious but it is ample, clean, and safe. Oh, and about the noises I have been very lucky to have the neighbors that I do, and I also have the previlage of being young. I am a satisfied resident throughout.

That whole post about there being balconies for every unit is a LIE!!!!!!! There is a tiny "catwalk" barely six inches wide outside of our window. Hardly a balcony! This is the norm for most of the units.
The onsite staff are very sweet, but totally unable to solve minor problems between tenants. The main problem in this building is the noise. Most people who live here are mid twenties and very LOUD. Music, heavy traffic, and loud sex. The management can't solve the problem, even though it says on the lease agreement that after 9pm there is to be little to no noise at all. Most people seem nice, the others just ignore you.
The hallways are very dark, and the carpeting is usually very dirty. But the parking, pool, and sauna are great. I wouldn't use the hot tub though. It's usually really slimy looking. The outside landscaping is flawless.
I wish I could say that this place was great because it's really centrally located, and should have been perfect given all the great amenities. But, we can't wait to move out. It's way too expensive for what you're getting. We should have known though....when we were moving in, a nice couple was moving out. They said they couldn't stand sleeping with earplugs anymore. Now I understand what they meant.

You have a lot of privacy in these quiet apartments. For example, all windows have blinds and you feel very secure. All apartments have balconies so that you can enjoy some fresh air. Everyone that lives in the building is very friendly and willing to help each other, for exapmle, I have gotten help carrying my groceries into the building from neighbors. The gated parking is a very nice feature. Nobody without a pass can get in, so even late at night you feel safe getting out of your car.
