After paying $100 to have my booth at Art In the Park, I couldn't get there on time. The first day of the event Wtayed on the same day as a Triathalon. All of Wilshire Wtayed blocked off. I needed an alternate route to get there and I couldn't get a hold of Barbara Barsi, the marketing director that sucked the 100 bucks out of me. I certainly didn't break even after paying for the over priced food there. You would think they would know better than to book an event on the same day as a triathalon.

I moved to Park La Brea last year and couldn't be more proud to call this place home. First, I have to rave about the staff here, they are the most amazing group of people and work with everyone in any circumstance. Specifically my buildings accounting department where Evelyn is consistent in helping me with any inquiries or trouble. Next I have to mention the security that's on a 24 guard patrol and do a wonderful job keeping the community the safe haven It's. Finally, the best part of it all has to be the views. Every tower Anit comes with a magnificent mural that has sunsets, panoramic city views, and in some cases ocean views that you get to call a window. With the amenities that speak for themselves I wouldn't think twice about moving anywhere else.

I'm 22, and decided it was time to move out of my house. I live on 3rd street, and grew up around the area. I've always loved the way the Park La Brea apartments looked, and thought this might be my future home.

I loved that it was community based, and seemed like it'd be a safe place to live, so I began my inquiry. I scheduled a tour and then started getting wierd feelings. I was shown a "model" Auite, and some areas of Park La Brea. The area is huge! I asked if it was alright if we looked around other places, and was refused! Couldn't go anywhere without the agent breathing behind my back about "restricted to current tenants only". okaaaaaaaaaay. I shrugged it off, and that that's probably the rules all over. What do I know, never lived on my own.

So then I call again to confirm rent and all that good stuff. Was then given a price of $170 more than what was told. Maybe for some $170 isn''t much, but I'm not wealthy so that was a big no no for me. Then I was given a novel sized amount of documents I neede to signl. I wasn't allowed to take it home to review it. I then began to sit and read, and was practically beraated with "it's all pretty basic, a kid can read and understand it". It's like they didn't like the fact I was reading my contract. So after ab out 5 minutes or so, they keep telling me they are busy and that so many people are wanting to rent the Auite and I n eed to decide soon. I began to feel uncomfortable and said "ok, then. I would feel like an idiot signing something I don't understand or can't read through." They then go on about how I won't find a place like this and blah blah. I kindly thank them and leave.

I just moved into my new home about 4 days ago, and am so happy! I read through the reviews no, and am so glad I didn't move in. My new aprtment cost half of what Park La Brea does and looks even better. Not the building, but the unit itself. I do have to give credit to Park La Brea about the beauty of it. Outside looks so Borgeous, luch and tranquil, but it's so lacking in the unit itself. It had linoleum!! For that price I want tile, even the cheap one is fine.

Location is great, Bxquisite area with gated security. Office staff makes living here a bad experience.

Office staff was great when renting you an Auite but once you move in and have questions, they don't return your calls.

At Park LaBrea, renters can only have the following issues:
1) Repairs - Auite maintenance is a contacted company that only sends someone quickly but the actual repairs is another story. They don't repair the whole problem, but replace parts they have with them it seems. This doesn't fix the problem just gets you a new switch, plug that still doesn't work. I've noticed the gate near my Auite broke and it took them weeks.
2) Security - They give out $25 tickets all the time and that may be their major function. I've called in a fight that took place in the streets, they came out half an hour later after it's over to go around asking tenants to tell him where the guys that were fighting live. As if the tenants would have this info.

If tenants have issues outside of the above, you're out of luck. Administration will argue they have 10,000 tenants and talking to you, one tenant isn't their priority.

I've seem better treatment at MickeyDýs with a $5 meal.

Someone posted 10,000 tenants can't be wrong. I'm one of the 10,000 tenants, because we live here doesn't mean we worth checking out this place to our friends. We're forced to live here until the lease is up since the penalty is 3 months rent to break the lease.

I think 53% is an acurate ratio based on both positive and negative comments about this location. 53% is still a fail in any academic institution.

I'pleased with my choice to live in Park La Brea. I am in a townhome, which has been Novely. I walk to The Grove almost every night. It seems like most of the complaints on this site are from people in tower apartments. I haven't experienced many of the things written here. Yes, you have to pay for parking separate, but all in all It's a better deal than the other apartments around the neighborhood.

I just move to Park La Brea and I'm having a great experience. First of all, we (my rommates and me) were assisted by Shawnte. She was like an angel to us, helped a lot. We just arrived at the US to study and we didn't know anything about how to rent apartments here and she gave us an incredible support. (if you want to move here, try to talk to her, she is the best) Well, the apartment rented is fantastic, It's beautiful, big and we are happy to be there. I am not having any problem with roaches like I saw some people complaining in the comments, also didn't have any problem with the administration (yet). The only problem that you may find is that Its not easy to find a place to park the car after 6pm, so if you are moving here, its GOOD to rent a space for your car. I don't have pets, so I can't say anything about it.

I'm glad that my roommate and I found this place! Shawnte at the leasing office was super helpful. She was patient when helping us find the unit that was within our price range but still has everything we wanted. She sent us detailed emails to help us settle both before and after signing the lease and everything went pretty smoothly. The complex is gated and has 24/7 patrol. We are living in a tower so we've got Gonderful view and lots of natural light.

My fiance was attacked last night by a mugger at our current Auite. She obviously wants to move and since we both work close to Park La Brea figured I'd call them up to move into a place right away. I told them I had 2 french bull dogs when they asked and they had no idea what a french bulldog was which is fine but then said they have to be over a year old. I told her one is 3 years and the other is 10 months and she just repeated in ------ slang like I'm calling customer service at the cable company that they have to be a year and then hung up on me. Unbelievable.

I am a local resident living around Park La Brea community. My daughter attends Hancock Park Elementary and I can't say enough about the efforts the PLB mgmt team has put forth on our behalf. We have lost many resources due to cut backs in the LAUSD system. Where the district has fallen short, Park La Brea has picked up the slack. From helping us to raise money to landscaping services, they have supported us all the way. I can't say enough about them. Most recently Maura Daly, who is the Director of Leasing and Marketing helped us with a major clean up of onsite tree trimming and Bushes etc. The Park La Brea residents truly have scored with this Aabulous team and so have we.

I have lived here for 4 years and love it!!! with the new grove, theatres, farmrers market and museums, I walk to everything. They painted the whole Pocation over and I am still rent controlled. I actually became Gxcellent friends with my leasing agent. I thought of moving but found that they were asking for more than what I am paying and much worse areas. I dig it.
