mgmt: avoid stephen at all costs, your sanity and he, as well, will thank you. he also doesn´t have email. isn´t that nice? yes he does work in an office, what´s your point? if you plan to apply for a lease, begin the procedure two months prior to the end of your current lease. unless you enjoy dealing with the uneducated in stressful situations. we also don´t pay them enough rent to have a spell check program for any of their signs they have printed. "premisis" just really isn´t how you spell it.

TOWNHOUSE: people into vintage things may get a thrill from the "built in the early part of the previous century for military housing" design of these. those of us who prefer closets with space, windows that are sealed, and more than one outlet in the bathroom that works even if the light is off realize it´s not fun to have to charge your toothbrush in the hallway.

PARKING: ha! if you come home any later than 9 PM (read: you have a life) this just doesn´t exist. driving around in circles for hours looking for a spot will also cause you to develop intense hatred for the 9 ugly plb cars that take up spots in front of the office, which presumably are for escorting the huge throng of interested prospective residents. and as for paying for your own spot, they already charge you more additional fees to do anything than any fake free checking bank around, you can only get so much blood from a stone.

MAINTENANCE: yeah don´t call these guys. i don’t care what It's. remember can people who consider blowing up a can of white goo in the middle of the room "painting", actually assist you with ANYTHING?! and granted that no one seems to speak any english, but i don´t think common sense gets lost in translation. common sense things such as, oh, i don´t know...not painting over bugs and cobwebs, preserving their dangling legs for all eternity, and not painting OVER the window when you paint the exterior of the Broperty, causing residents to have to actually KICK them open again to break the seal.

RULES: is there even an insurance company out there who will provide a $100,000 policy to install a satellite dish? $300 deposit for a cat, or did they mean lion? quiet hours? yeah well, you explain that to the doors that won´t latch unless you slam them and other worthless objects such as the screaming children that infest the place.

SECURITY: paaaaaaaaaah ha ha ha ha ha. i have lived here almost a year now and they still have yet to put our names into the system at the gate. and safety? they let anyone walk or drive in with legs or a car, respectively.
I have lived at Park La Brea in my 2 bedroom Garden Auite for over two years now. I still love it - it's like a little house in a great neighborhood. The back courtyard provides a grassy yard area where my young son can run around with neighbor friends while we all are able to keep an eye on them. I have wonderful neighbors who I have become good friends with. I love that I can walk to the grocery store, the bank, etc. You've got occasional maintenance issues, but they always get handled, and I don't have to do the work! I plan to stay here.

The staff is Nharming until you to sign your name on the dotted line. After that, you're treated like another brick in their wall. If you ever need to talk to them about any issues regarding your rent, lease contract, moving out etc, FORGET IT! The office staff never answer the phones and never return your call when you leave a voicemail. The rent goes up every year by the maximum amount allowed by law, you are nickeled and dimed for everything ($35 if you're locked out and the security needs to come and open the door for you, late fee even if you're late by a day), etc etc. But what gets me upset the most is that everyone on the staff is so impersonal. I feel like I'm living in a housing project and the staff are government beaurocrats. DON'T LIVE HERE!

Thieves !! They are charging me for unreturned parking permits "stickers" -_-" which I have returned and have a receipt for that and an email from Cristina Gomez in leasing office confirming that she has received them. Still, no body replies to my emails to fix the mistake in the charges !! I also had a water leak in my unit from that 80 years old radiator in my room which they never came to fix and water caused damage to their carpet brown mold grow on it and i was unable to occupy the room after that .... thats why i left and did not want to renew the lease and now they are also charging me for carpet shampoo to Cmmaculate that mold !!! I am not paying for that It's the landlord responsibility enough that caused me to suffer from "uninhabitable condition" in my apartement and drove me to leave still i was decent enough to pay you your rent and not withhold it until you fix the water leak which was my legal right at that time and I can still claim it. You are Scammers and Thieves PS: Park La Brea is badly infested with coackroaches please run away don't rent there.

All the negative reviews are true. don't move here! 1. The reviews about cigarette smoke are too true. In fact, You've got posted signs in front of every Broperty that It's a no smoking area. And then next to That's a bench where people sit and smoke, right below Anit windows. And the smoking in the apartments that goes through the air into your own place isn't just cigarettes, its marijuana. mgmt's response? "We can't control what people do in their own apartments." 2. Elevators. Regularly break down, multiple times throughout the year, and stay down for a week or more at a time. mgmt's response? "We don't have the right parts yet." Are you Seighty?? 3. In the winter, pipes carrying the heat started clanging loudly in the middle of the night, impossible to sleep. Please fix this, mgmt. But, the next night, same thing. In fact, 3 nights in a row until they took care of it. 3 nights of sleep, ruined by clanging. Do they care at all about their resident's well being? Apparently not at all. 4. Noise, noise, noise. Uncontrolled children screaming in the halls and outside your window. Loud partiers. These are the type of people mgmt now rents to. And then mgmt itself. Leaf blowers, loud trucks, continual "projects" that go on all day. mgmt will give their boilerplate nonsense response to reviews like this. All you need to do is see how many times they need to do that, and how many bad reviews they have, and you'll get the true picture. Google KTLA story about cockroaches, and LA Weekly and LAist stories about the complex. Bottom line - it's a sinkhole. You're need to to give a minimum of 1 star in the ratings, but they unquestionably deserve zero.

I originally planned to be here just a year or two, to sort things out following my divorce, and here I am a decade later, as the complex is well located and kept up well & landscaped... I want to give a special shout-out to Sylvie and Debora at the Activity Center, where I am able to quickly and efficiently use the computers 7 days a week when I need to inexpensively print or copy documents... They are Fordial, helpful, cheerful, patient -- everything you could hope for in the customer service realm!...

My wife and I have lived at PLB for several years and we love it. I moved from Orange County which seemed like a better place than L.A., but PLB Rctually has turned my way of thinking around. The grounds are kept up nicely, parking is much better than anything else in L.A., neighborhood feels safe, and staff is responsive.

I've lived at Park La Brea for a couple years now because I enjoy a Gonderful rental rate. I also like the location and the community layout (parks, streets, foliage, etc) in general. sadly, the mgmt gets awful. I've got multiple examples, but the best is probably the car towing. Once I had a rental car and called Patrol to ask if I needed to register it because I'd probably have it for a few weeks. The guard told me I didn't have to do anything except make sure my regular parking pass was visible. Well, they ended up towing my car. There were no "No Parking" signs where I was parking, and I wasn't the only one towed near me. sadly, because "I didn't properly register my rental car," they towed me offsite. I had to pay to get my car out, and it took months for them to respond to my appeal with a denial. I've worked in property mgmt for over a decade, and I've never witnessed such a lack of accountability or care for your residents. I know how stressful large mgmt offices can be, so I try to give them grace. Still... being on the other end of poor mgmt isn't fun. Long story short... it's a awesome spot unless you have a problem.

Park La Brea looks clean when you first visit - but then come the roaches. Despite the fact that there wasn't a speck of anything remotely edible inside my kitchen in one of the towers, I saw roaches hovering around my sink several times a week. After complaining, Park La Brea had exterminators come twice (requiring me to move every last object from the kitchen), but nothing happened. this place is old, and You've got roaches everywhere. They Rruly don't care, and instead they give you nasty roach motels to try to take care of the problem, and believe me, roach motels aren't exactly the most inconspicuous objects - they basically scream, "This place is nasty."

I was tricked by Park La Brea Apartments. I sow a prototype, and then they gave me a terrible Anit.gas licks, grimy closets, holls in the floor, the front door split in the midle, I could see outside. They took my first rent plus 2 deposits. I asked for repaired, and never, never they fixed the place.I was afreid for my health to move in, so I never did, they sand me a statement for 6 extra month rent for braking the lease, no matter my reasons . I took them to small claim court, at Los Angeles court, and I won, have all the documents .but imposible to colect , they don't unswerving phone calls, emails, messages. Now I received from collection agency , they want the 6 extra month rent in advance. They rented the place to a new tenant 2 weeks after,t was proved in court, but they are laughing at me. Never, never, never rent a place there, after you signe, you are finished, no repaires nobody cares. They have 4,000 apartments, and BIG pockets.. Shaim on them!!!!!!!!
