If you want an apartment complex with great amenities, great staff and reasonable prices in downtown LA you should definitely consider Glo. I lived in a 2 bedroom apt for 2 years and was so satisfied with everything that moved one floor down to a three bedroom. Additionally, Glo is located in the perfect area of downtown, away from the noise and congestion you will find in areas like Spring St. Further, Glo's staff is extremely accommodating and friendly and they have always helped me with any issues or concerns I may have had. Finally, whenever there has been any issues in the apartment our requests were always answered in a timely manner. In fact, our microwave crapped out two days ago and within a day we had a brand new microwave put in.

Wow!!! We have a large unit almost 3k a month and guess what?! I can't even take a hot bath or shower when I want to because for some reason my water takes 10 minutes of consistent running to warm up.. Nothing like wasting water and my money on the power bill. The residents here literally let their dogs piss and ---- in the elevator and don't wipe it up. Love the smell of steamy urine in the morning.. Management?? They do nothing about that one.. Also sucks that to have friends or deliveries come up they can't call you from the door you have to go down no matter what. It would be nice if you could buzz people in and security worked.

I have lived in a variety of places in a variety of cities over the last several years, and the Glo Apartments in downtown LA has been my favorite of them all. I've been there for just about a year now and have never had a complaint. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The neighbors are all very friendly as well. Location is prime. Even though the place is a fortress and it is hard to get in if you do not have a FOB, it is good to know that safety is a primary concern and not just anyone can get in. ------------------ in leasing office are awesome. Every time I walk by I get a smile and/or a wave. Anytime I had a question, they have had an answer. It is good to know that anytime you have an issue your property staff has your back. When it comes to maintenance, the service manager ----- is always quick to act and on top of things. Glo seems to do a great job of recruiting friendly residents. Neighbors all seem to be very nice and easy to get along with as I have made friends with many residents in the building. The pool area and recreational room are awesome places to hang out and meet people in the building. The amenities here are great, especially the convenience of the gym. Location speaks for itself being walking distance from LA Live and the Staples Center, the subway, and many awesome restaurants. All in all, I am very happy I chose Glo. Staff is great and location is perfect. My recommendation is: Get to Glo!

GLO is terrible! It is the most poorly managed property in DTLA outside of the BarryShy properties. The biggest frustration is the property manager, ------, doesn t do (or can t do) anything to solve your problems when they arise and a lot of these problems are simple to fix. Its almost like she doesn t care. Which is frustrating when you are paying $1500 - $2700 / mo in rent. One would expect some customer service paying that amount of money for rent. I m just going to go down a list of things you can expect at GLO. Office is closed Sunday and Monday - There is no representative from property management for two days out of the week. If you have a package being held in the office or are having one delivered, you are SOL my friend. Huge demographic swings in the complex - GLO will rent to anybody. You have the professional single 30 something, to the family with a small child, to four college students crammed in to a one bedroom, to the shady character that has a lot of money but obviously doesn t work a 9 to 5 (use your imagination on that one). Lack of Security - Just look at the photo I uploaded. It says it all. Security is here limited hours, like 10 pm to 4 am. The cameras are sparse and don t work well and no one is watching them real time. Basically anyone can wander through the complex. People have had cars, motorcycles, bikes and other things stolen from the garage because of lack of security. If you are thinking about moving to GLO and are concerned about the security, just come here at night and you will see how easy it is to access the building and you probably won t see a security guard period. The fact of the matter is there should be two security guards on staff when the office is closed, one watching the cameras and one roving. GLO is like a campus, its two buildings. To keep the tenants safe you need a good surveillance system (which are cheap nowadays) and two guards. Plumbing Sucks - It s always getting shut down for repair. See my photos Elevators are Always Breaking - I ll take a photo of that next and upload it. Parking is a Mess - People are always parking in other people s spaces. Tenants also invite their guest over and have them park in other tenants spaces. Nothing like coming home from a hard day at work to find someone else parked in your spot. To the new management teams credit, I must say, parking situation has gotten a lot better. It used to be the Wild West in the garage here. They basically started towing people, no questions asked, and that solved the issue really quickly. Internet is Always Going Down - Don t know what s up with that, but you can only get it from this shady --- company Aerio Connect. Noise - The walls are paper thin and you can here your neighbors beside you and above you and when they walk in the halls etc. This basically boils down to the cheap construction of the building. Trashy Neighbors - There are a lot of USC and FIDIM students here and they are not cleanly and don t have respect for the common areas. They are always throwing trash on the floor in the hallways, the elevators, the garages, and outside. Again see my pics. I ll post more. Now everything I listed above can be solved very easily and that s the frustrating part. Its like Equity Residential doesn t care. That is the main frustration of the tenants, the lack of concern to solve trivial issues. The management team can t seem to get ---- done. (I will say the asst manager, ----------------, is really cool and understands customer service but there is only so much he can do. Your best bet is to go to him if you have a pressing issue) Don t believe the hype. Some of the reviews here are from the management or friends of the management. I know one of the dudes that gave a great review. He basically wants to chong dip the manager, that s why he gave a good review --------------------------. So think twice before you move here. Do your homework. If you like spending money and not receiving any customer service, GLO is the place for you. Let me close in saying I hope others read this review and do a review as candid as mine for their apt complex. As I will be leaving GLO when my lease is up, I would like someone to give me the skinny on my new apt complex before hand. We all work hard for our money and a little customer service isn t much to ask for. So we all have to stick together and help each other out. We need to give a heads up about these apt complex that charge sky high rents while lacking in the customer service dept. How would you like to be expecting a package and can't receive it? It's bad enough Glo's office is closed on Monday's, but today (tuesday) the office was closed ALL DAY and why? Because the employees were having an employee Day off PARTY!! These unprofessional people are partying while residents can't receive packages! What a joke! Also the elevator in A was broke all weekend. How would you like to carry groceries or move with no elevator!!! Also, waters shut off tomorrow from 11am-5pm this happens on a weekly basis.

I have been living at Glo for over two years and I am shocked at some of the horrendous reviews written about this apartment complex; I don't know what apartment complex those people are living in, but it surely isn't Glo. I have been living at Glo since Holland Residential managed the building and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER that Equity has taken over. The staff is extremely friendly and always helpful. Any time I have a maintenance issue, it is fixed within the day and the management goes out of their way to help me with any issues. If you are looking for moderate pricing apartments in an unbelievable location downtown, you cannot go wrong with Glo. Glo is a perfect-sized apartment complex that you recognize fellow residents in the elevators and you are not a stranger as you would be in a monster complex like the Medici.

Two shady Managers. They have no respect. They told me I could sublease and in the middle of arranging the sublease, a new manager was hired and she said I no longer could move out. One apartment managers baby's daddy was looking into my apartment at night. They treat you like a liar when you say something about it. Corporate is run by snakes. My roommates car got stolen and they robbers pushed my car in the middle of the garage to steal my roommates car. Management then towed my car even though they have my cars make and model , license plate number and parking space on file and could have called me to tell me my car was going to be towed. cost me $300. They told me security is a curtsey and are not responsible if security doesn't do there jobs. Me and my mom cleaned the apartment top to bottom and still took out $400 of the security deposit. Plus, this place is disgusting, dog pee and poop EVERYWHERE! one dog peed on my door mat everyday and management did nothing about it. Gross Gross Gross

If you like hot water or running water for that matter then DO NOT MOVE TO GLO. Every week since I have moved in there is at leave one issue with either hot or running water. Parking is horrible too. They assign people other peoples spots and have no guest parking. Also, the price look somewhat reasonable at first, but there are MANY hidden charges. Management never knows anything and half the time when I go down to the office during office hours it's closed! So annoying and unprofessional. DO NOT MOVE TO GLO! SAVE YOURSELF THE MISERY!

I don't know where to even begin with this as there were so many occurrences of them screwing us over. Not to mention the management probably changed 10 times during our 2 years there, so every time we finally could get the incompetent management to understand our situations, a new even more incompetent management team would magically appear overnight with no warning and would have no idea what we were talking about so we would have to start over. It seemed like every time we were close to having a situation resolved, a new staff would show up and have no idea about anything going on, and everyone who had been working with us would be gone (and all the progress we had made would be gone with them). This lead to us dealing with the same horrible situations over and over and over again. Here are just a few of the several issues we had, if you don't want to read through them all skip down to #5: 1. Them continually posting notices on our car in our spot that it would be towed. We told them several times to stop and they would say ok then it would just keep happening. Then we were informed that we had never paid for a spot and were not in "the system", and had to physically dig up evidence (thankfully we had copies) of where we had paid for it in the first place. We got the typical response from management "well it shouldn't be that way, i don't know why it was like that" instead of an actual apology. Then, after all that, we continued receiving the notices. 2. Notices of possible eviction posted on the outside of our door the day after rent was due. Even though we paid the rent, they hadn't factored into account our "move-in special" concession, which was only $80 a month, and posted these messages on our door because the rent "wasn't paid in full". After talking with them we found out we weren't allowed to apply the "move-in special" on a per month basis, even though we had specifically confirmed that this was ok with them a few months before. This went on for a few months. 3. Maintenance requests outstanding for months. In particular, we had an accident that caused a dent in our stove. We told the management at the time what had happened and they were going to fix it for us. They kept telling us the part was coming and it would be fixed in a week. They never fixed it, then like magic, they disappeared and were replaced by an entirely new staff. The new staff never understood the situation when we told them and acted like we were trying to pull a fast one on them or something. Eventually after several times of talking with them they agreed to resolve the issue, and like before kept putting it off saying "there was a problem ordering the parts", or "the parts should be here soon", or "this should be fixed no later than the end of the month". Then again, they would disappear and be replaced. This happened again and again 4 or 5 times of the course of 6-8 months and the stove never got fixed. 4. When our lease ran out we decided to go month to month. At first they sent us a notice that our rent would increase $400. Then a week later we received a notice saying that it would increase $200. When bringing them these notices and asking them why the numbers are different their response was the typical "I don't know". We asked them if they were just making these numbers up as they go. They said they would "be nice" and let us pay the lower amount, even though that should have been the correct amount the whole time. They acted like they were doing us a favor, but instead they had made us babysit them through another ordeal just to get a simple task done correctly. 5. One day when looking at our bill we noticed an outstanding charge of $200. We asked the management what the balance forward was for, and as usual, the response was "I don't know". It took them several weeks to get back to us, with us having to go down and remind them about it every few days (as usual). They told us to hold off on paying rent until they got it figured out, so we did. They finally told us that the charges were from late fees because they had deposited our rent checks late even though we turned them in on time. They told us what our total outstanding balance was at that point with the adjusted charges and we paid it in full, and confirmed that our balance was zero'ed out at that point. The next month an outstanding balance of $800 showed up on our bill, but guess what? The management that had worked with us through the situation was gone, and the new management had no idea of the situation. There was also no documentation at all from the old management. This balance continued to fluctuate randomly between $800-$1200 over the next several months. Everytime we started making progress on getting this resolved, a new management team would show up one day with no warning and we'd have to start over. When paying our last rent check we confirmed with the management at the time that our balance was zero'ed out and we were good to go. They looked in their computer and assurred us this was correct. A month later we receive a check back from our deposit for $36... out of the $1000 that we put in. It turns out they never adjusted the balance, and that management team is now gone and the new one doesn't have any idea what we are talking about. When I try to explain this, they don't believe us. So they have basically successfully screwed us out of about $1000 and there is not much we can do about it. Also, don't let their rent prices decieve you. The prices they advertise don't include any parking, which is typically included in the rent pricing at several other places we checked in to. You can expect to pay an additional $150 per single parking space on top of the listed rent. They also penny pinch on the pet fees which are $50 per month, the highest of anywhere I have ever checked. They also like to adjust these prices and hike them up a few dollars whenever they can to pinch a few more pennies. One other thing, the elevators seem to break at least once every month or two, making it a pain to get around. Also the front door to our building (building B) broke on several occassions making you have to enter and exit through the parking garage (if they even left it open for you, otherwise you'd have to walk all the way around to the other building entrance). Both of these problems took them several weeks to fix. Also, we had the directTV guy come to help us with a problem we were having and after leaving the apartment to check something and coming back, he informed us that there was a homeless man living in the communications room on our hall. So please, do yourself a favor and stay away from GLO! This place is horrible, even though the building is nice, the pool is nice, and the location is pretty good... it's just not worth it. The management will screw you over, and it is an awful experience.
