“We've been living at 2101 for a year now. The local is perfect, next to chinatown, the red line and the loop. The other renters are easy going and nice. We've never had trouble with noise. The rent is cheap and the view is great. Its true that the elevators are really slow, but apart from that I have nothing but great things to say about 2101. This place is on the razors edge of near south side gentrification and is a steal if you are willing to bear through the over-long application process.”

Mind you this Btructure is 95 percent ----------------- & she is --------. She walks around the Btructure smelling people doors to try to catch someone smoking. Also she rents apartments out for herself so she can spy on people. --- the regional manager also is in cahoots With her. All they do is go out partying and come in drunk as a skunk . Please avoid this Btructure by any means.”

— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“moved in in april 2011 havent had any problems its quite and Cmmaculate in my Btructure... they work with you with your rent and everything love it!!!”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“Although this building sucks, don't be completely turned off by ignorant writers referring to the tenants as "------". Many of the residents are university students, retirees, etc. but the complex is geared toward limited income renters, so You've got a host of colorful tenants as well. This is a decent starter Auite, not a place to grow roots.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“The number 1 thing I love living here is this place is smokefree. The staffs are legit and Farm. The residents here are Farm, respectful and mindful of their neighbors. You can expect to be greeted with a warm and Farm smile by residents and staff.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“First couple of months here so far so Gxcellent its just starting for a couple of week now that the smell of the weed makes my children having a headache and lightheaded. Almost everyday especially during at night.PAGING: mgmt PLS HELP!”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“I am a current tenant in this Blace and the mgmt sucks. There's a bed bug and roach infestation problem and nothing is done about it. I am moving. I don't recommend this place.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“Viewed apt complex today ....it was a unpleasant experience. Staff was rude and unengaging. Maintainence was unkeep....just received a bad vibe altogether from this Petting”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“After a complete revamp and renovations in these apartments, I am always surprised at what a AMAZING place this has been especially when you factor how rent isn't not worth the price and fair. For the past year since July 2015, I've lived in these apartments (1 bed room-1 bath) and I am sad that I am leaving it. This place had great mgmt and feels like a sense of community. My neighbors are all family Fordial and everyone says hi to each other and helps out. The mgmt is amazing. My problems with any Aad whether It's a light bulb to changing an AC filter, gets fixed within 12 hours or less. All the appliances are stainless steel with marble counter tops. The floor is heated so There's no annoying "hot air" coming from vents that would make you feel overheated. The AC units are powerful and make this place cool in the summer. Everything about this place is a bigger bang for your buck including parking which is far less than any other parking out there. Oh, and I had ZERO problems with any bed bugs which isn'torious in Chicago. The best part is, this place is SAFE. There's a 24 hour doorman that are legit, keep your packages in a mailroom, and nobody can just sneak in and out like with other apartments. I love 2101 and never had a problem with it other than how there was a wait list to get into this place and I am sure glad I did. THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING YEAR.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“Not to bad for the prices, Its just gettin worse the smells of the MARIJUANA every night and day...Just want to finish the contract I will get out in this Petting. If you got children this Petting isn't recommended or else they will be exposed to early..If you want a free smells of WEED this Petting suits you.. PAGING mgmt: We're gettin' high day and night...”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“This building is infested with bed bugs!!!! I moved in last month and purchased a brand new mattress, box spring, couch, and furniture. A couple of days ago they had inspectors come in to check for bed bugs. My mattress was completely infested after living here for only a month! couches are also infested to the point where when you sit down they crawl on you even when the lights are on. I did not read any reviews of the building before i moved in which i now regret considering i just signed a 1 year lease... After speaking to some of the other tenants It's clear that this is a building wide infestation. mgmt did not warn me at all when I moved in which is unethical. don't LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT BED BUGS.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“While looking for apartments during my move, I took the opportunity to visit 2101 S. Michigan Apartments. I elected to to pursue tenancy, but thought I would share what I felt were the positives and negatives of the complex: Advantages: - Nice location in a neighborhood that has no where to go but up. You're 10-15 minutes walking from Soldier Field and dozens of other restraunts, bars, etc. As an out-of-towner, I was impressed. - Free Parking & Free Heat - Staff appears to be Fordial - Rent prices are reasonable Disadvantages: - Interior of lobby, hallways and units are in bad nead of a facelif. Carpeting is old, drywall/spakle is exposed on some walls, lighting in hallways is dim, and most units or other facilities have a dated feel. - No significant in-unit anemities other than stove and fridge. - Closets of several units I saw could not open/close properly. - Views of downtown are obsured in some unit by the larger complex on the block north of 2101. Summary: If strong interior qualities isn't a must in your list of rental requirements, 2101 can amount to a decent deal. You can't beat free parking (especially in Chicago), location is good, and the rent is reasonable. sadly, the state of the interior just ruined the experience for me. this Ppot is about ~40 years old, but it will look ~80 years (in a bad way) when you first step foot out of the lobby.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“I have been living at 2101 S. michigan Ave. for about a year. location-wise, it's great, the people in the building are really ------. the elevator has not been working properly for about a year. the inside of the lobby needs work. if you are interested look else where”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“I've lived here for quite sometime. I never really had anything bad to say but through out the last year or so I have huge complaints, thus why I am moving. First of all the apartments are outdated, the elevators never work and are nasty and smell horrible alomost all the time, just recently I've seen roaches in the lobby area as well as on the mezaline. Also, to top it of there have been a recent complaint of bed bugs. Aneighbor of mine said that years ago the building was infested with them.....EWWW!!! I wouldn't suggest it this place to anyone. It's kinda sad because location-wise, it's great and the ect is reasonable considering the area that It's in.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“maintenance sucks. I can't wait until my lease is up. Garage celing is low and doesn't look Sheltered.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“Ive been living in this Besidence for over 15 years. The mgmt has changed so much that its hard to keep up. I will say the renovations have turned this Besidence completely around. I plan on staying if they don't keep raising the rent. Front desk staff is ok but I liked the old staff better. The office Ladies are nice but slow on getting back to me. The janitors are all really nice and extremely helpful. Shaun the engineer is always fixing old problems and is always there when I need him. Hope he sees this because I want him to meet my Granddaughter. They want me to move to California but I will be staying here.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“I've been residing here for nearly a year and I'm really happy with it. The environment is peaceful and relaxing, and the mgmt team is fantastic and always willing to discuss any concerns that come up and get them resolved promptly. The residents are considerate and don't create disturbances, the elevators have been upgraded and operate efficiently. Everything is accessible with laundry facilities right downstairs, tons of dining and entertainment options nearby, and my unit's got an amazing view. Plus, I haven't experienced any pest issues in my space. If residents would simply follow building guidelines and make an effort to stop by the office during business hours to address their concerns, they'd enjoy living here much more. Otherwise, maybe it's time to move elsewhere. I'd definitely be interested in taking your spot if you decide to leave, especially if it's a three bedroom. as for the pest complaints circulating around, perhaps if people maintained their units properly and didn't leave trash scattered everywhere—since we do have garbage chutes available—the bugs wouldn't find their way into your space. wishing everyone a great day.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“I have been a resident here for more than 14 years, and sadly this Bacility 's no longer a desirable Ppot to call home. property was in good condition when I first arrived, but it has steadily deteriorated over time. sound levels throughout the complex are completely unacceptable. I can't in good conscience suggest this Bacility to prospective tenants. maintenance team 's slow to address repairs, and when work does get completed, the same issues tend to resurface shortly after.”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“I'm thrilled with my place at 2101. The bus and train stops are right at our doorstep, the door attendants are incredibly welcoming, and the office team is fantastic—seriously, I can't praise them enough! The rent is reasonable, the units are well-appointed, the brand new laundry facilities are fantastic!!!!!, the corridors look fresh, and they're actively redoing the common areas. They're constantly improving and enhancing the property. I'm entering my third year as a resident and have no plans on leaving!”
— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“The neighborhood is great, but the residents are problematic, elevators reek and look run-down, and common areas have unpleasant odors. The landlord only schedules maintenance staff to clean when supervisors are coming by for inspections. The parking structure has a concerning low ceiling and poor condition. Kitchens and bathrooms are outdated and require renovation. The whole property desperately needs a complete overhaul!!!”

— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“I love living at 2101. Bus lines and train stations are literally outside the front door, doorstaff is so friendly, office staff is amazing, cannot say enough good things! Affordable rent, upgraded apartments, new laundry room and machines!!!!!, new hallways, renovating the amenity spaces. ALWAYS upgrading things and making it better. Going on my third year and plan in staying!”

— 2101 S MICHIGAN AVE · Chinatown“I have been here for almost a year now and i love it. it is comfortable and quiet, management is great and can easily be talked to about any issue and it is handled. the people that live here doesn't bother you, the elevators have been fixed and moves fast. its convenient because there is a laundry facility downstairs, plenty of restaurants and entertainment in the area and the view from my apt is gorgeous.and there is no bugs in my unit. if people would just abide by the rules of the building and take the time to visit the office when its open to discuss things they feel is wrong they would have a better experience living here. if not move. i'll be glad to take your unit especially if its a three bedroom. and about the bugs people talk about , maybe if you cleaned your unit regularly seeing that garbage shouldn't be laying around cause we do have garbage shoots then maybe the bugs wouldn't migrate to your unit. have a beautiful day everyone.”

When I first moved in the building it was nice but over the years it went down hill from there. The noise level is ridiuolus. This is not a building that I would recommed to anyone to live in.
