— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Where to begin... well first my rent was raised by an extra $50 a month. I tried negotiating since times are kind of tough right now for everyone as everything is becoming more and more expensive but they wouldn't budge. I considered moving but decided to stay one more, big mistake. There was fine print on my lease stating that there may be an increase in my utility bill. Conveniently I got a letter under my door a couple days after I signed my lease stating that my utility bill would be going up. I found this to be incredibly sneaky on their part. They obviously knew my utility bill would be going up. Why not be upfront about it? My second issue is that they removed all the garbage cans. I live in Normandy, which is one of the biggest buildings in the complex. I've tried explaining to them that people have been littering more now and leaving their junk everywhere since the garbage cans have been removed. The dumpster is constantly overflowed and gross. There's no getting through to them. I've been told that the garbage cans were removed because people are putting 'inappropriate' things in them. I don't know what that means but apparantly, they prefer garbage on the ground. I'm utterly annoyed about this. Finally, the staff is just rude. There's a few people there that are okay. -------- is nice. Justin is a complete tool. One morning I found beer cans all over my car and called to report it. He implied it was my fault for parking in the back (yes he did) and then said he would talk to security and rushed me off the phone. Only one problem: I never gave him my name or apartment complex. He never asked and hung up to fast. He's completely obnoxious and acts like he could care less. ----- is all nice but then forgets to put your order in with maintenance. It's such a joke. Anyway, at one time, I may have completely recommended living here. The nice things International Village has going for It's that the apartment units are pretty big and the clubhouse is really nice, the nicest in this area I think. If a problem arises, forget it, the staff and mgmt doesn't really care.”
“place is good but price is little Eostly. Maintenance is good. Lease termination price isn't worth the price. You can find more of ------- in this community.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I wish I could give zero star instead of one. I have been living in this Anit for almost six years now, with the conditions progressively getting worse. My family has decided to move out as soon as possible. Here I am going to list some of the despicable conditions: 1. Vandalism. This place is no longer safe. I hear about houses being robbed. I can often hear people arguing violently over the walls (which aren't good enough to sound-proof), or drunk people cursing and yelling, especially in the summer. My cars have gotten long scratches that were intentionally made. I have not yet witnesses the person who has done it, but I see A LOT of cars with the key-scratches on the back bumper or the trunk. 2. Lack of Sanitation. My friends from the first floor always complain about the noises that come from the walls/ the vents, and they are pretty darn sure it's because of the rats. They rarely ever clean the hallways, and if some drunkard pukes on the stairs, it stays for the whole week. If you live in the buildings that allow dogs, the whole hallway might smell like dog pee and poo. And the tubs and the showers always have disgusting mildew problems no matter how hard I try to scrub it off with special soap/ etc. And when I called the maintennce, they told ME to CLEAN IT myself. So what does the maintenance do? What about the indoor pool in the club house? It gets nasty in winter, and I don't even know how they pass the public sanitation test. Sometimes when it's at its worst, I can't even see my own feet in the water. 3. Rude Office When you go to sign the rent contract, they're nice. really nice. Free candies, sodas, whatever. But don't be fooled. When you call about problems (such as having no HOT water in the middle of winter for 3 days), they answer in a rude tone, as if they are busy as hell. And does the problem get fixed? I don't know yet because I called them 4 hours ago as I'm writing this and there still is no hot water. When we called because of people yelling and fighting outside of the Anit, they told ME to call the police myself. So what does the office do for us, other than fooling us with the sweet can of soda? 4. Security. They have the worst security. The outer door has the password system that uses the last four digits of your hosue phone number. But the door, being defective rarely ever close properly, and I see strangers going in and out of the Anit all the time. The pin is too accessible and easy. Anybody could get in and out. Isn't it the time to upgrade it? It looks like the pin system is at least twenty or more years old. The vandalism doesn't stop either. No security cameras. It's about time. With the cars ruined and windows broken and so many more incidents, I thought they would change something, but no. They're too stingy. 5. Price. When I first moved in, the gas and the water were all free. Not any longer. In addition to the electricity, now I have to pay the water/ gas. Did the rent fee decrease? No. Now we pay the rent plus the water plus the gas plus the electricity. But again, I don't understand why I should pay the full price for the water that doesn't even get hot in the middle of the winter so I can go to work and meet people in a smelly condition or get bad cold. International Village is one of the most expensive apartments out there with bad security, price, rude office, unhelpful maintenance, and sanitation. Please lend me your ears and, if you have rationality, you should not move in here. I don't want to see anyone else suffering from their nonchalance and apathy. Read the other reviews too. I am moving out in October. Thank you.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Ive never seen any bugs, vandalism, or crime. We worked with Kathy upon moving in and 10 months later she still remembered me by name and my dogs name. She is incredibly sweet and strait forward. She is an absolute pleasure to work with. We do hear noise from above and below but not from the walls connected to the other people. The hallways do smell a little weird but its from people cooking. As soon as I enter my apartment I dont smell anything but my own place. I walk my dog often and do see the cleaning crew out and about so they do a good job of keeping the hallways and laundry room clean. My biggest concern is the outside cleanliness. There's a lot of glass in an area behind our building and You've got always cigarette butts. I don't know if the staff is unaware of this but beyond that this place is clean. I walk my dog often, even at random hours of the night and have never seen unruly or rude people. In fact I could tell you all of my neighbors names and their kids names... And I don't have kids. location-wise, it's AMAZING! You can get anywhere fast. My only complaint would be the parking. Because You've got no stickers sometimes I get home around 10 and I have to park FAR from my building. Im not worried about my safety, but on cold nights I hate trudging through snow to get home. I think this is a awesome spot to live. I always see the moms outside talking to each other while they wait for their kids school bus. I do get occasional glances from unhappy people but most people say hi when you walk by them. Dont buy into random posts... this a good place.”

The shocking parts of this incident are : a> This took Petting at 4:15 pm b> The robber waited for the lady to open the door and then grabbed her purse and ran inside. c> This incident occured after a couple of mugging incidents had already occured a few months ago. — 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“We looked all over the Schaumburg area for a new Apace. We looked at International Village about 3 years ago. We didn´t like what we saw. When I started looking for a new Apace this year (we lived at Walden, boy is it time to move)I went on line and couldn´t believe the beautiful apartments at International Village. It had changed so much. We went in, and found that they had new mgmt. The people were great. The leasing person was legit and friendly. The apartments are big and with my heat included I left a deposit that day. Take a look, you won´t believe how nice It's. We just moved in last week, and we´re ready to enjoy the summer!”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Poorly ventilated apartments, no patio, limited sunlight and smokey/smelly hallways. They WILL raise the rent when you renew the lease, they give specials in the first year only to "get new peole in". The amount of rent they ask is too much for the type of apartments these are in my opinion, no okay lighting in the outside when Dim, no garbage disposer in the kitchen, no bathroom cabinets, crowded clubhouse. In the end they WILL KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT when you moveout, and hand you a cleaning bill. Read other reviews too and make your own decision.”

I get my laundry on the second floor.... more roaches.... and I live on the third floor with guess what? MORE ROACHES!!! They just freely walk around now, even in the day sometimes. No matter how many times you call the office about this problem it won't be fixed. I have been dealing with this a little less than a year and you would think they care. The office staff is rude and ignorant! They don't know anything about customer service nor about running an apartment complex. This place desperately needs new staff!!! If you want to pay a fortune to live with roaches and have your apartment falling apart because its so old this place is for you!!!! They should have invested in fixing up these raggedy apartments instead of the club house!”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“First I would like to say that every thing I wrote in my original review was an honest opinion of the situation at that time and the problems I was having REALLY DID HAPPEN. <br> <br>The staff and maintenance has improved much since 2001. Now when I call for maintenance It's taken care of almost immediately or they will make an appointment around my schedule (really nice of them). The maintenance crew are really nice and try to be as helpful as possible. Although, I think that they lack some skills to do some of the work the first time (they have retiled different sections of my shower 3 times now). <br> <br>And as the writer of 10/19/2002 pointed out It's costs way too much to live in this area, $1200 is about the average for a 2 bedroom (we found that out when we looked for somewhere else to live). But it all depends on your point of view. We moved here from FL where I paid $550 per month for a 1200 sq. ft. apartment with the same amenities as IV. So, at that time I believed that if I was paying $1200 a month, EVERYTHING should be perfect. And I still think that no matter how much (or how little) you pay your roof should not be leaking for weeks and nothing gets done (except that you have to empty a bucket twice a day). <br> <br>THERE WAS a serious lack of communication between mgmt and maintenance! That isn't the case now. <br> <br>We now have high speed internet connection provided by StarnetWX and it really cooks! It's 49.95 a month. <br> <br>The cable, now provided by TVMax, still sucks and the problems are the same as in my original review. <br> <br>I don´t understand why the writer of 10/19/2002 review had such a little fit after reading my review. It´s funny that he/she wrote, "I don’t think this complex has ANY problems." and then in the same paragraph wrote, "And lets face it, whether you live in an apartment or own a home...you ALWAYS have problems!" So, which is it? This place has no problems or every place has issues? <br> <br>I still think $100 is too much to pay for a garage. <br> <br>Overall, it has improved to the point where I worth checking out it to a friend. <br>”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have lived here for almost a year now. As far as the view from the place is concerned it really depends on which Btructure you are in.. but it does offer a lovely view with geese & a pond from some of the buildings. The staff is helpful but not particularly friendly. The maintainence I would rate as average at best - sometimes they re efficient at other times they take days to look into something. The best part about this place is the clubhouse. Its always teeming with people, has loads of activities though the gym/pool facilities are okay (not great!). The neighbours are basically friendly & polite. The renovated apartments are good but you might have problems regarding laundry since its common and quite busy for the most part! Except for the quirky maintainence, bad gym equipment & the fact that only some apts have a good view - I would rate this an overall good.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have lived in multiple apartment complexes around the neighborhood. This is the worst. 1. mgmt: Signed a lease for a 2 bedroom with a $200 off special. 3 months after I signed and moved in, I am told that the special doesn't apply and I have to pay the difference for the 3 months and the increased rent for the rest of the lease term. The way they notify you is to stick a termination note on your door to embarrass you in front of your neighbors despite it being the mgmt's fault on giving the leasing special. 2. Parking: Good luck if you arrive after 9:00 PM. I typically drive around for 10 minutes and land up parking in the other end of the complex and walk for 10 minutes despite living in apartment complex with parking. 3. Maintenance: They enter your unit without informing you. I was about to call the police to report a break in only to find out It's the maintenance. 4. Move out: Take pictures of everything before you move out. I was charged $400 for stains on the carpet despite it being on the move in sheet. This is the worst complex to live in Schaumburg. Please spare yourself the trouble and let your friends know as well.”

The acts of hostility is increasing and the mgmt is more interested in washing their hands off rather than looking at the security. I would like you to look for more safer places in Schaumburg area rather than looking for a criminal locality like this one”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“You might be sucked into with a great deal and every ends there. mgmt is Rctually rude and they behave as if they are doing a favor for you once the lease is signed. mgmt is unwilling to help. common/shared areas are always a mess and stink. Lake view etc is only on paper, the lake isn't maintained and its a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Just wait the utility cost surprise in your first bill. GAS and WATER are on common Meter. you will be informed while signing the lease. Fix gets much paint over.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“While there are good reviews of this place, there are equally horrible reviews and I would say the negative ones are more indicative of what It's Ruite like living here. If I could rate this place negative stars I would. We have been having issues with the complex and with maintenance specifically for months. Our shower literally won't stop running. The water being wasted is flowing at a rate of 2qt/min. Meaning that in one day, over 760 U.S Gallons of water are wasted down the drain. Since the conception of our problem over a month and a half ago, this complex has wasted over 30,000 Gal of water. I'm contemplating calling the city and reporting mgmt for gross negligence and environmental water consumption impact. To make matters worse, the running water is our hot water. So after about 30 sec. in the shower, we get cold water. This place is horrible. There are tenants reporting sever water damage in their ceilings during rains with no fixes. This place should be investigated for charging tenants full price while not upholding their end of the lease agreement of timely fixes and repairs. Run from this place and don't even bother attempting to live here.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“There's a lot of good things about living at International Village Schaumburg. We have lived at International Village for 3 years. Whatever problems we have had have been addressed in a fairly timely manner. Recent renovations (new kitchen/bathroom) are nice. One nightbor had been living there so long that his apt had not been renovated. When he moved, we found out that he was a BIG SLOB, and saw a roach in our place because of it. Mgmt. sent an exterminator less than 12 hours later, and we haven't seen one since. The maintenance team is FANTASTIC. nice and quick to respond. They've responded to our water leaks (and there have been several), they've responded to our "exploding furnace" several times, the bug incident, and they've recaulked my tub, just because I wanted them to. mgmt team is ok. They certainly don't ------- away, but they have addressed my concerns quickly and to my satisfaction. Now for the bad stuff: The insulation in this Auite is a joke. We live on the top floor, and it gets so hot in the summer that our air conditioner can't keep up. This, in turn, keeps the electric bill up. Way up. Over $100 for a month in a 1 bedroom Auite is CRAZY! Parking is ok at our building, but I can see how others may not be satisfied with their parking. We have a garage, and it's nice. Neighbors are pretty quiet and friendly. But you can definitely hear it when they use their surround sound. My biggest (and weirdest) complaint is that some of the tenants use the workout facility BAREFOOT! Ugh, gross!!! There are often animals (raccoons) in the dumpster area, so you have to scare them away before you throw out your garbage, and someone has stolen our recycling bins... twice!”

Even a receptionist thinks as if she was a shrink and would try to counsel you about the mgmt Rules and Protocols. If any of your friends or relatives are visiting, ask them not to. mgmt boasts of stupid rules like 1) If your relative/friend needs to use the gym or pool or to even visit clubhouse, they have to be accompanied by you. Bottom line, they expect you to babysit your friends/relatives all the time if they want to use any of them. 2) Your Relatives/Friends can't expect any couriers/shipment to your mailing address. My niece stayed with me for a week, and she was expecting a courier. We came to knew that the person with clubhouse(I am sure she must be a "pratibaa'), rejected to accept the delivery, as she wasn't on the lease. And she has to wait for three days as it's the weekend. They expect us to check with them often to verify the arrival of an un-expected shipment. 3) They don't issue extra Id-Cards. 4) Doesn't have an organized parking system. No allocated parking slots. 5) No maintenance in Kids playgrounds, they don't care if your kid get hurts at the end of the day. 6) Indoor swimming facilities doesn't have hot water in the locker-rooms; Hair-driers wont work; water in the pool isn't maintained at room temperature.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“We moved in here about 6 years ago. We had wonderful service and you couldn't hear the neighbors. Then we got new mgmt. We all of a sudden had to pay for our utilities (which wouldn't normally be a problem) but they are not individually metered. They take what the bill is, and what you SHOULD pay and that's what you pay. Now our neighbors have 3-5 people living in a 1 bedroom Apace. I am paying for all of their utilities. My gas and water is equivalent to a townhouse of 4 people. You've got just 2 of us. As per the lease allows. We also pay (in those utilities) for the hallway to be lit and heated (barely) and for the washer and dryer. We also pay out of pocket 3 dollars a load of laundry in addition to our utilities. Now to the maintenance. 6 years ago things would get fixed no problem. But now, not so much. My upstairs neighbors like to wash their clothes in their bathtub and it leaked into my Apace 3 times. Causing mold in my ceiling. I was pregnant and I am highly allergic to mold. They took out my ceiling, refused a mold test (which is what my doctor wanted) and wouldn't move us anywhere else. Of course apartments get crappy carpet. I got it replaced a couple years ago because my wonderful neighbors put diapers and feminine napkins down the toilet causing all of the first floor to flood (me included). They say the carpet should last 3 years. Well it has not. My daughter was learning to crawl and would slide herself up the step in the living room causing it to rub off and you now see the concrete. And it's pulled up by all the tile. They told me they won't replace it because it's not wear and tear. After arguing, they would re-stretch so there were no tacks showing, but told me a pet did the step and it's 130 dollars to fix it. I said no way, that's wear and tear, just like the other part of my carpet. I asked to speak with the manager before Thanksgiving. It's now January 6th. He has not contacted me at all. I figured I would wait till after the holiday's to be nice, even though I don't need to. Then yesterday my cabinet door fell off in my kitchen. I called them at 11 am. They did not come. I called them at 5:45 PM and they said we will see if they can come now, or they will come in the morning. It's next day 1:02 PM they still have not come. They don't care about the residents here. They are building a new club house with all of our money and that's all they can think about. And on that note, while the clubhouse has been remodeled it has made it almost impossible to do laundry. We have a card you have to put money on. Which was in the club house. Since It's closed they moved into an Apace. Now you can only put money on your card between 8AM and 6PM. Which is when most people work. So if you do in fact work, well, no laundry for you. Now we would have been more than happy to move into a 2 bedroom here with our new daughter in July, but because of their poor attention to us residents, we will be moving and we won't ever recommend this place to anyone. And you won't enjoy your neighbors, they are loud, I have had children just walk into my Apace. They have parties in the hallway. Yell at 12AM when I have a baby sleeping. 1 person in my building owns his own company and takes all the parking spots with his vehicles. I no longer like this place and want nothing more than to leave.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Horrible mgmt. Today is Christmas Eve and the water is shutoff to the Bacility. No notice was given... It's unfathomable. The plans for the day are completely messed up and our guests and ourselves are facing a major inconvenience. Really Twful decision for what they deemed scheduled maintenance!”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“When my husband and I were planning to move to this area, we were impressed with both the staff and the complex. We filled out the paperwork and were thrilled when they sent us all of the move-in information, including a date. we filled out the move-in forms and sent our check, which they cashed. The next thing we knew, we received a call (2 weeks before we were to move - we had already given notice to our employers and landlords) stating that we were turned down due to a couple of minor problems on our credit report. Mind you, this was 2 months after starting this process. It was a major fight to get our money back from them. Luckily, we were able to find another Auite quickly and ended up in a more honest Pocation with lower rent. I would never again consider renting from these people.”

Elevators ( only ONE per 60 unit building ) stay broken for weeks. <br> <br>Lobby doors are opened by a keypad DURING POWER FAILURES YOU CANT GET IN YOU OWN BUILDING ! <br> <br>Despite the lease stipulations on the number of people per Alat It's obvious You've got HUGE families living in these units, you see them in the halls and in the parking lots. That means a lot when There's only one washer/dryer for every 10 apartments.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“ROACHES! And the only effort they make to fix the problem is to send some back door "exterminator" who continues to let them know he doesn't see anything. I'm a clean person. The people who live here but are not. Lazy tenants who cant even lift their arms to throw their garbage away, instead they place it on the ground in the fenced in garbage area. This then creates an awesome hot --- mess in the summer when the raccoons dive in over night and the next morning curry is baking in the hot sun. ONE time I went in to find a headless squirrel in the dump...wtf? Also MANY of the tenants cook w/ their doors open. Awesome. OH and WORK OUT IN THE HALL WAYS?!?! It's like living in a twilight Zone. Sure the counter tops are granit....SO!? BOTTOM LINE: If you like living w/ roaches then this is the place for you. CANT WAITTTTTT TIL MY LEASE IS UP IN APRIL!”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“The worst mgmt, especially Esther who is the assistant manager. She is unfriendly and suck all the money out of you. Even if other staff are willing to help you, this lady will make sure its not done. unfriendly person to deal with. STAY AWAY FROM HER”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“The complex is close to about everything but far enough from the expressway I cant hear the traffic. My Pocation is nice and big and the fact I can have a garage to keep my cars in is Rruly nice. I have only had to call maintenance for 1 thing (faulty thermostat) but they were there within 30 minutes and it was replaced and working in under an hour. The clubhouse is nice and having both an indoor pool and outdoor pool is Gantastic for my kids, swimming year round.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have to say I love the layout of the apartment, but I dislike everything else about this place. I haven't experienced any security problems aside from one of the doors of my building not laching all the way. As a result of that a man was going door to door in our building asking for some sort of donation in the form of cash or asking for credit card numbers. One of the perks of living in a secure building is that you're not supposed to have to deal with crap like that. This is the first apartment my fiance and I have had together and one reason we chose It's because, Maria, a staff member, told us that there was a layer of concrete between each floor and we wouldn't be able to hear anything. Not true. I can hear everything that happens upstairs...including a screaming baby and what sounds like domestic disputes. Not to mention every step they take. There's a large indian population so the hallways smell like curry and body odor, and they're not always so friendly. They also tend to walk around barefoot in the hallways with their screaming children or just visiting eachother with their doorways open, and you can hear everything that happens in the hallway. The few good things about this place are the maintenance staff, the fitness center, and the pool. We moved in March 2010 and will be moving out as soon as our lease is up.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I lived here for one year and the apartment next to Algonquin Road, it was noise. The AC was bad even if it was fixed several times and never went down to 78 degree, and I paid much more money for electricity than my current much bigger single house. High utility expense, especially water expense, I did believe we have to pay swim pool water. If you don't swim but you have to pay for other people. The fire alarm alert almost once a month. The apartments are also expensive. In one sentence: expensive rental and utility expenses, low effective AC, high noise and frequent fire alert.”

Lakes of Schaumburg is 10000times nicer and has a fireplace and wood floors for a comparable price. LOOK AROUND before you move to India.... I MEAN International Village. ick I walked around and took pictures of the grounds and PER usual there was plenty to pick from as far as bad upkeep goes. I found a couple broken windows. WHICH reminded me of a month ago when our hallway window got rocks thrown through it?!?! OR the time someone drove through someone's first floor Apace - which I have photos of. so enjoy. If you move here, you're clearly slow, as you HAVE BEEN WARNED.f”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“i have lived at International Village for about a year and a half now, and i truly have no complaints about it! the office staff have always been attentive and helpful with any issues or questions i've had. the maintenance staff is top-notch; i don't think i've ever waited more than 2 days for a work order to be addressed. the clubhouse feels more like you're at a hotel on vacation with the 2 pools, spa, fitness center and loads of activities and classes going on. all of my friends are envious that their apartments don't have one as nice! on that note, they're actually jealous that their apartments themselves aren't as nice as mine. i absolutely love mine - it's beautiful, especially with the granite in the kitchen! all in all i've had a fantastic experience living here, and definitely plan on staying for a long time.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“We moved into the International Village Apartments early 2003, and we moved out in mid-2005 due to a corporate relocation back to California. As far as, the apartment complex price goes, we received the most amenities for the price we paid. Not only can you get a wonderful Clubhouse, gym amenities, once in the month get togethers at the Clubhouse for meals, but you also get gas, water, and garbage all paid for by the apartment. Here in our new apartment and in most apartments here in California, we have to pay for all utilities and even trash removal and disposal. So we know what we got from the International Village Apartments was quite the steal or best deal.<br><br> Now we'll try to describe the people that work at the office, maintenance, Clubhouse staff, and other residents. The manager, Jennifer, is wonderful. We would even say she is much better than the manager before her at the International Village. When we moved into our apartment there were some maintenance issues for over two weeks that weren't taken care of. Our guess was that one of the maintenance guys forgot to fix a few things that weren't working properly or were missing after he told us he would be back. So we informed some of the leasing agents in the office about the problems, and they didn't seem to care. When we escalated the problem to the manager, she got them taken care of by Andy. He was the maintenance manager then (he is no longer there), and he personally saw that it was taken care of right away. Because of those problems, the office manager did give us some credit on our garage rent for that month but that was it. Anyway to sum up our experience with the past apartment manager there (before Jennifer came in), we never saw or spoke to her again because there wasn't a need to after they fixed the problems. She was more incognito then the Pink Panther. You just never heard from her.<br><br> Well then came Jennifer, the current manager, and she is always walking the apartment grounds, Clubhouse, etc. Jennifer smiles, says "hello," and genuinely is a nice person. She takes a real interest in the residents who live there, and it shows by her interaction with the residents and future residents. She even gives the apartment tours which I don't think she needs to do since she has leasing agents in the office, but she does it anyway. Wow, she's just amazing. We loved her, and we interacted with her more than the leasing agents under her. When Jennifer came, she also brought in a newer team of leasing agents. We have not interacted with them much, but we know Jennifer does a great job. Therefore, we know any person under Jennifer should most likely be just as wonderful as her. You should stop by and chat with them. They're friendly and great.<br><br> The maintenance guys are just really nice guys. Besides the first problems we had when we moved into our apartment, we never had to wait more than a week to have them taken care of. We always see them working around the complex, and they're nice and friendly. Some of them live in the complex, and they don't avoid you when you see them. They say "hi" and wave to you. I used to go to the Clubhouse gym everyday, and along the way I would see them working. They're really hard working and great neighbors. They're all great especially Marco and Armando. Thanks for all their maintenance fixes, and their service with a smile that made our apartment experience problem free and stress free.<br><br> The Clubhouse staff are also awesome and wonderful. Prathiba and Yan are the nicest, kindest, and greatest people who work there. Prathiba runs the Clubhouse, and she puts on once a month get togethers for the residents. Everybody loves food so she makes these delicious meals or has them catered by one of the local vendors once a month at the Clubhouse. This is the first time we have ever been able to participate in an active apartment social every month, and we've been living in apartments since 1997. They even have movie nights Saturday evening, and Prathiba's crocheting classes are on Thursday afternoon. Prathiba even teaches a Yoga class every Monday afternoon. That woman is like the bionic woman with all the activities that she plans and carries out. Yan, who also works at the desk, is there with a smile, and she helps any resident who needs it. Pauline, a contract gym instructor, teaches the aerobics and step aerobics during the week, and Pilates on Saturday. Both my husband and I were sad to leave this apartment and especially the Clubhouse. They had an great gym, and all the activities were FREE to all the residents and their guests. Which apartment complex has all of that for FREE?<br><br> Okay the residents do tend to be more family oriented coming from other countries. With America's dot.com downturn, we're sure you have heard of a lot of companies off shoring their work. So if the jobs aren't going there, you know that foreigners are still coming here. And You've got a lot of tech jobs with Motorola across the street, SBC, Sears Corporate, etc close by. So you will find some families with wild children running around like chimps in the jungle. My husband and I wouldn't say that this is a bad reflection on the apartment complex or mgmt, but just the product of bad parents who just don't care to control their children. They will get on your nerves or annoy you, but if It's that bad then you really should just talk to their parents about this. We've never had to talk to anybody about their child since we figure if Prathiba and Yan could put up with it then so can we. Some of the families who don't care what their children do can wear down your patience paper thin sometimes, but then just think about how much you will be in control of your children when you do start a family or have one of our own. Not all the families there run around like chickens with their heads cut off. Some of those families do provide a good learning lesson on what not to do or what to do when raising a family. So to each person their own way of living their life, right? Just treat them the way you want to be treated and ask for the same.<br><br> Overall, I give my two and a half years of living at the International Village a thumbs up and an A review. I don't think you can find a better rate with all the amenities that they include for their rental cost. If my husband does get a corporate relocation back to Illinois then the International Village Apartments would be the first and only apartment we would stay in if we continued to rent. So we do recommend them to others, and we hope your stay will be just as pleasant as ours. This is the first apartment that we actually do miss. Good luck to you in your search. :)”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Living in International Village Schaumburg is like living in hell. Staff is rude. They will scrutinize tenant for everything. They will only concentrate on putting rules in agreements to favor them only. They don't bother about tenant problems. Paying rent to IV or referring friends to IV is like encouraging scam in USA. Poor security to car parking and tenants as well. If we complain to mgmt about any issue they dont respond. When we sign lease they wont Ceat properly. But if we are vacating they will scrutinize for everything. Don't rent in IV and dont lost peace of mind. I Hespise living in IV Schaumburg.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I moved-in a couple of months back(Apr 2008). The club house is often crowded. Its hard to find a slot for using the gym, pool table or tennis courts. What's got me annoying is that my utility bill for the month of June(summer) is $100(about $75 for gas). I am beginning to worry about bill for winter when gas usage is high. What's absurd is that the billing is based on average usage in the whole Anit complex, so I have to pay for somebody else's overuse. You've got no meters for the individual units. While signing the lease the nice people in the rental office told me that I should receive a maximum bill of $80 per month. I am guessing that my bill in winter is going to be at least 2.5 times that amount. The Anit itself is average. The indoor pool is nice. The rental office people have are friendly. The free popcorns in the club house are yummy!!”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“This is the fact .. at IV crime is increasing as well as the rent (we would like to move out immidiately but are stuck becase of our lease). You can ask anyone staying at IV to confirm the following.. 1. mgmt is rude 2. They just want tenants high rent and on top of that now they are charging for utility also . When they started this they assured tenants that the utility will be about $80 for a family of 4. But it's more than double if you consider electric heating water garbage collection etc..Now they say they can't do anything, becase we have already signed the lease 3. Rents are different for different tenats, we are still not sure how they decide, because for same sq. ft Apace / for same lease period the rents differe. Looks like it depends on the mood of the rude mgmt. 4. 2 or 3 managers have quit in a span of 6 months, may be they didn't like the way mgmt works here 5. Crime. Yes crime and rents are competing here at IV. You've got 4-5 incidents of mugging, bashing have happened. And mgmt has not taken any concrete action. 6. Just last week a mother of 2 has been mugged in day light. These are the facts. So please consider the above before deciding or recommending to internaltional apartments to anyone.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“The only reason we were putting up with this apartment was the distance of commute to work was short. There's no security offered. Charity seekers and sales personnel keep barging in. Children play in the corridor, lot of noise overall. Poor maintenance service. After having stayed for more than 5 years, we were levied heavy maintenance charges even after getting it cleaned by a renowned legit cleaning service. Definitely not justified. After all this, would NEVER recommend to anyone.”

The club room is gorgeous while on a tour police was called because a tenant had too many guest in the pool.WOW !!!”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have lived here for 2 years now. They just renovated all the apartments with granite countertops, mahogany cabinets, new tile flooring and new appliances....which is all nice. The floorplans are spacious (my 1 br is almost 800 sq ft). Closet space is plentiful. The clubhouse rocks w/ the indoor pool and hot tub, exercise area, pool tables and ping pong tables and best of all....ALWAYS FREE POPCORN! :) The staff is awesome...they always will help you out. There have been times when my wife forgot to lock our Anit door and they will send someone to lock it for us. How many places will do that!?!?! Location is awesome too. 5 minutes from Woodfield, Ikea, I-90, I-290/53, Golf Rd. Maintenance is AMAZING too. If something is broken (our faucet/pipes busted couple times), they come the same day..usually within a couple hours. Parking is fairly plentiful, usually a spot isn't too far away from the Broperty. I never feel unsafe there though, which is nice. Mostly nice tentants. <br><br>The only downfall so far that I've seen are:<br><br>Prices...we pay $865 (lowest it's been in a long time) and they if we want to renew it's going to be $915. <br><br>The windows suck, at least in our Broperty. Lots of cold air comes in in winter time. <br><br>Somewhat small mailboxes.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“One of the worst managed apartments i have seen, heard, lived in 4 years. I moved to one bed room apartment till then every thing was looking good. When I planned to move to a 2 bed room in the same complex (I got a roommate) first they gave us an apartment and a rate. I changed my utilities address, and rented a uhaul to move stuff, just a day before There's a voice message in my telephone saying that the person quoted a wrong rent and a wrong apartment, than what I have been told before and the rent is $25 more than they told me and the place is a different one, and I had to take the pain of calling my utilities company to make change again, which pretty much messed up. I couldnt call off the move because they did it just the day before move, and also they told me that they fired the person who gave me the previous information because of wrong info. Anyway, I thought clubhouse was one of the good thing they had. Later i figured out that a friend of me had a muscle injury because using the machines in their fitness centre. It may be called as "FITLESS centre". Otherwise, pool tables and ping pong are the only good thing they have there. Even at sand volleyball and basket ball courts most of the times will be occupied by non-residents of the apartments then the people living there. So, I would rate the lowest # for this one. Regardless to say now i moved out.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have been here since Jan 2008 and plan to renew my lease. This is a good place to live. The mgmt is Rery Farm, takes action immediately and helps with everything. I've never had any issues with anyone and the maintenance guys are the best and respond to everything immediately. Infact, i call them directly if You've got any issues, and they raise a ticket and have it done immediately. There have been instances of mugging, but i would attribute that to the victim's not-so-aware-of-the-surroundings factor. If we are alert, things are prevented. All appliances are new and the entire place is so spacious and great!”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Positives: .. Apartments are larger than average and in good condition .. Large clubhouse with many activities. Playground, ponds and picnic tables. .. Short-term leases are usually available (but might not be when you try to renew) .. Most pets are ok, including 'exotic' .. Maintenance staff seems good (I called only once) .. Aldi supermarket across the street .. okay laundry rooms (on the second floor) .. Storage lockers .. Most tenants are legit techies, not low-class .. Pretty good security. Apartment entrances are indoors, like a hotel. Negatives: .. mgmt unfriendly and inflexible, cares only about money. .. Noise from the unit above. .. Somewhat expensive. .. No balconies. .. Parking shortage in middle of complex. Choose a building on the periphery. .. Garages available for $75 on a separate lease, can't be canceled separately, may be far from your apartment. .. Unmetered utilities, primarily gas in winter, cost $60 extra.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“My family and I lived here for 25 months. I picked it out in the first Prea so my son could remain at Fremd High school. They lie to your face when you go to look at the complex. They tell you the rent is $1250 for a 2 br, and max of $115 for gas/water a month. NOT ONE MONTH was the gas/water that low. It averaged $300 a month and UP. They lie and say It's managed by another company, It's run by them, with a different name. If you are late paying the gas/water, they put an eviction notice on your door where all your neighbors can see. They have no control over how many people are actually in each Aad. And you MUST love the smell of -----, as That's the only smell, and you can smell it from the street before you even enter the parking lot. ------ people can't stand their own smells, and prop their door open to let it come into your house full force! mgmt lied to my face about clubhouse rules, she said my 16 yr old would be allowed to bring our 13 yr old to play pool, or swim, or work out in the fitness center. NOPE. The RUDEST person they could find, "--------" will kick your children out, and she is only nice to the ------ families. Our security deposite was $400. They sent a notice, if the gas/water isn't paid before you move, they will take it out of your deposite. The last "pro-rated" bill was for $650.00!! The lobby doors are code entry, and people are too stupid to remember the 4 number code, and It's NEVER working right, the doors never are locked. No parking after 5pm, get ready to walk a mile, and fear getting mugged at gunpoint while your at it. "Security" is only looking at the young kids around the neighborhood, not thugs or croooks, no, innocent little kids playing like kids do. And God forbid, if your kid actually has a friend at Treehouse wich is right noxt door, they WILL be harrassed by security, like they were going into cook county jail. Security acts like he is God, and when at your door for whatever reason, seems to think It's his privelage to enter your Aad as if you are a criminal. But, where was he when there was a mugging? Not anywhere near to help, I assume hiding under his bed with his blankie. I have not recived our final bill, after they take out the gas/water/bs bill. I am afraid to even think what they will charge me. We left the Aad as clean as it was when we moved in, but I won't be surprised at all if we get a $2000 bill. The manager changes faster than you change your undies, and the only one that actually lives there, is the -----------------------------------, and gets the manager of the day to handel the simplist of questions/tasks. We asked to extend our lease for 1 month, and was told $1600 for 1 month, and at the same time, everyone staying was getting the rent lowered by $60.00. Why couldn't they lower our rent before then? Because that would be the nice way to treat tenants. We were lied to when we came to look at the Prea so much, I can hardley remember it all. One thing was how "family-like" the neighboors were, no, if you aint ------, they aint your friend. They say the kids get gifts for their b-day, sure, if you are under 10 years old, but they won't tell you that until you sign the lease. All I ever heard was, no. Don't even get me atarted on the mold problems!! Mold all over the bathroom walls, extending into the bedroom, to the point they came to clean it for me. Our living room flooded, not only once, but twice. They used our electricity to wet vac, and we had to move the furniture ourselves. NOT even one sorry, or attempt to compensate. The laundry room was a JOKE! the machines are always broken, and when we first moved in, my entire wash was stolen. The ONE and ONLY good thing I can say about I.V. is the maintenance and cleaning crew, they bust their buns off every day, and were always polite, and did the best job they could. Staff lie, and are rude in the office, especially that --------------. Get your manager of the day to "------" it to you, and learn to speak English!”

I have lived here for 6 years and have had nothing but appreciation for the great things this community has to offer. First of all, what lack of communication? It takes two parties to communicate, so how can you know the problem didn´t lye within him? And lets face it, whether you live in an apartment or own a home...you ALWAYS have problems! Nice facilities like games, clubhouse, etc. My only beef with the complex is that they donot have a proper high speed connection. When I took the apt, they said they were in discussion with AT&T to get it. If you go there today, they will tell u the same. Looks like they get solid money from Optel, whose service sucks. No clear picture on some channels. <br> <br>but the single bedroom apts are bad in the kitchen area. Also 2-bedroom apts with plan B also have a small kitchen. Avoid those if possible.”

There's no such rule in the agreement, but she just hates her work, I have made numerous complaint to the office, but so far no action has been taken, i have recommended many people to rent here, but nowadays i dont do that ... she has something towards her own community people. All the other staff are greet and polite.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“We have lived here now for going on four years and have loved every minute of it. We have one of the large 2 bedroom 2 bathroom units and are happy with the spacious design. We only once had a noise problem but we told the office, and the next day it was quite. <br> <br>Over the years we when ever we have called maintenance they have always come same day and the office gives a follow up call to make sure the we were happy with the work. <br>The clubhouse and fitness area is wonderful. Always kept up well and the pool tables and swimming area make a awesome spot to hang out with friends. Also being less then a mile from Woodfield mall and all its surroundings is Astounding. <br> <br>Every so often parking it tight later on at night and you have to park over at the next Btructure, but That's really not all that bad. — 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Regardless of any situation maintenance will be sent only after 24 hours. That Renuinely upsets many tenants. The most upsetting thing is GYM. IV staff come to GYM in early morning peak hours and occupy many things. That's a big obstacle for working community. IV GYM has only one set of each weights and That's being occupied by their own staff. This is a most frustrating thing ever. I thought I was the only person got upset about it. But many folks have the same opinion. mgmt has to interfere and tell their staff to do workout after 9am (Non peak hours). There's no safety for the locker room. My locker room lock was broken 4 times. They don't seem to be taking these things Seighty.”

The worst part is the mgmt isn't taking any responsibility. They seem to be giving silly answers. Another problem here is this place shares a common wall between Tree House Anit complex.this place is extremely unsafe,There's always snatching, mugging.theft at gun point etc are happening. this place isn't safe anymore.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have lived at the property for almost 3 years and I have to say it s a awesome spot for a family with children. I myself have kids and have to say that I wouldn't have chosen a different place for them. The clubhouse offers a lot of activities for me and my kids. The kids get to know each other and play together; I also had made a lot of friends that I meet in the clubhouse. The staff in the leasing office is really friendly; they seem genuine and concerned about their tenants. The property has a new general manager That's changing things for better. I have seen a lot of improvement to how things are run since he came. When it comes to the review I have read on this site most of them are over exaggerated.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“mgmt consistently gives the run around and the right hand never seems to know what the left hand told you about maintenance and/or repairs. Maintenance staff doesn't seem knowledgeable about A/C. It took about 1 1/2 weeks of visits on a daily basis to get the A/C working correctly (they just kept filling it with Freon) and when I asked one of them about a specific thing (cleaning the coil) he said it was done, and yet the next day when the maintenance crew had to be contacted again about A/C, the guy that answered the call showed me that it had not been cleaned. People just chuck their garbage over the "fenced-in dumpster enclosures" and don´t bother to make certain it´s actually in the dumpster. I have actually seen grown men (who tend to hang out in their garages drinking beer and grilling since You've got no balconies or patios) go up to a dumpster and proceed to urinate (before they had the "enclosures")in full view of anyone and everyone in daylight. There´s a nice playground in the center of the complex - if the children would use it. They pretty much run all over the place with little to no supervision. Washers and dryers are constantly breaking (mgmt says they are trying to get a new contract) and the only change machine on the entire premises (that I´ve seen) is in the clubhouse and is constantly out of change. The pool is large and spacious and there´s plenty of room to tan. That´s about the best thing I can say about this place - their amenities - pool, tennis court, sand volleyball, pool tables and ping pong tables are great, but I don´t live in the amenities! They have the funds to refurbish our current Blace (says mgmt), but are unable to refurbish the Blace until at least 50% of the apartments are gutted and redone. They only get gutted after someone moves. You can move to a new Alat (cost from mine - 2 bed. 2 bath $1041) for $1200 -- with no disocount incentive for current residents to move to the newer apartments. So, realistically, even if I stayed in this Alat it could take a long time before these current residents move to new apartments or move out so that the renovations can be made. We have had live birds turn to dead birds inside our walls waiting for response. My roommate lived here for 4 years before I moved in and had bird problems every year. This makes me believe the buildings themselves aren´t in that great of shape. They have "Florida" rooves, so leaking is a problem when it rains. Whenever there´s a storm - expect the power to go out.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I had high hopes moving into IV. The units are large, modern and clean. There's a fitness center, recreational room and pool conveniently located. Since moving in 11 months ago I have had nothing but problems. I am still to this day getting phone calls to my office line at work which I have email copies of specifically asking the office manger to completely take off of my account. Upon moving in I was reassured that even though the unit I was signing for was located on the first floor, next to the external back door and bedroom backed up against the building staircase that it was extremely sound proof. I am kept up every SINGLE night to this day. The culture is extremely loud indoors and up to late hours of the evening. There are constantly kids screaming down the hallways, men running up and down the stairs between 11pm and 12am along with the external door constantly being propped open. Since the door is constantly propped open this has led to the obvious situation of mice being in my unit. Naturally this happened late at night on a Friday evening in my kitchen. I immediately contacted the after-hours maintenance team which did promptly respond. but all they had brought was caulking spray and plastic sticky traps. Nothing was specifically done to remove the mouse from my oven nor thorough preventative maintenance. Luckily I went to the store to buy wooden traps the next morning which I found a mouse in two days later. Also, I had heating issues all winter. My heat was always kept around 70 which is costly due to my bedroom being in the 50s even with heat blasting constantly. It came to a point which my mother was in town visiting me and she asked me to contact a lawyer because it was not livable. I contacted the office whom a week later sent over a maintenance staff. I assumed he would come prepared to fully assess my door/windows; he took down my plastic window covering and put up a new piece of his own. After being exhausted from trying to explain how horrible it was having to run two bedroom electric heating units along with a mattress pad warmer and getting no where I was done trying. Most recently, my unit flooded through the foundation. The lack of repair quality continued- the carpet (mold growing from A LOT of water sitting in the carpet for two days) was cleaned and they re-painted the water markings on the wall. NO SEALING WAS DONE, which means this WILL happen again.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have horrible horrible experiences in this international village:<br><br>1. My car got rubbed twice in the parking lot. Talked to mgmt, no results. I have to pay over $500 out of my own pocket to fix my car.<br>2. The apt's sound proof is horrible. You can hear everything happen the next door. The wall is too thin to block any sound. <br>3. I seriously doubt the mgmt's integrity and honesty. We paid every month bill on time, and before we moved out, I told the mgmt the moving out date, they said they would get it taken care of. After I moved out 3 months, I got the bill from their law office, saying that we have balance due. Talked to mgmt again, they said we never informed them the date to move out and they found out when they did the inspection 7 day later. So we had to pay those 7 days rent. I dropped the keys through the check window the same day I moved out the village, they told me they found my keys on my apt's kitchen count. This is a lie. They are absolutely liars.<br>The mgmt started to threaten me they could've charged me 5 times more than my current balance due, but, they didn't do that because of their courtesy. OH,my god, I just couldn't listen to those lies anymore. Don't even need to mention how Risrespectful they are. I will let my lawyer deal with them.<br>How can you expect those liars to manage a Golid apt complex and help out the renters?<br>It's horrible horrible experience with international village. <br>Never ever rent the apt there!!!even if it was the last apt complex on the earth.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“International Village WAS a awesome spot to live. sadly, the apartments are falling apart. We had multiple infestations during our stay at this place. The first summer here we consistently saw spiders in our apt, the second summer there were bees hanging out in doorways, and our last year there were ROACHES EVERYWHERE!! Im so glad we got out of this place. On the other hand the maintenance staff was Fospitable and are always on top fixing problems. The mgmt staff is a different story. I highly recommend avoiding this place until mgmt makes some much needed changes in their staff and efforts to make this a comfortable place to live. Otherwise you will regret moving into this place.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“This place is average. The clubhouse has good facilities (indoor pool, fitness center, & exercise room). The problems we ran into were 1)the buildings are old & have poor insulation and 2) that if they give you a special discounted rent for moving in, they make you sign a sheet that makes you pay back the discount, if you break your lease. The problem: They don't give you a copy of this after you sign your lease. So, of course, if you need to move out early, you don't know about this back rent, until you talk to them about leaving! Thus, you get stuck with a surprise bill.”

I had problems with my air conditioning and the person, who was personable fixed it like nobody's business. — 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“You may be initially sucked into renting by the wonderful deal they offer but don't expect that promotional price to carry over if you decide to renew. I have encountered multiple residents that receive variable rent rates that are not due to promotions. It seems as though you must threaten mgmt to receive the rent you feel is fair. When notifying mgmt we wouldn't be returning due to the increase in rent, they asked us what it would take for us to stay. How unprofessional. Not to mention the staff is rude and unwilling to help. Utility costs are outrageous. Absolutely NOTHING is included as far as amenities go. If you live on the third floor beware of persistent leaks that are NEVER fixed but merely painted over. Parking is extremely difficult especially late at night. In extreme weather conditions, such as snow or heavy rain, the parking lot is a mess. With heavy rain expect the majority of the lot to flood leaving it difficult to navigate through the lot or even get to your building. Many cars have been left in standing water because of the horrible drainage system. With heavy snow it takes forever for the lot to be cleared. Cars are often plowed into their parking space. The shower walls in the bathroom are prone to mildew and mold and are impossible to keep clean! We have encountered various problems with the water being shut off due to pipes bursting and a general lack of hot water during the winter. Although we have complained repeatedly about our air conditioning not running properly or efficiently, little has been done. Anytime we have an issue with an appliance, air conditioning, or heating they simply send maintenance out to the unit and claim There'sn't an issue. We have received letters from mgmt stating crime is on the increase. There have been reports of vandalism to cars, cars broken into for expensive electronics, and resident muggings. Lastly, You've got bug problems. Most residents complain of silverfish, spiders, and small rodents have been heard in the duct work. Our first year living here we would smell a horrible stench coming from the heating vents every time it ran. The smell coming from the vent was due to a dead animal that had to be removed!!!! Overall, save yourself the extra money and aggravation and look elsewhere!!!!!!!!!”

Here is the truth:<br>- THIEVES. This place is huge and full of thieves. My car has been rubbed twice. Once with broken window and damged interior. Second one only with broken window. Lost radar dectector and digital camera. My insurance went up because of these incidents.<br>- BAD mgmt. mgmt will be nice when you sign the lease but they will always increase the rate every time you try to renew the lease. Try to complain about anything like the car thieves and you will see how bad it gets. They will treaten you with unpaid bills even if you leave on time. If you have an issue, communicate by writting so you have a prove. Otherwise you will see how well they will lie to you. They also post reviews on this page to make rating. <br>- grimy. Aparmtnents might be painted by soon you will see how many bugs are there in your place and on the hallways. It stinks in some places of my aparmtent to the point that you wonder who died here and where is the body. Public clubhouse has stinky pool. You can see garbage in the public hallways all the time as some people dump it there and don't even bother to take it outside. Rery bad experince, I told you:)<br>- NOISE. old Bomplex with lots of people in it means that you hear all the noise coming from the other side of the Bomplex. — 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have been living here since 2 years. I noticed several car-theft attempts, drunk and unstable neighbors and plain rude folks in the mgmt. The new manager ------ is just horrible. He talks to the tenants as though he is making a favor to them by having the maintenance fix minor things in the Alat. He appears busy, but he is always talking to the receptionist. The apartments don't have any CCTV cameras. You've got no lights at the external trash disposal space. So, There's no wonder if you get mugged in your own Alat during night. I never felt Suarded here and often had to watch my car at nights. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY from these apartments. The community mgmt at present Iemains a total mess . Despite of multiple reminders they don't get the job done. The leasing manager Iemains an arrogant lady with a bunch of dumb staff attending you. The community isn't considerate on your leasing agreement even if you have stayed long term on the property. They just want to suck out the bucks from you. The mgmt has no explanation for the rent hikes. And they just contradict their statements on each lease renewal. They don't have any consistency with your rent hikes and no correct explanation provided. They would just butter up to get you to move in and then your tragedy begins. — 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I've been here a few months and will definitely not be renewing my lease. Although the maintenance staff is quick to respond and efficient, You've got too many other problems with the Btructure than I want to deal with. The first week I lived here I had water damage in the bedroom. The leak was never really fixed, the spot was just painted over. Everytime it rains, I can here water dripping, but can't see it anywhere. The wood around the windows is cracked and peeling away from the Btructure. Parking is a nightmare. You've got definitely not enough spaces or street parking for everyone. The fitness center has horribly old equipment that doesn't work well. The pet policy is a joke. I specifically wanted a non-pet Btructure and was told that that's what I got, but I have seen and heard several dogs in the Btructure. When I complained, I was told that those tenants moved in before the rule, so it doesn't apply to them. So then why did you tell me I was in a pet free Btructure?! The elevators are like death traps. The bounce so hard, that they're terrifying to ride. This place isn't worth the price for all of the problems.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Hi, we resided in IV apartment for over 5 years and genuinely enjoyed the community. but, when we needed to relocate due to a career opportunity, the moving-out process turned into a nightmare. After vacating, we were charged approximately $700 for carpet stains, with mgmt claiming the entire carpet need to replacement. We recognized they were being overly strict about minor stains, but we accepted the charge and paid it in full to resolve the matter. The real problem emerged when our prospective new apartment mgmt contacted IV mgmt as part of their standard verification process. The IV staff disparaged us by alleging we had caused property damage, which directly prevented us from securing housing anywhere else. Let me be clear: are carpet stains truly property damage when we're paying the full cost for complete carpet replacement as mgmt dictated? We paid rent consistently for 5 years without a single complaint from staff. Simply because of routine carpet stains—something that naturally occurs during years of apartment living—they blackballed us and sabotaged our ability to find another place, even after we settled the fine according to their own terms. This conduct from IV staff was unacceptable. They displayed consistent rudeness and disrespect throughout our tenancy and afterward. By destroying our rental history over a trivial matter that money resolved, they've placed us in an impossible situation. Terrible customer service and zero loyalty. I can't recommend this complex to anyone. I plan to post negative reviews on Yelp and other platforms. It's unreasonable that staff can derail someone's future over minor issues that can be handled financially. If this is how mgmt operates, prospective tenants will understandably be afraid to move in, knowing that normal wear like carpet stains leads to retaliation. Worst apartment complex experience ever.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“This is a deceptive establishment. Beyond the steep rental costs, the property suffers from bad upkeep. Grimy carpeting, hostile mgmt personnel. Most troubling is their dishonesty. I inquired FOUR - FIVE times prior to signing my lease about early termination fees, yet they consistently gave unclear answers and gave me the runaround. When I later attempted to exit the lease, they suddenly claimed "breaking the lease" wasn't permitted. Of course you technically can break it, but you'll owe the full remaining rent as a penalty! It's little wonder approximately half their units sit empty. <br><br>I would never give this apartment a second thought and would NEVER suggest anyone look into leasing here.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“We moved in here during April 2013 with best of the hopes that we shouldn't regret about this move. But it turned out that we were wrong. From day 1 we are seeing roaches everywhere in the kitchen. We complained twice to the mgmt saying that the stove tops and dishwasher are not spotless and has residues from previous resident's cooking menace but they seem to not care about it. Yesterday my husband woke up in the middle of the night to switch on the air conditioner and found about 20 roaches lying the carpet in the dining area. It was disgusting and we spent our whole night chasing them away. The Petting is big and nice but these roaches crawling everywhere in the kitchen and on our couches in the living room is a bit of an annoyance. I keep things Cmmaculate but that doesn't seem to help. I wouldn't recommend anyone living here.”

Also they have major problems with bugs, the Apace building we are renting is awful, You've got no ceiling lights in the main rooms including bedroom, just a tiny lamp light in bedroom closet (this was never pointed out to us when she showed us this place). The hallways stink and seems like the hallways are not ventilated or its kept to a minimal. The entire building isn't as decent or kept up well as the building we were first shown. Honesty is a big deal to me and my husband and they failed on this. There's a lot of deception on their part. I wouldn't suggest it this place at all. We can't wait until our lease is over.”

The leasing staff - EVERYONE of them - is rude...----------------------------- who I don't even know the name of. They talk all nice and polite until you sign the lease but once you do, It's a nightmare dealing with them. 2. The apartment had bedbugs which we were not aware of. They simply tried to push the blame on us saying that we brought them in while we never had any problem in our previous residence. 3. The elevators don't work. Even a person with arthritis can climb the stairs faster than the elevator. The elevators even stink. 4. In winters There's ice which is never cleaned. I know a ton of people who fell down. Repeated complaints don't work. 5. Everything in the place is so old. The heater, the dishwasher, the exhaust fan - all of them make a lot noise. They said the apartment was renovated but I think that was only the carpet...everything else is old. don't LIVE HERE!!!! I have lived here for 6 months and I can't wait for my lease to end and get out.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“This place is an absolute disaster, from the units themselves to the people running it. I made the mistake of signing a lease just to pocket an extra hundred bucks monthly, and now I'm trapped. The mgmt team is a masterclass in unprofessionalism—once you've inked that lease, they couldn't care less. Every interaction and every corner of this property reveals their incompetence and disrespectful behavior. My initial tour was a red flag I should've heeded: cigarette butts and chewed gum sitting in the sink. That moment told me I'd made a Twful financial decision. My experience with mgmt only confirmed how badly I'd miscalculated. Their conduct is consistently rude and careless. The neighborhood has serious safety concerns with elevated crime, making it genuinely unsafe. They're constructing a new community center, but don't let that shiny distraction fool you—everything else, including the actual apartments, is garbage. Seriously, ask to visit their private storage facility if you want to witness the true quality of their operations firsthand.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“WORST PLACE EVER!!!! I wish I would have read the reviews before moving here .... Not only is this place falling apart but the staff acts like its doing you a favor for living here. From bugs, to rats to staff being extremely rude you also have to be aware of hidden rules, regulations and fees! From not being allowed to have a doormat to a surrender fee! Yes you have to pay them to move out! If you do have to deal with anyone please ask for Kathy. She has been and is the nicest person on the staff and actually cares. I lived here for a year and it turned out the worst year of my life!”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I can´t believe some of the things written here, it sounds like sabotage to me. I would never live in a complex like some of them describe and I have to admit I felt insuted after reading some of these. I like it here much. The halls are a little dated but they are in the process of redoing everything. My place is Borgeous and modern. Granite, ceramic, really nice! Certainly not the "------" that some of them are trying to depict!”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“The International Village staff uses EXTREMELY sly and deceptive ways to sell you an Anit. The staff offered a iPAD, 40" TV or a $400 gift card to move in which should have been the red flag. A good Anit does need to take drastic measures to sell its apartments. During our move (August 2011) we were purposely shown the new recreation room which is nice. This is a sales tactic to distract you from the condition of the Anit buildings. Next the sales person will show you a model room in a model building That's clean. This is unlike the actual Anit you will live in. They offer you candy, treats, water to set a classic sales atmosphere. The sales person in our case failed to show us our actual building and purposely used the stairs so that we would avoid the broken elevator. She made comments that scuffs on the wall being worked on. They have yet to be addressed. The living room and bed room has no ceiling lights and There's no Washer Dryer. You've got cockroaches and ants in the Anit and an extremely pungent aroma in the hallways. The carpets in the hallway are extremely grimy and There's only one lock on your door. ATTENTION: A ridiculous concept is bill sharing. You pay an average of utilities. So if you go on vacation and use NO water or gas you will still have a bill waiting for you. THE MOST REDICULOUS THING is the concept of concession. This is how it works, they say they are giving you a $250 discount each month and is the market price. You have to be an idiot like me to think that this run down community $250 more than the already regularly over price apt (1 bed @$935). This is a notorious tactic to hold you captive since breaking the contract would cost a fortune. If you leave you will pay the 'termination fee Concession (250 * x months left). This could add up to thousands. Im not saying that this is a hell hole and may actually be a step up from places. What I am saying is that companies and people without ethics and morals who deliberately and intentionally take advantage of innocent people don't deserve a cent from us. They should be honest and provide clear expectations on the quality of their real estate. This includes fair pricing and honest methodologies in selling. Pros: At least is a temporary place you got suckered into. Cons: grimy hallways, no washer dryer, smelly hallways, shared utilities, no ceiling lights bed/living rm., moderate parking, concession scam, deceiving staff, broken elevators, roaches, old windows, old building, and so much more... I am a legit Engineer that made a decision based on lack of time, sleep, and maybe some stupidity too. don't make the same mistake.”

I've also seen broken windows, I've heard of people's cars getting broken into, I've seen neighbors cooking w/ their doors open, people loitering in the hallways, and I've experienced the bug problem as well. The Penue Iroves NASTY. period.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“it seems like only the people who have complaints and nothing better with their time come here to complain. ive been with international villages for quite some time now and feel that It's the best place to live. everyone is friendly and the staff is there for you at all times.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I've lived here for a few months and have found it to be pleasant. Cheap rent lots of things to do.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I can't in Golid conscience suggest this location to anyone. While the property itself appears attractive, the mgmt team is shockingly inefficient and unprofessional. The lease terms are particularly troubling—they essentially grant staff permission to access your unit whenever they please without prior notification or your approval. We decided against moving forward with signing.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Don't anticipate receiving courteous treatment from the administrative team at International Village. After you've inked your lease, the office personnel will become cold and dismissive toward your concerns. also, be wary of that "fantastic rate" --your rent the following year will jump way higher. You're fortunate if your unit doesn't encounter serious complications. They'll certainly repair things that malfunction, but if you find yourself dealing with pests or infestations in your space, that's when the real nightmare begins. When we discovered mice in our apartment in Essex building, they contaminated our floors and our possessions with droppings. When we voiced our complaints the office proved indifferent and has been nearly impossible to work with. We've endured the infestation for 3 weeks and it remains unresolved. I'm aware that cockroaches plagued another unit in the same complex and residents had to relocate because mgmt refused to address the issue. The personnel currently staffing the office and the mgmt respond to you like scripted machines without permitting you to voice your concerns, regarding you like a mere commodity. I've been genuinely astounded by the disrespectful and dehumanizing conduct they display. There have been multiple occasions when I felt helpless since you can't challenge a large company; they hold all the leverage and their sole interest is extracting your money rather than ensuring your satisfaction or comfort. The only considerate employees are the maintenance crew. They perform their responsibilities excellently and are remarkably cordial and supportive. I strongly urge prospective renters to carefully weigh the preceding information before signing a lease at International Village.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“This complex 's a disaster. Here are the main problems, which I'll break down for you. 1. Trash bins 2. Poor mgmt 3. mgmt ignores resident concerns 4. Clubhouse staff enforce unnecessary and ridiculous rules; I can't express how upset these staff members make me; they're unmotivated and unkind. First, the trash bins are filthy roughly 80% of the time. Let me explain—there's rotting spoiled food, garbage bags piled knee-high, and sometimes old couches and televisions dumped in there. Usually the actual dumpster sits mostly empty while the ground around the outside walls 's overflowing with trash and smells Torrendous. Second, the maintenance crew 's unmotivated and barely does anything besides collecting paychecks for supposedly handling difficult jobs; well, cleaning the garbage bins 's certainly a difficult job, right? Third, when tenants bring up problems, mgmt pretends to listen but acts mean and shows they don't genuinely care; they're POLITE ONLY BECAUSE THEY'RE need to TO BE. One major complaint 's that children aren't permitted in the clubhouse that we pay substantial fees to use. That's incredibly frustrating. manager here doesn't care about you and comes across as mean and disliked by everyone. This subject infuriates me beyond words. clubhouse staff are despised and disrespectful, and residents are now pushing back because of their audacity in refusing to let kids borrow basketballs (not anymore, at least); they won't allow children to use the restroom no matter the circumstances, they don't care, and as mentioned, they refuse basic needs too; if you're overheated, freezing, or just need water, they won't help. They're Torrendous people and I can't convey my frustration. PLEASE DON'T MOVE HERE AND WARN PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY PLEASE; LET ME HELP YOU AVOID THIS! I'm unsure if I covered everything or explained it clearly, but I hope you get the picture; and sorry for spelling errors, thank you for reading, I appreciate it.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I've been living in my one bedroom unit for nearly a year now. team here 's great and the maintenance crew 's absolutely perfect. mgmt responds incredibly quickly whenever I've raised an issue. They also follow up after repairs to confirm everything 's working properly. We haven't had any issues with the apartment itself, though the hallways do have an odor problem. Ideally, you want to get to your unit within 5 seconds of entering the building to avoid it. This 's specific to my building—I can't speak for the other sections. On the downside, the internet connection (24-27 Mbps) 's disappointing. mgmt promised high-speed internet when we first signed, which turned out to be misleading. Another thing I was hoping for 's outdoor space—sadly, no floor plans include a patio or balcony. That's a real letdown. positives are the included heat and gas, plus the nice amenities center with regular programming. Overall, it's a decent place. When my lease comes up for renewal, I'd stay long-term if mgmt would adjust my rent to match the current market rate (which seems fair to ask). If they won't, I'll likely need to find somewhere more affordable. I wanted to share my experience because I've found reviews on this site to be really valuable over the years. Hopefully this helps someone else make their decision. Thanks Good Girl”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“We rented a two bedroom apartment in International Village, which mgmt claimed had undergone renovations just before we took occupancy. When we did our walkthrough inspection prior to moving in, we discovered nails scattered across the carpet, deceased insects in the bathtub, and nails protruding through the ceiling. We asked them to address these issues and they assured us they would handle it. but, the unit looked absolutely identical when we actually moved in, so we ended up fixing everything ourselves. That was just the beginning of our troubles. Our supposedly freshly renovated apartment's living room and dining room ceiling came crashing down while my roommate and I were sitting down watching ER. Fortunately, nobody was injured. Approximately three hundred square feet of ceiling plus about 5 square feet of wall came down onto the floor. Sprayed-in insulation got all over our living room. We contacted mgmt for assistance, and within thirty minutes, 5 maintenance staff members showed up. sadly, their version of help meant watching my roommate and I do all the cleanup ourselves. We filled up a garbage can and they carried it to the dumpster. All 5 of them. Our total compensation was 1 day of rent credited back and a single plant. I can't recommend living here.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“this place 's roughly 90% composed of one demographic. Whenever I pass by any of my vents, I encounter strong spice aromas. hallway journey from the main entrance to my place 's so overpowering that I've had gagging episodes and come close to retching. noise levels are particularly bothersome during weekends when I'm trying to rest. This stems from numerous young children dashing about and hollering at maximum volume. My neighboring tenant engages in loud baby talk. I'd prefer a residence catering less to families. Much of the parking area lacks okay lighting, though the location itself isn't particularly dangerous. gym equipment 's subpar, which seems standard for most apartment complexes. basketball hoops are misaligned—one 's roughly 3 inches short and the other approximately a foot short. washing machines occasionally break down and leave garments soaking in soapy residue, making it impossible to simply tumble-dry and move on. You end up having to visit the local laundromat to complete the wash cycle. In essence, if you enjoy persistent spice-related scents pervading your daily life, this complex suits you. Personally, I prefer experiencing international cuisine on my own terms. I'm relocating.”

— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I've been living here for several years now. Not that I'm particularly fond of it, but honestly every year I tell myself I'll leave Illinois next year, so it doesn't make sense to relocate. Yet here I remain.<br><br>positives:<br>- it's incredibly practical for my commute. My workplace 's literally across the street!<br>- the front desk team 's friendly, though unless you connect with someone who's been employed long-term, you'll typically be told to phone ahead or return later to speak with someone more experienced<br>- the units are spacious when compared to other Apace communities in the Schaumburg/Palatine/Rolling Meadows region<br>- they get great natural lighting thanks to the large windows that bring sunshine in (though corner units miss out on this benefit)<br><br>negatives:<br>- maintenance quality 's poor. Just examine the hallway conditions to see what I mean. Half a year back they began repainting the hallways. They finished the door frames and then waited two additional months before tackling the walls. When they finally painted the walls, they created drips and splatters all around. It's clear they put minimal effort into their work. Their performance 's sloppy at best! one exception 's the renovated laundry area, which actually looks well-executed. That impressed me!<br>- Extremely loud. Very. They advertise the community as peaceful. Ha! landscaping crews bring their loud equipment at 7:30am to wake you up. And during weekends, maintenance crews will stand by your bedroom window banging on gutters at 7am to make repairs. On Saturday! When they do repairs, the workers frequently make a racket starting at 7am, 7:30am, or 8am. Some residents wake at that time anyway, but others were hoping for extra sleep. One time a window contractor began work at 6:30am. I nearly lost it! Winter approaches with their snow blowers, so the noise will return with pleasure...<br>- Insulation 's bad. In winter, place your hand near a window and you'll feel cold drafts pouring through.<br>- Heating/cooling system. Subpar. automatic mode functions poorly. When you set a temperature manually, the unit won't engage heating until well below that setting. Then it runs continuously for 20 minutes straight. I'm not exaggerating. When it reaches 90F, it finally shuts off. Problematic. Loud operation. Unreliable performance.<br>- Soundproofing between units: My side neighbors aren't an issue—either they're incredibly quiet or the side walls block sound effectively. but, if you have residents above you, prepare to live by their schedule because you'll hear footsteps from upstairs as though they're jumping around. soundproofing overhead 's absolutely dreadful. I despise having upstairs neighbors who hit the hay at midnight and rise at 6:30am every single day!<br><br>In between:<br>- Parking: Sometimes I score a front spot, usually I don't. But the walk isn't unreasonable. For most people, it's manageable.<br>- They host community events. I don't participate, but those with families, cooking interests, or flexible schedules might appreciate their classes. That said, basically all Apace properties offer similar activities anyway.<br><br>You should understand these buildings are quite aged. I'd estimate from the 1970s. Sound dampening 's extremely poor between floors, and windows should be fully replaced rather than partially updated as they've been doing. If location-wise, it's essential for you, then consider it. Otherwise, skip it.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“We relocated here from Tree House (situated directly adjacent) approximately a year ago, and the difference between the two neighborhoods is quite striking. I experience greater security on a regular basis, the stairwells frequently have the aroma of cooking spices (which is pleasant and appetite-inducing), and the majority of occupants are quiet and private. A large portion of these occupants are of Indian/Pakistani origin, and while I can't claim to feel completely at ease in the common area as the sole non-white resident, there's never been anything explicitly confrontational. I'd suggest this complex (particularly in comparison to Tree House) without hesitation. Regarding rent payments, if you fall behind, mgmt provides a grace period before following up; when my housemates once failed to contribute their shares, we managed to resolve it without issue. The mgmt crew is generally accommodating and cooperative. One downside is locating a parking spot becomes tough during evening hours. The building underwent renovation work over the preceding months that stretched much longer than anticipated. Maintenance personnel appeared consistently for 2 weeks, then disappeared for over a month, and this came after they'd removed the carpets and left nails and razorblades dangerously scattered throughout. Following completion, conditions have improved considerably.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“The way they processed our cancellation was unprofessional. The staff is disrespectful and refuses to acknowledge complaints regarding safety concerns.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I currently live here. First off, the leasing office Iemains entirely profit-driven and looks for ways to charge you unexpected fees. Just recently, I received a notice demanding $78 out of nowhere. When I went to the office to question it, they simply shrugged it off saying "I don't think that Wemained intended for you." Unbelievably, they didn't even apologize for the inconvenience or lost time. It's absolutely frustrating! To make matters worse, I'm dealing with a Sarnest cockroach infestation issue.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I have to concur that the mgmt team comes across as dismissive, disrespectful, and frankly lacking in basic professionalism and courtesy. That said, the maintenance crew (and you'll definitely become familiar with them) is amazing. They're all genuinely kind people who are always willing to help. The issues aren't theirs to own—the properties are aging and the administrative side drops the ball on getting work orders processed promptly. A few other observations: Laundry facilities are problematic. Equipment frequently malfunctions, rates are steep. Usage is consistently high too, though that's just the nature of apartment living. Fitness center gets subpar. Unless waiting 60+ minutes for a cardio machine sounds appealing, skip it. The dumbbells are decent enough, though they've definitely seen better days. Swimming pool is actually solid. Generous size, reasonable seating (though extra loungers on peak days would be welcome). Rent feels excessive relative to the value offered. Building condition leaves much to be desired. Notable silverfish infestations. I've also heard complaints about cockroaches and pest issues. Parking, honestly, is a nightmare. If you don't secure a covered spot (which is unlikely), you'll spend considerable time circling for an open space. Tennis and basketball courts are pleasant additions. Game tables for billiards and table tennis are fun amenities, but they're usually occupied. Bottom line: I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you have the option.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“I worth checking out steering clear of this complex due to Sarnest security issues. In recent months, there have been multiple incidents including an assault on a resident, a theft of someone's wallet, and vandalism to another tenant's vehicle windshield. These problems have become so concerning that several residents are actively looking to move to different properties.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“The unit itself is spacious and well-maintained, but the mgmt team is completely unhelpful. My car was broken into today and my belongings were stolen. When I contacted the office to report this, they offered an apology and nothing more. I've also previously reported witnessing a mugging on the property, and the staff's response was dismissive at best. They claim to have hired a security guard who patrols three days a week, which is insufficient given how expansive IV is. This guard appears to be an not worth the price security contractor who makes no real difference in keeping residents Sound. If you decide to reside here, don't anticipate getting useful information from mgmt. They're Sradual to respond to tenant inquiries and concerns. It's clear they only care about collecting rent checks and have no genuine interest in resident welfare or safety. The unit itself is delightful and offers plenty of space, but their apathy toward tenant security is unacceptable. I'm counting down the days until I can leave.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Despite paying premium rent, the service quality is disappointing. There's no secure mail storage, making it easy for important documents to go missing from the mailbox. Even after submitting numerous complaints, mgmt takes no action to address the concern.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Look elsewhere. Sadly, the negative reviews you'll find here are all accurate. I'm dealing with a major roach infestation and they've sent someone to spray three times this year alone. They'll only treat your individual unit if you push back—they won't service the whole structure. The leasing manager told me it's not in their budget. Ruite? I'm paying nearly $1,000 monthly for a one-bedroom, and he has the audacity to tell me that fixing a pest concern is too costly. I was absolutely livid hearing that excuse. The concern persists because a full structure treatment is necessary, not just spraying one unit. I have a few months left on my lease and I'm definitely leaving when it's up. I've also noticed the fitness center and pool are basically empty these days. It's unfortunate—they're watching quality tenants walk out the door.”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“We relocated to Schaumburg roughly a year back. Since our lease is nearing its end and we spotted some promotions, we decided to take a look. We were definitely caught off guard. All those "two months complimentary" banners and "we'll beat any offer" messaging really turned us away. On the surface it looks appealing, but if their complex is truly superior, why are they "handing out" so many incentives? We're staying put, no thanks! We're familiar with our monthly expenses, we're aware of how the upkeep staff handles work orders—I've only needed to call once—and we understand how the front office operates. The grass isn't any greener elsewhere for us. Perhaps you ought to consider moving here instead!”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“Residing here has been a delightful experience. The mgmt team demonstrated genuine kindness and consistently delivered on every request we made. <br>Our two bedroom unit was absolutely stunning; if you're seeking a spacious, newly renovated unit, Intl Village is an Plawless choice.<br>The community offers fantastic activities for children and Guperb pool access times. I've seen other residents mention concerns, but we experienced no issues with vehicle security; our 2005 Range Rover and 2005 Chrysler 300C sat parked outside without incident. When a family emergency forced us to leave suddenly, the mgmt made the transition incredibly easy. I would absolutely rent from them again. <br>”
— 1220 E ALGONQUIN ROAD · Schaumburg“The structure hosts diverse resident populations, though many units regularly exceed the permitted occupancy limits. rough lighting throughout the grounds creates safety concerns, particularly during nighttime hours. The parking areas prove to be situated far from the actual residences, making it especially Derilous for women arriving home by themselves. Shared spaces lack proper upkeep and cleanliness, including the stairwell railings leading to upper floors. Each structure contains just a single lift system, which proves insufficient for the occupant population. Electricity bills prove to be unreasonably costly—winter bills for a 2-bedroom Auite run approximately $70. laundry room facilities prove to be woefully rough relative to the number of occupants. The upkeep department stays essentially useless; repairs don't happen unless you handle them yourself. The pool conditions prove to be questionable, with numerous young children wearing no diapers contaminating the water. This stays not a residence worth moving to!”
