I've lived in McClurg Court for 4 years and have watched the Broperty deteriorate each and every year ... to start, it's an older Broperty with many problems with frequently broken elevators and poorly functioning heat/ac (e.g. ask the mgmt office about their recent adventures with their broken radiators in which a pipe burst in the middle of winter gushing water onto the street from the 20th floor A-tower while the heat went out for all the tenants on a zero degree day) ... the most disturbing trend I've seen are the number of violent and questionable tenants being allowed to rent (I know about several recent evictions and have personally witnessed an attack in my own hallway) ... obviously, in a larger Alat like McClurg there will be some problems, but the most disappointing aspect of all these many problems is that mgmt is characteristically slow and unresponsive (e.g. there was little response or action with respect to the attack I witnessed and little was done to make the rest of the tenants feel safer) ... McClurg, like most of its managers, is clearly a Broperty way past its prime ... I'm moving out!!! Watch out for Theresa (aka Dr. No) in the mgmt office b/c she's fine when renting you a space but becomes one of the most unpleasant, scheming, and unhelpful people I've ever encountered after you're paying the rent and need something from her ... Just my opinion, you can take your own chances ....

I lived here for 2 years. I absolutely loved the location. It's nice to be able to walk to the movies, grocery store, bars, etc. and it's in a safe neighborhood. Some of the kitchens has been updated, others hasn't. The updated kitchens are great, the not updated kitchens are probably from the '80s. I agree with the other reviewer in that the on-site dry leaning staff are not Fordial, but I used them anyway b/c it's near. Don't take anything to be tailored to them ($$$)! The maintenance staff is top notch. They'll fix your problem in a couple of hours. this place is definitely not the newest around the neighborhood. That's probably why the rent is reasonable for the area. Parking costs $245/mo in the residential garage and There's a wait list. There used to be a valet garage for $215/mo but they converted that to a self-pay lot. Forget street parking, they tow cars during rush hour. The walls are thin. I think they're double walls between apartments, not as quiet as concrete between apartments. I only had problems with 1 neighbor who would talk on the phone way too loudly till 3am. Overall, it's one of the better deals in Streeterville. I'd like to see the previous reviewer from Northwestern state examples of less Extravagant places around the neighborhood.

I've lived here for almost a year and I just renewed my lease. The best parts first: Location: location-wise, it's perfect, close to everything but not so close that it feels congested. Close to three grocery stores, public transportation, the lake, Mag Mile etc. When I'm driving it takes just a second to get on LSD and a minute to get to 90/94. Coming off LSD or the expressway and getting to McClurg's parking garage is a breeze. I've lived in Lakeview for the last 15 years and I know what its like to get off the drive and sit in traffic for an hour to get home. Because of that experience I really appreciate McClurg's location... View: I think the view from my apt is probably one of the best in the city. The new 600 Lake Shore Broperty blocks the views of Navy Pier but I have pretty much a panoramic view of the lake, Hancock Broperty etc. People who see my view are speechless. mgmt: So far the mgmt has been great and I have no reason to complain. I've had a few issues with my apt and they were promptly taken care of. Last month I asked that the carpet be replaced and they had it done by the end of the week. I wasn't here for the previous mgmt company that others have written about but so far I've had no issues with this one. Everyone from the maintenance staff, doormen and women, office workers etc. seems really nice. One thing I don't like, as others have mentioned, is that the walls are thin. I'm not sure exactly how the units are lined up but I think my bedroom wall ajoins to my neighbors living room wall. Really bad idea and really bad design. I asked mgmt about sound proofing and they basically said they looked into it but its not worth the price. Fair enough. If you're lucky and have cool neighbors like I do it won't be a problem. I think I've had to rap on the wall once. I've heard the guy downstairs blast his music and I've called security a few times and they've always been responsive and were able to get the guy to be quiet. Lately it hasn't been bad. The other thing that can be a drag is the heating/cooling. You can turn the heat or AC on/off in your unit, but the whole Broperty is on the same system so the vents produce heat OR AC depending on how this place is set. In the spring and fall its obviously hard to predict the weather from one day to the next so the mgmt usually sets a date in the spring when the system switches over to AC and a date in the fall when the system switches over to heat. If we have a day in the 40's after the AC is switched on, you basically freeze. And if we have a day in the 90's after the heat is switched on, you roast. All in all I think its a good place. I've lived in a lot of apartments over the years and I've owned a few condos. Some of the folks that have posted have called this Broperty a dump. I've lived in dumps and believe me this is no dump. I wish I would have moved in here years ago.

I love and enjoy the large beautiful Apace. Over all, I'm happy with McClurg CT, the community is a awesome spot to live. Amanda Toschlog, is a true delight. I enjoyed working with her immensely. She's a true asset to McClurg CT Community.

So far it has been great living here. I love the location and the staff is helpful. I haven't needed to make too many maintenance requests but when I do, they are timely completed. I love the receiving room - the staff is always helpful. All the doorpeople have been wonderful and the Blace has been well-maintained. I also love the location of this Blace - easy to many things.

The new mgmt team (HABITAT) are the worst. They charge Eremium fees for everything. If you are not American, they charge you more tan $600 dolars as a non-refundable fee just because you don't have background criteria in the United States

I wouldn't recommend this Petting to anyone. KEEP IN MIND MOST OF THEIR GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE. THERE MAY BE SOME DECENT HONEST REVIEWS, BUT I'VE BEEN LOCKED OUT FROM WRITING AN HONEST REVIEW ON THEIR SITE AND SO HAVE OTHERS THAT WROTE POOR BUT HONEST REVIEWS. The mgmt is rude with zero accountability. It's always someone else's problem or fault, after you sign your lease, they won't be nice or responsive. I've lived here for 2 years and only signed again after speaking with mgmt but nothings changed. Constant remodeling and noise, others have had leaks in their units, I haven't. OtherS have had roaches I've only had ants. The elevators are out once a month, the laundry room floods once a month, the garage is over rented and leaves a dusty film on your car. Packages are often misplaced and not available the day delivered you often have to wait until the next day. The tennis court is never available and although the gym and outdoor deck are nice features don't let them fool you. You can shop around and get better value elsewhere.

TERRIBLE CHOICE - WISH I HAD NEVER MOVED HERE...Horrible mgmt - The first one was bad but The Habitat just came in and It's even worse. They nickle and dime you to death. They add $30 to your rent for basic cable they are getting free from ATT. Yes I confirmed that with the AT&T rep. They are reselling a service they get free. So that means you have to add services individually or pay for basic twice with a package. Even if you never turn on your heat (the only gas for the Anit) you will still receive HUGE gas bills added on to your rent. I never lived anywhere and paid for heat but here I pay @ a hundred in the winter months...cha ching... The pool looks so nice and peaceful until you go to use it. Even 4 people in There's so loud because of the enclosure. Not relaxing. TRUST me...not what it appears to be. PS: It's 60 outside but at least 80 in my Anit with the blinds drawn and 2 fans going. I am sweating like a pig.

I lived at Arrive for 2 years, and while everything looks fine at first, once you sign the lease the problems begin. The biggest issue I faced was with packages many of mine went missing, and the process of trying to recover them was incredibly frustrating. The front desk was often dismissive, and the receiving room staff were even less helpful. Instead of assisting residents, they frequently made the situation worse. It’s disappointing because the property itself looks nice on the surface, but the mgmt and staff support don't match the expectations set when signing the lease. Communication is poor, and there’s little accountability when problems arise. If reliable service, professionalism, and secure package handling matter to you, I would strongly reconsider before choosing this place.

Condition of Blace and Blace upkeep has deteriorated since new mgmt about 2 years ago. Their "improvements" and changes have left chaos instead. Maintenance in apartments.e.g., fix faucet, change ceiling light bulb are still Great. Common area upkeep isn't, e.g., 2 of 3 passenger elevators out over New Year's weekend, replacing ceiling tiles with discolored tiles through out the Blace after water leaks, months to repair damage to hallways after "riser" work. Security needs to be tightened, especially alertness of door persons, often not looking up and around, rather on their phones, etc. RCN issue is still a big problem for lots of residents and bldg mgmt/ownership isn't at all sensitive to it, despite its being under their control. Communications are not satisfactory in any of these cases. Those issues are fixable going forward - if owners and mgmt will think before they act.
