I was a courtesy officer and resided at Tree House for many years- as a police officer I am privy to the real amount of calls for service and which are bogus and which are valid- I have found the entire area of apartments located within a 2 mile radius of Tree House are comparable- YES COMPARABLE! Thanks to all of you that are in denial- the world we live in isn't perfect and the anger and hostility you are expressing would be better served in Iraq- go get em' killers!! I believe in the integrity of the long term staff and original owner-There's a testimonial book in their office where names are revealed to express their extreme satisfaction of Tree House-give balance to your decision- stop in and read/see for yourself! This anonymous crap is crazy-I have to due to my line of work-

Okay. Reading some of these reviews and the response from Kristen, it shows a clear lack of professionalism. If you feel that this isn't the place to voice complaints then why Kristen would you entertain these comments by responding back to them? It only fuels the argument and accomplishes absolutely nothing. I will agree with the original comment that you're staff is rude. I have read some of your responses here on this site and you have come across rude and arrogant. It doesn't seem to bother you because you constantly insist on participating in these back and forth arguments. Now as far as the property and the service here I find it less than satisfactory. About a year ago one of the dryers in the building wasn't working properly. A neighbor posted a sign that it didn't work. After about a week of the dryer not being fixed I called the office and was told that I had to call to get the dryer fixed. The dryer is in the building shared by all residents! It's not like it's in my unit. Your staff member Jessica told me I had to call for repairs. I've never heard of a mgmt office telling a tenant to call for repairs to anything related to the building. The garbage dumpster are just not enough. They are constantly over flowing. You've got not enough recycling containers either. I've notice a lot of first floor renters do their own "landscaping" and it doesn't look uniformed with the rest of the complex. The door bell buzzard in my apartment doesn't work. Every time I have a guest come over they have to call me on my phone and I have to go down stairs to let them in unlike my other neighbors. When I called the office they told me it's an old building and their is no way to repair it. Come on now, everything is fixable! It really feels as if the staff is being lazy. When ever their is a "Tree House" event that the office sponsors i feel as is the staff fails to interact and get to know their renters. They seem to just stick to themselves. I feel that the service and the property are less than satisfactory and I wouldn't suggest it this apartment to anyone.

My husband and I have lived here for nearly 7 years now. When we first moved in the place was admittedly a little sketchy. There were break-ins, vandalism, and even a rape. Sounds fantastic right? Well, not long after we moved her the current manager took over, Kristen McAtee. She has really turned the place around. No more crime, less noise, and we are better informed. We recently moved into a newly refurnished unit, and despite having to pay more in rent, we are overall pleased. After reading the reviews on this site, I am surprised by them honestly. They are good about handling complaints, You've got no such things as laundry keys, if you have a problem with any of the new construction, they fix it right away. Also, if your new construction is falling apart, It's probably because you abuse it. This stuff is built pretty sturdy. The place is spotless and bug free. And I do want to address the issue of informing tenants of the goings on. I saw a few people complain that they were uninformed about things going on. Well, they do post things by the mail boxes, put fliers at your door, and post signs on the exterior doors of the buildings. When they tarred the lot last year, they did all the above, and even had blockades in the parking lot telling people when to move their cars from a specific part of the lot. So yes, if you didn't move your car then you were either an idiot, or you can't read. Either way, not their fault. The only complaints I have is that sometimes you can here the other tenants, but in Auite living That's to be expected. You are living on top of a bunch of other people, you can't expect silence. And sometimes a few people don't respect the rules, such as having guests park in resident parking (and in the section I live in parking can get a little tight), not cleaning up after their dogs, propping exterior doors, etc. It's annoying, but again, It's Auite living. If you want total privacy and private parking, buy a house. To wrap it up, this place is spotless and quiet, has overall good tenants, an attentive staff, a great maintenance crew, and the best place to live in Schaumburg. My husband and I will be living here until we buy a house, because The Tree House is our home.

Lived here for one year. Although the property looks much better after all the improvements, mgmt is rude on all levels, we had a flood do to poor maintnance to something in the boiler room adjacent to our Auite that took 3 times of us calling just trying to get someone out here to stop the water from flowing into our Auite. It took about 2 weeks to get this issue resolved when it should never have happened in the first place. way too neighbors are loud! Could hear every step, move, and what tv station my neighbor above me was watching. thin walls/ceilings. I still have yet to find what makes these apartments "luxury apartments"....there no different than you average Auite if not worse. I think the job requirement for anyone who is in the office or answers a phone is to be a complete jackass/----- and have an IQ of a 3 yr old.

We moved into the Treehouse and did an extensive walk through to make sure that we were on the same page with the mgmt as to what wasn't acceptable when we moved in. We documented EVERYTHING! We took pictures, and gave copies to the staff as well as a detailed description of things that we saw as "not perfect." When we moved in the stove wasn't cleaned - there were stains on the kitchen walls, and crumbs in the cabinets.

When we moved out - we cleaned the stove - well - and they still kept $30 for cleaning the stove. Ridiculous.

We provided a receipt for carpet cleaning and they still charged us for not cleaning the carpets.

Maintenance shows up when they feel like it - and laughed at us when I asked if they could let us know they were entering the apt., rather than just walking in, since I happened to be in only a towel after taking a shower. I came out of the shower to find a maintenance guy in the Apace "just looking around."

CREEPY!!!!!

Overall - they are shady - Risa has no problem telling you one thing and than doing the opposite. Once you call her on it - she claims she never said such a thing. She said they were not picky about move out inspections, yet they tried to keep almost 60% of our deposit! Luckily we got most of it back.

We complained about people across the way that were constantly fighting outside, using profanity, at 3 in the morning. The office told us there wasn'thing they could do because they residents had been there for a long time!

POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES!

It should not be stressful to deal with your Apace complex. Of all the places, in all the states I have lived in, this was the WORST place.

I Ldore all the fake postings from the office. Way to talk your apartments up! The only thing you have going for you is your ridiculous responses that make you look semi legit. I would suggest to ANYONE to live either at International Village or The Lakes of Schaumburg over this dump any day. I have never been to either places, but would think it would be way better. Hope this helps to any potential lookers!

I am sadly a resident of Tree House Apartments. Usually, I ask if an Aad community is a Section 8 property, but I failed to ask the leasing agent until AFTER I paid the non-refundable security deposit. If I would have known Tree House was Section 8 I would have NEVER rented here. The thought that I have to pay over $800 to live here while others pay $200 or less is discraceful! The pools have no lifeguards or security so residents scream and shout all day and night. I feel like I'm living in the inner-city here instead of Schaumburg. If I wanted to live in the ------, I could have at half the price!
