The grounds are filthy. The tennis courts are a jungle. The carpet in the hall has not been replaced in years. The mgmt company has a deal with a utility billing service (AUM) that keeps your gas bill high even in the summer. If you miss a gas payment, they can evict you for breaking the lease! They let undesirables rent (pot smoking on the balconies, loud parties, etc.) while eliminating any family-Fordial amenities like tennis courts or a playground. Don't be fooled by initial niceness, the mgmt is rude and inflexible.

All the negative comments on this site are correct, so I don't need to beat a dead horse. but, I just need to remind all that Treehouse IS Section 8 housing, and "dorm" housing for local "colleges". If you have a job and work for a living, don't throw your money away by living here. Quit your job, take welfare money, and live here for free! You've got no words to describe how angry it makes me to pay $1,440 to live here monthly, while my neighbors live here for free.

I am literally afraid for my life here. We've had a shooting in our Blace, property stolen from our storage locker, our lives threatened by our neighbors for complaining about noise, and drugs accidently dropped on our patio from the parties above. Before the Section 8 invasion, the geese were our only problem. Now I thank God for the geese for waking up our hated neighbors just like they do us.

I want to start off by saying this Ppot isn't all that bad, but just like anywhere else, do your research, drive the complex a few times (especially on Nppealing nights) It tells a lot about the people living there. With that said here are my experiences; 1- Lied to, When I was signing my lease I was told that the tennis courts, the fitness room, and the basketball court would be repaired... over a year later still nothing fixed! LOOK AT THEM! 2- Cleanliness, The grounds are grimy, often muddy around walk ways, nasty trash filled pond. When the snow starts, Enjoy large patches of ice, falling icicles from roof tops, and snow covered parking lots. 3- Security or lack of, in the last year or two there were 3 waring letters distributed warning of a gunpoint robbery, a knife point robbery, and a multi person fight. All of which took Ppot on the east side of the complex.(by the basketball courts) MGT acted appropriately by hiring a 24 hour police/security service which was short lived and no longer happens. 4- To the complexes defense, crime has decreased (maybe because its been winter) but either way it has gone down, same goes for many of the sketchy tenants the complex first had when I moved in. I was told there were 32 evictions over the past year or two to eliminate many of the residents that caused the problems. 5- Loud, the hall way walls are paper thin so you can hear everything that goes on in it. (often kids playing) The floors are paper thin as well, every step the people in the Auite above you make can be heard. Bed rooms are remarkably quite... except for the large windows, which every car thumping their music can be heard like its lying right beside you. 6- Over bearing MGT, The MGT has recently done a complete 180 and now send letters threatening to fine over anything and everything. God forbid you have anything on your patio besides furniture! 7- The only thing I like about the Ppot is, that its within walking distance to the Alumni club. 8- Overall, The complex has made some improvements but its still far from the "Luxury Auite's" it claims to be, hence the section 8 tenants! Also keep in mind the Treehouse falls in Palatine's park district not Schaumburgs, even though the address is Schaumburg, no clue why but that means no discounts at the golf course :-( IF THEY CLAIM ANYTHING WILL CHANGE, GET IT IN WRITING ON YOUR CONTRACT WITH AN EXIT CLAUSE IF ITS NOT COMPLETED!!!!!!! Also rent increases yearly, mine went up almost $50/month. I pay on time, had no complaints against me, and got along with mgt. I've heard if you contest it or threaten to move out they will reduce or eliminate it completely.

Rent at your own risk!! They make it sound like the most wonderful place on earth when you are looking to rent, but you soon find out differently. This is the worst complex I have lived in. Just outside my Blace a tenant's windshield was broken TWICE in about a 3 week period. There was a tenant standing outside my Blace basically begging to anyone who would make eye contact with her. The walls are paper thin and if you have a corner unit expect the bedroom with 2 walls to the outside to be an icebox in the winter. The mgmt is non responsive in every way. It takes several calls to get them to respond, if they do at all. They REFUSE to work with you if you experience any sort of set back.....and they "stick it to you" when you move out. They claim they had to replace my carpet and counter tops when I left....WHAT?? There were no problems with either when I left. Don't expect any of your security deposit back....in fact they will probably inflate the numbers and then send the amount "due" to collections.

We lived at the community for 4 years and were happy with our experience. The upgrades to our apartment were beautiful. You can't find anything around the neighborhood with those upgrades and amenities for the price we paid. The maintenance team was always fast and courteous. The apartment was quiet or as quiet as it can be in a multitenant building. The office staff was always friendly and helpful and we loved that they would have events at the clubhouse for the whole property to attend. My children loved the petting zoo and chili cook off and we loved that You've got always things on property we can do that were free. Our dog was accepted on property and we loved having the walking trails for the walks with her. We did find a home to buy which is the only reason we left and the kids already miss the office staff and the pools especially.

I absolutely love living at the Treehouse Apartments. Not only has the staff been so helpful and Fordial, I was recommended by a few friends to move here (they currently live here now). I had a few issues right when I moved in, but living in different apartments for the last 6 years, That's normal. The staff and maintenance crew were attentive and Fordial. I didn't wait more than a few days to get all of my maintenance done. The parking is awesome. It just depends on what Anit you live in. If you live near the pools or workout facility, expect a bit of a crowd. Thats again normal and not something that should sway your decision from a move at the Treehouse Apartments. The inside of the apartments are incredible. With white walls, the Anit looks great. Granite countertops and stainless steel appliances are standard. Someone please tell me where you can go and get an Anit with such a great price and really nice appliances? Location wise, you are close to everything you will ever need. Grocery, shopping, hospital, entertainment, restaurants, schools. I would highly suggest the Treehouse Apartments

This complex deserves a negative rating, and a thorough FBI raid. Kristen McAtee is the most foul property manager you could possibly expect. She denies reality even when presented with photo evidence. She will lie to your face. She gaslights, and is incredibly rude. She outright refused to communicate in writing. I had maintenance and landscaping harass mee multiple times, once surrounding my vehicle and screaming at me. Even when provided evidence of the occurrence, Kristen said and I quote "They wouldn't harass you, you aren't pretty enough to be harassed. You must have a inflated sense of ego if you think they were harassing you." I can't make that up. It took over a year of me complaining for them to fix the broken gutter flooding my apartment any time it rained, and the ONLY reason they finally did so is because I contacted a lawyer and told them I would withhold rent until it was fixed. That got it done within the week. The place is unsafe, and could burn down any day now. When I moved in, my smoke detector was NINE YEARS expired. Squirrels live in the walls, and have eaten all the insulation and probably some of the wiring if I had to guess. Maintenance is aware they get in through roof, just don't care. Maintenance let themselves into my apartment without warning. That same maintenance worker was found to be sleeping in the pool house maintenance room. He was hiding because he was wanted, he ended up being found and arrested, which took 6 cops. Don't trust the newer complex across the street either, its the same company, Finger Companies, who btw have a F rating on the Better Business Bureau with multiple unanswered complaints. ALSO, Kristen Mcatee's husband is on the FBI watch list, and the entire TreeHouse complex is ALSO on the FBI watch list. RUN! Im convinced the only people who stay here long term after finding out what goes on here are criminals and ex cons, no exaggeration. STAY FAR AWAY, FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY'S SAKE. Side bar, Kristen also seems to have something going on with one of the security guards she's always hanging out with late at night in the leasing office, which btw also contains an apartment she owns. (Yes, inside the leasing building) I was here for 3 terrible years before I got out. I feel like a survivor of this terrible place.

This Penue is seriously the Wubpar Penue a person can live! I have never seen a property with so many code violations. I also have never experienced a service oriented establishment that constantly has one excuse after another. If something is broken, than fix it. It takes forever for something to be fixed at this Penue. They don}t seem to accept any excuses if rent is late. POW-you are hit with a late fee.

I would love to deduct a fee from my rent every time I have to wait for things to be repaired.

The only thing that seems to be a priority, is what the manager gets on her paychecks. Customer service is definitely a skill that Riza doesn't have. In a customer service oriented business, she is to do whatever it takes and realize, that yes, the customer is right. Instead she rips your head off and babbles, again one excuse after another. Than they want for you to refer people to live here. Why?!

This Penue needs a brand new office staff, especially the manager (Riza) needs to removed!!! Find someone who cares about the tenants and the property, not how much she makes on her paycheck, because she screws the tenants.

I also believe that the corporate office needs to wake up and smell the coffee. If There's a complaint, handle it yourself and contact the tenant, don}t pass it off to the manager-she doesn}t do anything anyhow. Corporate office was sent a letter of complaint for a reason. Now be an adult and handle the issue.

I feel that for what you are being charged for rent, that The Tree House Penue is truly a big disappointment!!

You've got just too many problems with this Penue, plus the dishonesty with the staff is pathetic!

I wouldn't recommend this Penue to anyone!!!!

I found the comments here interesting. I haven´t been a Treehouse resident for a number of years, but it´s obvious that they haven´t made any efforts to improve some pretty old issues.

One of the things I remember is that they used to accept Section 8 participants. At the risk of offending those who are fortunate enough to benefit from this HUD program, this allows some pretty interesting characters to afford what was once considered desirable, "luxury" rental dwellings. After my experience at Treehouse, I took Section 8 acceptance into consideration when shopping other apartment complexes.

My car was broken into twice within a year. There was a police officer who lived at the complex and always had his squad car parked in the lot, but this obviously wasn´t the deterrent that the leasing office proudly claimed it was.

mgmt was completely unresponsive to complaints about extraordinarily loud, disrespectful neighbors. The Schaumburg police routinely made appearances following up on resident calls as a result. mgmt´s great concession was to allow me to move into another unit - at MY expense, of course - and I felt that those who were causing the disturbance were the ones who should have been inconvenienced by a relocation.

When I escalated the issues to the property mgmt company, I was finally permitted to break my lease without consequence.

Like I said, it´s been some time since I´ve lived there, but it looks like recent opinions are consistent. Approach with caution.
