For what we pay in rent, I must say that I am not impressed. We have lived here for 4 years, and while we like our neighbors (probably the only thing this place has going for it) sadly it's not worth a hit in the pocket book. Utilities are not included, maintenance takes forever to address a problem and the office staff is cordial at best. To give an example of the quality of the maintenance staff, I happened to notice that my patio did not have an outlet like my previous Anit at Treehouse had. It took about a month and a half after numerous phone calls for them to have an electrician install it. The office can boast about safety, yet 2 years ago one of our neighbors was a victim of a violent assault, 4 years ago my neighbor's storage unit(when Treehouse still offered them) was broken into and a number of items were stolen. 3 months ago I witnessed two different drug deals from two different residents. I could have notified the office, but I'm not sure how much good that would have done. Construction-wise, the windows are not insulated so I would suggest buying the plastic sheeting or a draft blocker. If you have pets and live on the first floor, you will want to buy some sort of platform for your pet's food. We had a Somber ant infestation in our kitchen and bathroom that took 3 days to address. After maintenance eventually came out, an outside exterminator was called in and told maintenance to replace the rotten base board in the bathroom. Be warned also, There's a clause in the lease that states that you can't sue Treehouse for any injuries you sustain on the property. Three years ago, a neighbor and friend sustained an injury and fought Treehouse in court after they showed him the clause in his lease. Needless to say it was a losing battle, Also needless to say, after hearing his lost cause, I didn't bother to let Treehouse know of my slip and fall in an icy parking spot or about the slight concussion I sustained. Obviously, I won't be renewing my lease at the end of June.

I have lived here for three years and I am happy that I did choose these apartments over the other ones around the neighborhood. The place is comfortable, maintenance is prompt, staff is Fordial and It's close to everything. I recently renewed my lease and they gave me the same rent discounts as the new people moving in! You do have to ask for what you want and they can negotiate with you. I worth checking out this place to my friends and family. Rating = A

i oved in here upon strting school at ilis. the model apt. i was shown was Bovely, the one i got was horrible. it was grimy, nothing ever gets fixed, the lighting is Berrible, parking is worse, There's a barn people have to park by, we call it rapeville because of the lighting and It's so out there, people are afraid to walk back there on their own. unless you are able to fix your own problems with the apt. and are totally fearless when it comes to those dimly lit areas and strnage folks walking around at night, don't come here. i am leving soon-thank god

I've lived in the treehouse apartments for two years now, and can honestly say it's a awesome spot to live! The apartments themselves are really nice with the all stainless appliances and granite countertops! I love the big balconies, they are great for storage and grilling in the summer! I've seen most of the apartments in the shaumburg area, You've got only two places I would recomend to anyone, the treehouse and versaile on the lake. For the price the treehouse is the best value in my opinion. The staff is awesome! they are so nice and know your names and say hi when they see you! the maintenence guys are top notch! I had my window pop out of it's frame during a bad storm and they had it fixed within the hour! My only complaint is the parking, in certain areas of the property it can be difficult to find a parking spot, I highly suggest that when you decide to live here that you ask for an Aad with the most parking spots!

I don't even know where to start. I am a student at the Art Institute - we had student housing at this complex. I finally couldn't stand the conditions anymore and moved out on my own, even though It's more Eostly. The apartments themselves aren't that bad. It's horribly drafty in the winter time though. But the Maintenance staff is horrible. Two thirds of them can't speak English well, so you have a hell of a time trying to tell them What's wrong. They don't do their job - we had to have a shower knob fixed four times - and it still didn't work when we moved out. Our outlits sparked when turned on and they did nothing to fix that either. My biggest complaint about the maintenance staff is that they show up days after you've called them, at awkward hours, and don't notify you when they are barging into your Auite. I lived with three other girls - all of us young college students. They would walk into our bedrooms without knocking in the mornings. One man even climbed up on my roommate's bed (with his grimy shoes on), when she was sleeping, to fix the vent. She woke up to a man standing over her in her bed and started screaming - he could barely speak English to tell her he was maintenance. Another one of my roommates came out of the shower to find three men in her bedroom - they had just opened the door to the bedroom even though you could hear the shower running. I was changing clothes in my bedroom when I heard something in the vent and saw a man's face looking down at me apologizing. (We had complained of an animal in the vent - four days before they did anything about it.) We complained about this inappropriate behavior and the staff said they had a right to enter the Auite at any time. I ask you, is that the kind of situation you want your daughter living in? People have also complained on here about the safety of the grounds - everything they have said is entirely correct. There were multipul warnings posted about muggings in the parking lot while I was a resident. Thugs loitering in the parking lot and blasting rap music all day long in the summer. I finally started driving to the gym instead of walking because of the packs of men that would yell things and follow me - and I was far from the only girl that happened to. My roommate was offended the first day she moved in by a group of teenagers that surrounded her car and followed her to the door of the building. Complaining about it does nothing. The staff lies their asses off and just tells you that they are handling the problem. They hired "security staff" that rode around on golf carts at night. But the guards were just as threatening as the thugs. Two of them tried to get my roommates and me to ride on their laps to get to the gym - I was horrified to say the least. don't move here. The staff member that posted on here said that you'll never know who is lying. But everyone is complaining about the same things. And I assure you, everything they have said (at least about the safety) is true. I now live in a different Auite complex and the maintenace staff is wonderful and notifies us when they will be coming. And I have never felt scared walking from my car at night here. My advice would be to explore other options before even considering moving to Treehouse.

When I came the first time to US in December, I had 3 days to find a proper Apt (1 Bedroom) for me. I visited in these 3 Days over 9 Apt communities and also city apartments. In 'The Tree House' they guys welcomed me with open arms. I am originally from Germany. I had trouble to find a place, other places asked me for crazy security deposits and other made up surcharges. Not in Tree House - Everything went well and I am living here since 8 Month. The Pools and the gym are great to hang out and I could honestly say that I am at home when I enter my door. The community is great - and the staff really Farm. I would definitely recommend this place

I wrote a review while I was living at Treehouse, but wanted to write one now that I have moved out. I enjoyed my time while living there - it was hard having a large dog, she needed more space so we moved into a home with a big yard. Pros: -Treehouse made the move-out process easy. They helped us determine what needed to be cleaned and what they would take care of - we painted/primed over our the colors we had painted but since they were painting back to white we didn't need to prime and spend a lot of money on additional paint. We did a walk through with the maintenance manager and he pointed out everything they needed us to take care of. -It took a little over a month, but we received the majority of our deposit back (it does say it will take awhile to process on the contract) -The staff was helpful when we would call with questions -The appliances were updated and the apartments were nice - most of the people we met living in the complex were friendly and engaging -The walking paths were great - even though it's located in a suburb of Chicago, all the greenery makes it feel like an escape Cons: -We received a notice during our move-out process that stated we were going to be fined if we didn't remove the cooler from our back porch. We moved out early so that we could paint and clean our place, so we almost did not see the notice in time -The neighbors that lived above us were not considerate - rather than walking their dogs, they would let them out on the patio and they peed several times onto our deck. They also let their dogs bark all the time (we are responsible pet owners, so it's disappointing to see) -Club House - the deposit to rent their club house gets significant - it's for security purposes only, but it's a lot of money to put down for any potential issues -The pool was nice, but often people would have big parties and leave a ton of beer cans lying around We didn't renew, but renewal fees were not too bad. If you renewed for less than a year or month to month, it's pretty steep. Overall, we enjoyed living at Treehouse and worth checking out it.

The following is a review of TreeHouse Apartments based on my personal dealings with the staff and happenings with my Apace(s). I've lived here for a few years and have only thought about moving once - when a different property manager was temporarily running the property but the original property manager is back now, so life is good! I don't WORK FOR THE PROPERTY. I simply believe the property is a awesome spot to live with lots to offer to the residents and I believe in the property manager. THE ACTUAL APARTMENTS The property is currently undergoing a huge Apace renovation project. The apartments are BEAUTIFUL. I originally lived in one of the unrenovated apartments. When I saw the renovated Apace model, I absolutely had to have one. - The kitchen was definately the selling point for me: open layout into dining room/granite counters-plenty of counter space/stainless steel appliances/ice maker in fridge freezer/kitchen and dining room floors have a premium finish wood looking floor that reduces noise and is super easy to clean. I bought a ceiling fan with light fixture and had them put it in the dining room. I wanted a ceiling fan to circulate more air throughout the Apace. They happily put it up for me, cleaned up after themselves, didn't charge me extra to do it. The kitchen/dining room is absolutely amazing. When I move the ceiling fan comes with me. - The bathroom(s) have marble counters, plenty of lighting, a place to sit in front of the mirror (long big mirror - it's great, not some rinky dink little mirror)to fix your hair or put on your make-up, light fixture(s) in bathroom(s) are elegant-not the standard tacky "bulbs sticking out a wall strip". - Bedroom(s) are nice size, they fit a queen bed more than comfortably without the room feeling "crowded". Closet(s) in bedroom(s) are walk in closets - nice size. I have two closets in my bedroom: one is a large walk in and the second closet is a small walk in. The only complaint I can tell you about the closet(s)is that the wire rack system in them wasn't well thought out - there's one long rack on each side, that's it. I had the wire rack system pulled out of my closets and re-did my closets myself. Now I have a ceiling to floor shelving system on both sides of the large closet AND a large vertical six drawer dresser up against the back closet wall. The closets are huge, I don't have a dresser in the actual bedroom - it's in the closet. The smaller closet I turned into a shoe and purse closet - easily holds 100 pairs of shoes (girlfriend likes shoes & purses)!! When I move the shelving system comes with me. - Living Room has plenty of space. Have a nice sofa in it, looking for a nice leather club chair to put in the corner. TV/TV Stand/two side tables/Lamps/console tables all fit comfortably - not "crowded". I did buy a programmable thermostat and have them install it. Once again, they were more than happy to install it, they cleaned up after themselves and didn't charge me extra to do it. The programmable thermostat has saved me tons of money! When I move the thermostat comes with me. There's a huge hall closet to the side when you first walk into the Apace which is really nice. It's not in the way of anything, it's not in the living room or in the dining room. It's like a wall to the side that happens to be a closet. I use it as a coat closet and there's storage space above it also. - Linen Closet has plenty of space. I didn't do anything to it. - Balconies/Patio(s) - HUGE, PLENTY OF SPACE! I've never seen such huge balconies/patio(s)on a rental property. PETS (Read this even if you don't have Pets) -There's no "Pet Rent": There's a pet deposit for cats and dogs. Cats are $500, Dogs are $750 BUT you get it all back except for $100 of it when you move out. You have four months to pay the Dog Deposit and three months to pay the Cat Deposit. -If you don't like pets and/or don't want to hear a dog barking here's the best thing about their pet policy : IF YOU HAVE A DOG YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN A DOG BUILDING BECAUSE THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE A DOG DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR DOG! THE PROPERTY ITSELF -Grounds/Landscaping are BEAUTIFUL, I'd hate to see their landscaping bill(s). -Parking: Plenty, usually not an issue except once in awhile "visitors" forget that they need to park in "visitor parking". -Safety: Overall the property is well lit and There'sn't a crime spree festival on the property but you as a resident must always be aware of your surroundings - no matter where you live. -Construction: Due to the renovation there's alot of noise - plain and simple. It's an Apace - you're going to hear the neighbors, you're not going to hear them like they're sitting on your lap but you're going to hear them from time to time. -Maintenance: I LOVE BILL (Bill is the Maintenance Coordinator). Bill is the easiest and the most reasonable guy to work with. He will work with you to do anything for you, within reason of course. If someone from maintenance fixes something completely wrong in your Apace (rarely happens but it does happen) you can call or go see Bill and he'll take care of it because Bill is the man. -Noise: Where I'm located on the property I can say it's not really a problem. Just remember you live in a rental community therefore you are not the only person in the building. Be respectful of your neighbors/follow the noise ordinance laws of Schaumburg and Schaumburgs' finest/and Security won't have to visit you. Just because you pay rent doesn't mean you get to be an idiot - you're neighbors pay rent also so that they can have peace and quite. -Security are off duty POLICE, which is nice!!!! Do something stupid and you're in trouble. You're not dealing with a $6 an hour "mall cop". So good luck mouthing off to them, no -------- is allowed. -Washer/Dryers are currently being put on every floor in every building on the property - per Kristen (Property Manager). Money exchange for quarters is always available to residents in the leasing office for laundry. -NO SECTION 8 -"Amenities" - Are all available to residents at no extra charge The property has two swimming pools (one is heated), a fitness center with locker-rooms, picnic area with grill, Volleyball Court, Basketball Court, Paddle Boats and Canoes (huge man made lake), Jogging/Walking Trail, 4 Saunas, a beautiful Clubhouse (seperate refundable deposit need to). I'm probably forgetting something, there's a lot of "amenities" for the residents. OFFICE STAFF Kristen - Property Manager Joanna - Assistant Property Manager Samuel - Marketing Specialist/Leasing Agent Jessica - Leasing Agent Stephanie - Leasing Agent Bill - Maintenance Coordinator I mainly deal with Kristen, Joanna and Bill. So let me tell you a little bit about them. -Bill: Love him, really nice, persoanble, will always help you, all around good guy. -Joanna: Super sweet, personable, funny as hell, I have no problems with her, always pleasant, her and my girlfriend love to chat about shoes. -Kristen: I'm her biggest fan, she's awesome. She will do ANYTHING That's legal for you. She is beyond sweet and nice. She cares about the property as if she owned it herself. If a tenant isn't happy, she WILL fix the problem. When nobody else is getting something taken care of for you, CALL KRISTEN, consider it done. She was gone for a few weeks and we weren't sure if she was going to come back, that's the only time we've ever considered moving. -Kristen and Joanna have called me to tell me that I have a perishable package that just arrived and have offered to take it up to my Apace if I wouldn't be able to pick it up before the office closed so that it wouldn't spoil. -These are good people The job of ALL of the above individuals is to make you the resident comfortable and happy (obviously making you happy doesn't mean you get to do whatever you want and be a jackass). If you're not comfortable and happy, you don't refer friends and family to live on the property which means they're not leasing apartments. If they're not leasing aprtments then their boss -the property owner - isn't happy which means people get fired because they're not doing their job. This concept is super simple, it's your basic business principle that every business functions on. As in all rental properties some of the staff lives on the property with some form of a discount. So knowing all of this it's obviously in their best interest to be nice to you because that's what they get paid to do - it's their job - their job is customer service. If they don't do their job, they could lose their job and/or lose their home. -The Leasing Agents Normally I don't have an issue with them but recently I sent someone in to be shown the Apace(s) and he was annoyed with the female who showed him the apartments because she came off cold, had an attitude and behaved like she just had better things to do then answer his questions. Well sadly HER crappy attitude cost them a resident. He came back to me and told me what a B**** she was and I was pissed off because that's not how they're supposed to behave! I spoke to Kristen about it, she was UPSET and she apologized to me a million times but sadly he wasn't going to come back and all I could do was tell her the name of the agent who showed him the Apace(s). They need to be held accountable for their behavior. Kristen offered to give him the tour herself but he wasn't coming back. So go check out the apartments at TreeHouse, the leasing agents are normally pleasant!!! But if the leasing agent(s) in any way shape or form doesn't make you feel welcomed or you feel the leasing agent isn't up to par - Ask for Kristen, tell her you want her or Joanna to show you the Apace(s) and hold the leasing agent accountable for their behavior, they won't get credit for your Apace lease. This guarantee's that they treat you with the respect you deserve (treat them with respect also). I live across the street and if any mgmt Iemains reading this: I would like to know why I constantly see police officers going into your complex, especially at night. What kind of people can you rent to that require cops to visit frequently?!
