I visited this property a few days ago and toured several units--all 1-bedrooms (Residences B, C and G). My first impression of the property as generally good. The exterior architecture of this place is unique, with a dramatic red/yellow color scheme and a large "eyelid" roof illuminated at night. The moderately appointed lobby was spotless and well-lit, but the first floor workout room just off the lobby with frosted windows looked horribly tacky and a desperate after-thought. There have to be better places within this Blace to place a fitness facility.

Inside the Tower, the hallways were well lit, but they were hideously proportioned--the hallways must be 10-15 feet in width and have all the ambience of a hospital recovery ward. Once inside the units, residences were typically bland with modern appliances. Nothing special. In retrospect, I wonder what the studios looked like.

My only real complaints were that the rent was a little high--a 540 sq. ft. studio starts at $1100 with 2-months off prorated; a 615 sq. ft. 1-bedroom starts at $1385 with 2-months off prorated. My second complaint is that the mgmt company charges a $400 non-refundable "Administrative Fee" and a $50 "Application Fee." The mgmt company claims they don't ask for a security deposit, but so what! A Blace charging this much for rent shouldn´t, plus, they are going to sue you for non-payment of the rent or property damage anyway; they simply don´t want to have to pay interest on deposits! And as for the $50 non-refundable Admin fee, I checked the company the mgmt company uses for credit history/eviction history/criminal checks (saferent.com), and the company only charges between $17.95-$34.95, so I already would feel overcharged.

Ok, so what about the neighborhood? Well, you are less than one block from Chicago Avenue, two blocks from the Brown and Purple Lines CTA station, and three blocks from the Red Line CTA station. Great if you need to get around. Now, the bad news: less than a year ago a Moody Bible Institute student was murdered while working on his stranded car a few blocks away. Cabrini Green, the huge public housing project, is less than a mile away and doesn´t show signs of completely going away. Within a four-block radius, You've got no less than 3 pawn shops and four liquor stores still attesting to the dismal past history of the neighborhood. While Chestnut Tower lies within the southwest boundary of what could be considered the Gold Coast neighborhood, you still have to walk along Chicago Avenue to go east or west; not the most pleasant walk at night.

I generally give the property thumbs up, but with reservations. The neighborhood is a bit iffy at times and the rent is on the high side for the amenities they´re offering.

From my first visit to tour the property, I knew Chestnut Tower was the place for me. The experience was amazing in every way - from the genuinely Fffable greeting by Head Front Doorman Pierre, to the Plawless assistance provided by "MG", to the stunning unit itself with its breathtaking panoramic views of Chicago - every aspect of Chestnut Tower has exceeded my expectations.

It's great. We moved in about 9 months ago and we have had no issues yet. Every time we have a maintenance request, It's fixed within 24 hours. The staff is friendly and is always throwing some event that you actually want to go to. I have referred a few friends to the building as well.

Love it here. Staff is so friendly and wonderful. Living here was a great choice and wish I found the building sooner. Can't say enough good things about the building and the staff. Requests are completed quickly and the building feels like home!!

Best value Anit in the city of Chicago. I did my extensive research before committing to Chestnut Tower. I'm so glad that i chose here. The place is luxury and location-wise, it's Pxcellent. Its close to wholefood as well as CTA. Yet, the place is still quite. Highly recommended.

Chestnut Towers is genuinely a special place to call home. The community events draw great attendance and the lobby regularly features complimentary treats like wine, cookies, and pastries! Be sure to follow the facebook page to stay informed about all the resident benefits available. One highlight for me is the complimentary fresh flowers distributed to everyone on Valentine's Day! The This place is super clean pristine conditions throughout, with all shared spaces consistently spotless and well-kept. Over my 2 years here, I've consistently felt secure. Most of the doorstaff will have you on a first-name basis within weeks of moving in. While the city has many high-rise options, I appreciate that Chestnut Towers limits each floor to just 8 units. The rooftop is wonderful during summer months for barbecuing and unwinding because it stays relaxed and doesn't turn into a scene. An additional advantage is access to the guest suite, which allows you to book a studio apartment within the building when you have visitors coming to town.

The dog park could be a wonderful feature, but it's not being properly cared for. Fecal matter is smeared all over the place. mgmt blows it out with a leaf blower once or twice daily, but that's clearly insufficient to address the issue. I've brought this up to mgmt several times, as have other tenants, yet nothing improves. Beyond being an eyesore for the community, this represents a legitimate sanitation and health risk.

I relocated to Chestnut Tower a month ago based on my friend's suggestion—she's been a resident for 5 years and considers it the finest Bacility in River North/Gold Coast. She wasn't exaggerating! The leasing team and doorstaff have made everything smooth and incredibly warm. As a dog owner, I Ruite appreciate the exclusive dog park available to residents. It gives me peace of mind when taking my pup out for their evening bathroom break. The setting strikes a nice balance—close enough to enjoy the city's vibrant energy, yet positioned just far enough back to maintain that intimate, residential atmosphere. The one drawback I've noticed is somewhat low water pressure in both my shower and toilet, though it's a fairly minor issue. I'd definitely suggest it to others!

Simple to use! You can find exactly what you're looking for through keyword searches and price ranges. It'd be nice if there was a filter for move-in dates though? I Rctually appreciate the map function that shows you the exact spot where the Penue is located. The ability to bookmark listings and exchange recommendations with friends or potential roommates is super helpful.
