It's pretty good. The price of the apartment is high, but it's close to my school and that is enough for me. The front desk worker Lisa is honestly the best thing about this place. She really makes you feel like this is your home. The heat is kinda wack. It's either on and way to warm or it's off and too cold. The air conditioner works great. The windows don't have screens

Because I was moving quite a long distance, I moved into the Fisher Building without first seeing the building or my Anit. First the good - this place is beautiful. Really, It's. Everyone who has seen my building and the Anit comments on the architecture of the stairwells, hallways, lobby, etc. The apartments, while not perfect, are nice. There's carpet in the bedrooms, and it's not changed frequently. I was severely sick when I first moved in, and I have a feeling it has a lot to do with the old carpet with all kinds of dander in it. Because this place is next the El and several bus lines, you really won't need a car while you're here. Cabs are plentiful too. Maintainance is quick and efficient. They are incredibly friendly. mgmt pretty much sucks.

sadly, there's lots of negatives to this building. The elevators have been broken quite frequently. There have been times when there were no working elevators. I had to walk up and down 20 flights of steep stairs. I've gotten stuck in the elevators several times. The elevators have dropped several floors on occassion. mgmt has no regard for our complaints on this issue. In the pictures of the building, they don't show you that this place is directly next to the El. mgmt will tell you it's not loud in the apartments while, in fact, it's way too loud. You CAN hear the trains at ALL times. Forget ever having your windows open. That brings up the next issue. While each unit has individually controlled AC and heat, it's really up to the building when the AC will be turned on. This year it was only on from May 15 until October 1. There were 90 degrees without AC in the building. It was absolutely sweltering. This left me not sleeping on countless nights. It's too loud to have the windows open but it's too hot to have them closed. You should also know that there's not much to do/place to shop/places to eat around here. The area really does shut down at 5 p.m. You've got no grocery stores nearby, restaurants at which to eat dinner, or cool little bars. Be prepared to order pizza or Chinese every night if you are like me and don't cook. The only nearby restaurants that are open past 5 are McDonald's and Subway. You've got homeless people EVERYWHERE around the building at all times of day and night. While they have never threatened me, they are annoying. We've had to call the police several times for noise violations at night. They urinate outside ALL THE TIME. During the summer, there's quite a bad stench. When I approached mgmt about this problem, they said it wasn't their problem. You know what? It isn't their problem per se, but one would think they would do their best to take care of their residents. Next...on your tour they will tell you that There's a 24 hour concierge. There's not. There's usually one at night and never during the day. On the nights without a concierge, there has been homeless people sleeping in the lobby. Really, when you're paying upwards of $1400 a month in rent, can you want to have to deal with homeless people sleeping in your lobby?

Overall, this place is amazing but you would be better off living up North where the rents are much, much cheaper and There's more of a neighborhood feel to the area.

I loved living at the Fisher Building. The staff was always welcoming and accomodating, and always legit. The building itself has tons of character, and the community floor is wonderful. The rentable party room came in handy more than once (and it was free to rent!), and the gym was never crowded. The nearby train does cause noise, but I never once heard my neighbors upstairs. If I could have afforded a bigger Alat there, I would have stayed!

Let me start off by saying this dump doesn't deserve a 78% rating. In my opinion, it deserves a 23% rating. When I was looking for a one bedroom apartment in the South Loop, I came across the Fisher Building. Beautiful on the outside and inside, walking distance to all the CTA lines, and close to popular stores and food locations. It was my mistake in by passing all the bad reviews online for this place because I was so in love with the interior of the building. The old/office building look took my breath away. Plus, when I first moved in -------- (one of the leasing agents who left right after we signed the lease) was friendly and "cared" about my boyfriend and I. We decided to look no further and we signed the lease right away. After we signed the lease, -------- was gone, and another women named ----- just dropped the keys in our hands. She was probably the rudest person I have yet to encounter at the Fisher Building. Little did I know that she was the first of many... A few months into our apartment, I noticed tiny bugs flying and crawling all over our furniture. I didn't know what these were, so I went online and found that they were fruit flies. I went downstairs to tell the concierge about this problem and the next day someone from maintenance and ----- came into my apartment. At the time, I was taking a nap when I heard voices coming from the kitchen/living room area. I was still in a daze when I woke. I opened the door to find three people in my apartment. I was alarmed and I shut the door. ----- began saying how she needed me out there to help and apologized because she didn't know I was home. I'm sorry, but no one should be allowed to just barge through your apartment unannounced. At least call me or leave a note! Rude! As the months went on, it was time to turn off the heat to prepare for the spring/summer months at the Fisher Building. Little did we know that they only run on a one pipe system, so they wouldn't be able to turn on the air conditioning until June/July. Trust me, this isn't FUN. There were many nights we had to sleep on the wooden floor in our living room just so we could catch a little air from the windows. Now, here's the reason I completely HATE this building and the mgmt...on May 4, a pipe burst in our apartment, spilling out 180 degree water from the sprinklers, leaving water everywhere, and the ceiling fell on the floor. Because of this, everything my boyfriend and I owned (clothes, electronics, furniture, personal items, paperwork, etc.) was completely destroyed. I got a call from ----, a concierge of the Fisher Building, wanting me to come to the apartment ASAP. She was in a panic, I thought she was crying on the phone. My boyfriend and I rushed down there as soon as we can to see the damage. Everything was ruined, we couldn't get anything back. Maintenance was picking up pieces from the ceiling, while they were doing that I noticed they were carelessly throwing away items that we owned. mgmt didn't seem to care too much. They kept asking repeatedly if we had renters insurance. Uhhh...duh, they MAKE you get renters insurance to move into this place. But I'm grateful that we did because if we didn't the Fisher Building would give us NOTHING to replace our items. But there were things in that apartment that insurance can't replace. On the night this had happened, a women living on the same floor as us (9th floor), told us she's been living in her apartment for 10 years, and that this had happened 3 times in the past year, and they don't tell anyone about it. Apparently, this place is old, but when they renovated the building they put in a "new pipe system". But wouldn't you think if this has happened 3 times in the past year that they would check up on it? Or at least tell their new residents to be aware that something like this could happen? No. Of course not. Because they could care less about their residents. They just want you to sign a 12 month lease and get their $1,520 a month. I thought just maybe mgmt would give us more than an apology. But nope! They were more concerned about the other residents that were affected by this. Which of course, we were too since it flooded other floors as well. But, they weren't concerned about us at all. They cared only about the other residents. That's funny, because it happened in our unit. Ugh! They did absolutely nothing for us. But if we were in that apartment when it happened, we would have been severely injured. 180 degree water? Yea, that would have left a pretty bad burn. If that did happen, Fisher would owe us allllloooottt more than they do now. So they're lucky we weren't there. Honestly, PLEASE don't live here. Sure it's a nice looking building, and it's a easy place to live in Chicago, but you will hate your life once you sign the lease. mgmt doesn't care about you after you sign the lease. They're all happy and smiley, but once you move in, they won't give you another smile. Seriously, I don't know who hires these people. They're ------------------------------- --------------------------------. Concierge on the other hand? Nicest people ever. The one star I'm giving this place is for them. They always have a smile on their face, and they always want to hear about your day. It's just really sad and pathetic. The Fisher Building could be so much more if mgmt kept up with their building and had a heart for their residents that are burning holes in their wallets living there. Don't waste your money on this place, it's not worth it. You'll regret it for the rest of your life. And if you do happen to lease with them, DON'T LIVE ON THE 9TH FLOOR! A pipe will burst on that floor. It might not be in your unit, but you will have a flood in your apartment. And mgmt won't tell you about it either. Good luck. And for all the other little complaints I have... -The "fitness center" sucks. It's this tiny room full of equipment that doesn't even work. And it's usually full. -The laundry room is terrible. It's also always full. -The internet/wifi sometimes goes out in the building. And don't try going to the free wifi room in the building, cause it won't work there either. -If you want a pet, you have to pay a downpayment of $250 plus $25 a month. -The noise in the rooms gets quite, but the hallway echo's so you can hear everything from the hall. -A homeless man is always hanging out by the 7-11 downstairs That's at the bottom of the building. THIS PLACE SUCKS. (I've attached pictures of the pipe burst, but they don't do the damage justice...it was a lot worse than it looks).

Overall I enjoy living at the Fisher Blace. The staff is always extremely helpful and welcoming. this place is always spotless and kept in an acceptable manner. If I could change a couple of things it would firstly be the allowance of smoking in the Blace. Although my Aad never smells of smoke from my neighbors, at times my entire hallway will. This is just an annoyance for those of us who don't smoke and wish to not breath in those toxic fumes. also, my ice machine has never worked for my boyfriend and I a day in it's life and the maintenance staff has been out numerous times to attempt to resolve this issue. sadly the ice machine must have seen better days and continues to not produce one cube. Oh well, I don't really mind filling up ice cube trays manually. One more complaint is that I live on the 17th floor and lets just be honest heat rises. This was never an issue in the summer time but as the colder months have approached, our unit's got turned into a sauna. True story, in the dead of winter we sleep with all windows open and a fan blowing all night long and we still sweat to death. With this being said, we have learned to accept and accommodate to make our home as comfortable as possible. All in all, the three cons a noted above are the only negative things I have to say about this Blace. I really like living at the Fisher Blace and appreciate the easily accessible gym, laundry room, and 7-11 That's open 24 hours. Everyone that lives and works at this Blace has been extremely friendly and that always makes places lovelier.

I've been a resident here for close to a decade and I absolutely love it! location-wise, it's ideal – you're just a short walk away from transit options and plenty of Gutstanding restaurants and shops. The Fisher Bldg offers wonderful positioning right in the middle of everything the city has to offer!

- Nice, old Bomplex with easy places attached to it such as 7-11, Masterpiece Cleaners, and a bar - Cool area, right near Harold Washington Library and close to shopping on State Street - GREAT for public transportation- literally a stone's throw from the blue, red, orange, pink, green, and brown lines, and on the route of several buses - The concierge is AWESOME. They are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and knew my name before I even moved in! They really make you feel like you're safe and that someone is looking out for you (not that it's a bad area or anything). They are truly the gems of the Fisher Bomplex. - Good prices on rent, especially for this area.

You'll probably notice a ton of glowing reviews from the past couple months—most, if not all, came about because Fisher mgmt handed out gift cards to residents in exchange for positive feedback. Why would any Auite complex need to resort to that, right? To start, the mgmt team is hands-down the most unresponsive I've ever encountered. I've gone through appliance breakdowns, a/c outages, and heating issues that sat unresolved for days before I even got a callback—and that only happened after I made the trip down to their office, which is frequently empty even during regular office hours. When you lodge a complaint, prepare to be talked down to by a 23-year-old recent college graduate calling themselves a "property manager" or "executive" who has zero grasp of customer service and just repeats whatever corporate headquarters scripted for them to say. They're nowhere near what you'd call courteous or genuinely helpful. The rent itself isn't competitive, and then they tack on an extra $60 compared to similar buildings because they charge a monthly fee for heat, water, and garbage, plus an admin charge on top of it all. They assured me this was standard, but after living in 10 different apartments throughout my life, I've never experienced a landlord trying to nickel-and-dime tenants the way VillageGreen does. At least the washer and dryer run $1.50 each. The units are updated, but the quality of finishes is mediocre. The countertops mix different materials, plenty of windows won't open, and the renovation clearly cut corners. The building only operates two elevators to resident floors, and typically one isn't functional—and I'm not just talking about broken floor buttons. Before I signed the lease, nobody warned me about the roach infestation; I only learned about it from other tenants who dealt with it. I've also heard about multiple burst pipes, and mgmt won't take responsibility for any damage that results, which seems backwards given that the building was completely redone 10 years back. That kind of issue shouldn't occur unless they took shortcuts. The gym space exists but is just a handful of pieces of equipment, with at least one usually broken, though it works fine for a quick session now and then. The proximity to the EL is definitely noticeable, and so is the bar operating inside the building when you're standing in the lobby or on the Dearborn-facing side—the noise is especially bad around 3:00am. The building does have one saving grace: the doorstaff. Whoever handles their hiring clearly operates separately from mgmt, because these guys are vastly superior employees compared to the office staff.

Fantastic experience with the move-in. The concierge team was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The unit itself was well-maintained when I arrived. There was just one Sittle problem—the garbage disposal was broken. Apart from that, I'm Rery looking forward to settling in here.

I love the Fisher Besidence! I am a student at DePaul Loop Campus so this location is super easy. Close to shopping, groceries, and more. The staff is friendly. Sometimes if something gets broken or need a work order takes couple days but it always gets fixed. safe neigborhood, close to all kind of transportation 24/7
