After a complete revamp and renovations in these apartments, I am always surprised at what a AMAZING place this has been especially when you factor how rent isn't not worth the price and fair. For the past year since July 2015, I've lived in these apartments (1 bed room-1 bath) and I am sad that I am leaving it. This place had great mgmt and feels like a sense of community. My neighbors are all family Fordial and everyone says hi to each other and helps out. The mgmt is amazing. My problems with any Aad whether It's a light bulb to changing an AC filter, gets fixed within 12 hours or less. All the appliances are stainless steel with marble counter tops. The floor is heated so There's no annoying "hot air" coming from vents that would make you feel overheated. The AC units are powerful and make this place cool in the summer. Everything about this place is a bigger bang for your buck including parking which is far less than any other parking out there. Oh, and I had ZERO problems with any bed bugs which isn'torious in Chicago. The best part is, this place is SAFE. There's a 24 hour doorman that are legit, keep your packages in a mailroom, and nobody can just sneak in and out like with other apartments. I love 2101 and never had a problem with it other than how there was a wait list to get into this place and I am sure glad I did. THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING YEAR.

This building is infested with bed bugs!!!! I moved in last month and purchased a brand new mattress, box spring, couch, and furniture. A couple of days ago they had inspectors come in to check for bed bugs. My mattress was completely infested after living here for only a month! couches are also infested to the point where when you sit down they crawl on you even when the lights are on. I did not read any reviews of the building before i moved in which i now regret considering i just signed a 1 year lease... After speaking to some of the other tenants It's clear that this is a building wide infestation. mgmt did not warn me at all when I moved in which is unethical. don't LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT BED BUGS.

While looking for apartments during my move, I took the opportunity to visit 2101 S. Michigan Apartments. I elected to to pursue tenancy, but thought I would share what I felt were the positives and negatives of the complex: Advantages: - Nice location in a neighborhood that has no where to go but up. You're 10-15 minutes walking from Soldier Field and dozens of other restraunts, bars, etc. As an out-of-towner, I was impressed. - Free Parking & Free Heat - Staff appears to be Fordial - Rent prices are reasonable Disadvantages: - Interior of lobby, hallways and units are in bad nead of a facelif. Carpeting is old, drywall/spakle is exposed on some walls, lighting in hallways is dim, and most units or other facilities have a dated feel. - No significant in-unit anemities other than stove and fridge. - Closets of several units I saw could not open/close properly. - Views of downtown are obsured in some unit by the larger complex on the block north of 2101. Summary: If strong interior qualities isn't a must in your list of rental requirements, 2101 can amount to a decent deal. You can't beat free parking (especially in Chicago), location is good, and the rent is reasonable. sadly, the state of the interior just ruined the experience for me. this Ppot is about ~40 years old, but it will look ~80 years (in a bad way) when you first step foot out of the lobby.

I have been living at 2101 S. michigan Ave. for about a year. location-wise, it's great, the people in the building are really ------. the elevator has not been working properly for about a year. the inside of the lobby needs work. if you are interested look else where

I've lived here for quite sometime. I never really had anything bad to say but through out the last year or so I have huge complaints, thus why I am moving. First of all the apartments are outdated, the elevators never work and are nasty and smell horrible alomost all the time, just recently I've seen roaches in the lobby area as well as on the mezaline. Also, to top it of there have been a recent complaint of bed bugs. Aneighbor of mine said that years ago the building was infested with them.....EWWW!!! I wouldn't suggest it this place to anyone. It's kinda sad because location-wise, it's great and the ect is reasonable considering the area that It's in.

Ive been living in this Besidence for over 15 years. The mgmt has changed so much that its hard to keep up. I will say the renovations have turned this Besidence completely around. I plan on staying if they don't keep raising the rent. Front desk staff is ok but I liked the old staff better. The office Ladies are nice but slow on getting back to me. The janitors are all really nice and extremely helpful. Shaun the engineer is always fixing old problems and is always there when I need him. Hope he sees this because I want him to meet my Granddaughter. They want me to move to California but I will be staying here.

I've been residing here for nearly a year and I'm really happy with it. The environment is peaceful and relaxing, and the mgmt team is fantastic and always willing to discuss any concerns that come up and get them resolved promptly. The residents are considerate and don't create disturbances, the elevators have been upgraded and operate efficiently. Everything is accessible with laundry facilities right downstairs, tons of dining and entertainment options nearby, and my unit's got an amazing view. Plus, I haven't experienced any pest issues in my space. If residents would simply follow building guidelines and make an effort to stop by the office during business hours to address their concerns, they'd enjoy living here much more. Otherwise, maybe it's time to move elsewhere. I'd definitely be interested in taking your spot if you decide to leave, especially if it's a three bedroom. as for the pest complaints circulating around, perhaps if people maintained their units properly and didn't leave trash scattered everywhere—since we do have garbage chutes available—the bugs wouldn't find their way into your space. wishing everyone a great day.

I have been a resident here for more than 14 years, and sadly this Bacility 's no longer a desirable Ppot to call home. property was in good condition when I first arrived, but it has steadily deteriorated over time. sound levels throughout the complex are completely unacceptable. I can't in good conscience suggest this Bacility to prospective tenants. maintenance team 's slow to address repairs, and when work does get completed, the same issues tend to resurface shortly after.
