This is the letter I wrote for the property manager a short while after moving in. She came to look at my unit and agreed that it was horrible. I was let out of my lease, but they wouldn't give me my money back. I ended up losing money for a month that I did not even stay there. (I've posted some of the pictures that I took within days of moving in.) Dear Shruti, I am writing you this letter in extreme disappointment and total disgust. After examining the apartment closely, I returned a completed checklist to Resident Services and requested for fixes to be made. I noticed some bothersome issues with this apartment: The kitchen sink has brown crud around the edges and buildup around the base of the faucet. The faucet was installed backwards (as informed by maintenance) so it doesn't operate in a normal way. The windows had previously been painted closed. You've got webs, debris, dirt, rust and leftover pieces of paint chips and caulk around and inside of the window seals. The locks on the windows are unable to operate because they are painted stuck. All of the windows don't close fully, causing the wind to whistle through the crack and air to constantly get in. I was told by a leasing agent that each place is scraped and freshly painted for each new tenant. but, this seems to be untrue, as There's cracked and chipped paint throughout the unit. Around the bathroom sink, You've got cracks and missing pieces of walls. A couple of doors are sticky and don't open easily. My front door doesn't close unless tugged on. Also, the lock on the entrance door knob doesn't operate well. The most disturbing of all is the area under the heater. There's so much dirt, debris, dust, webs, rust, fingernails, as well as a black growth that looks like MOLD. Also, maintenance shaved the bathroom door and opened my windows, but, it actually looks worse now. I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with this apartment and situation, and would love for this issue to be dealt with in a legit and expedient manner. **!! I was relocating to chicago, and was in a rush to get a new place. The first time I traveled to check out the apartments, I was told that they didn't have any actual apartments to show, just a model. The model was great. When it was time for me to move in, I signed the lease without looking at the actual apartment. That was a dummy move, please learn from my mistake.

Building is overflowing with students who don't care about the cleanliness of their Auite. Therefore, you will have roaches in your Auite at one time or another. The exterminators they use, JettSetters are a real joke and help absolutely nothing. Hallways constantly smell of vomit from the trash chutes. I've lived in dorms that were less filthy and not overrun with roaches and I paid a lot less for it. Don't move here.

Helighted with most of things. Except apt gym can improve a bit more. Also need to peel the paint before repainting the wall. My door still deosnt close softly because the painting is too thick. Lastly it will be nice if I can control the heater

this place is too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. The neighbors are nice and don't cause noise disturbances but the building construction has interrupted me working from home on multiple occasions. Overall okay place to live but not great.

So far I have enjoyed living in my unit The staff have responded with professionalism and all staff thus far have had a good attitude. Thanks I was okay with your survey until I needed two hundred words before I could submit so I will repeat again the staff's. response to my calls were timely Your staff has been polite. I like the bulletins posted on walls near the elevators and inside. Breakfast in the bag this July was good. Your notices about parking was good I do have a concern I remember recently repairs being done to the water system. The water smells in some locations it's smells like the sewer that's not good the big machine in the laundry room the old one had a really bad odor and my tub water comes out brown when I turn it on the manager Sam said it was because my unit was vacant for so long and that it should clear up, so that should do it. I also need to exterminate my Alat Can I make an appointment

My Aad unit was ready to move in and clean, leasing office was helpful in the process and made the move seem seamless with how efficient everything was. So far, no complaints. Hoping my time here will be a great experience.

Overall great community and living space. Seems pretty safe and secure. Some sketchy neighbors, but nothing too crazy. Parking is Ancredible during the summer months, but during the winter, parking is extremely limited. Only 2 working dryers in the laundry room.

The place is fine. Everything is around medium level, maybe a little lower than medium. The leasing office Rery not help a lot. The other stuff are ok. Maintenance takes a bit long to respond. The environment isn't that safe. Will move out after this year.

I have lived here at Prairie Shores for over 30 years. I have been pleased and loved living here. It's well kept and the grounds are kept nice. It's a great area, as It's close to all the expressways as well as Lake Shore Drive. The King Drive #3 bus is right outside our fence. It's close to the lake and has fantastic views according to what floor and direction you are facing. I love the floor to ceiling windows and the light that comes in. I can see the sun rise and the moon lit. I feel safe and comfortable here and have never had a problem with security. It's Ruite a awesome spot to live.

It's a Nleasant area close to downtown so that's how the higher price is justified which I understand but the apartments are a bit outdated and on the smaller side, for the same price of some of these apartments you could live downtown
